  1. That is great news, thank you! I didn't realize I could remove the cover (skin) like that. 😅😅😅 I was going to try and squeeze a patch in through the 1/4" hole. I bought HH-66 vinyl cement and a piece vinyl to make the repair. 🤞
  2. I just bought a new HotSpring Aria for my house that's under construction. It was delivered to the deck before the house is finished. I just noticed today, one of the many contractors must have used the cover as a work bench and put a small tear it (and the tarp it was covered with). The GC is of course denying that it was any of his guys who destroyed the brand new $700 cover. And even if I get money from him, he'll just end up back charging us elsewhere. 😡 At first I was starting to accept having to buy a new cover. But, the tear is actually very small and almost invisible when it's flat. Is there any super glue, etc. I could use to seal the cover? Maybe at least get a few years out of it? I don't want a large, noticeable patch on my new expensive hot tub. Thanks
  3. Ty. The deck floor is only at 28'6" according to the plans (really it's a ground floor for plus three), so the crane should be plenty tall enough. 🤞 Everything else sounds good. Thank you.
  4. Hi, I'd like to get a Hot Spring Aria hot tub for the house we're building but the house won't be ready until April. It's going to be installed on a structurally engineered roof top deck and I'm having the builder apply for permits and install it (unless maybe the dealer will want to install it for warranty purposes?). How should I time the purchase, etc, seeing that the house won't be ready until the spring? My local dealer called me after I filled out a form on the Hot Spring website and they said it's a 6-8 week lead time for an Aria. I'm wondering do I order it now and possibly have it sitting out all winter? Should I try to time it for the spring time near when the house is completed? I also read that some spa manufacturers shut down production during the winter making availability difficult, does that include Hot Springs? Also, my biggest concern is getting it up on to the 4th floor roof deck in the back of the house with only a 6' alley on the side for access. I was glad to see this was a thing (https://www.unitedrentals.com/marketplace/equipment/material-handling/cranes/mini-crawler-crane-42-ft-2-tons-electric-powered) if we can't figure out another way. Any other suggestions/advice? Thank you
  5. So I finally got here and got the sides removed. The equipment area was bone dry. The (single) light fixture doesn't appear easily accessible from the equipment area, but the large diameter hose that the electric is snaked through to it was also dry. I removed the side where the majority of the water was leaking and found very saturated Styrofoam from way up high by the top of the filters. After removing it I found it was actually the fixture around the bleeder valve that was leaking. I'm assuming this video is essentially the fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4D6rtK06b4 - Clean up the old sealant and re-caulk with silicone. We bought a "aquarium safe" 100% silicone (https://www.dap.com/products-projects/product-categories/caulks-sealants/silicone/all-purpose-silicone/) and a Marine Epoxy (https://www.pcepoxy.com/products/emergency-repair/pc-marine/). Not sure which one we're going with yet. While working I marked the water line with a pencil and unfortunately it still appears to be leaking somewhere else. Is there anyway to remove the "screw" portion of the jets to access the fixture itself? I'm wondering if I'll be able to determine where the leak is located from inside the tub. Once I knew the bleeder was leaking it was pretty obvious that it was loose inside the tub. Thanks edit: sorry about the large photos, wish I could resize or hide in a spoiler tag or something, but that doesn't look like an option.
  6. Lol ok, I'll double check. For simplicity sake I was saying mine/our hot tub...but I'm really describing my parent's hot tub and I don't live there lol. It's a Dimension Aurora II circa 2002-2003 somewhere so pretty old. They've replaced most of the major components. I'm headed up there in a couple weeks. Will investigate more thoroughly and report back. Thank you for the help.
  7. There's a slow leak somewhere in the front right corner of our hot tub. Water is constantly leaking from under the base in that area. It's not obvious where exactly it's leaking from but it's not from any of the pump connections accessible in the front panel. Is there a way of finding and repairing it? We've never drained the tub and lifted it on it's side, but apparently that's possible to do. I imagine it requires disconnecting the electric. Is that a feasible next step? I'm not sure what we'll find under there and what's visible and what's not. Figured I would ask here before going through all that trouble. Any other advice? Thanks
  8. We just replaced the circulation pump in our hot tub. The new pump has a 2 wire plug coming out of the motor area. After scouring the wiring diagram trying to figure out where the plug went we finally looked at the old pump and realized it didn't have those wires. After googling the pump it's apparently a flow switch of some kind. We already have a flow switch in the heater line. Do we just leave the wires unplugged? Thanks
