my mastertemp 250 heater was cycling on and off as it has done before. replacing the thermostat (pentair part # 38000-0007S) seems to work for about 6 months. it was happening again recently so i started to take the thermostat out. all that came out was the spring. the thermostat remained in the manifold. i tried to take it out with a pair of pliers but it slipped down into the manifold to where i could not reach it. i took the manifold off today and it was not in there. i have a feeling it is in one of the many pipes connected to the pool and heater. i checked the filter thinking it might be in there but its not. any idea where it could be and how to get it out?
