  1. I tipped mu 2001 altamar up with just my 18 yr son helping lift (were not big muscle guys)   I used a big pry bar and stacks of wood got it tipped up about 12 inches sitting on wood  then we grabbed it and tipped it  lift with your knees! up was easy down was harder....  get help putting it down we did it just the two of us and it was very heavy  last time I got a third person made it easy

  2. the control panels are just  on with foam backed adhesive tape use a metal putty knife and work around it  a new control may or may not come with a new "adhesive gasket: so check when you order

If its just the small remote panel check to see if its plugged in in the electrical box (turn power off)  it plugs into the ribbon cable from the big control

the small one is often unplugged because they cause errors I unplugged mine for that reason. IF you decide to replace small panel  tie a string onto the cable end BEFORE you pull the cable   makes install much easier to use the string to pull new cable

big control  pulling it up wont allow you access to to fix the screen  they are sealed you would need to replace it

  3. If you have compressed air you could try with power OFF to tub  blowing out the pump motor

I had a pump on my  sundance altamar that was shutting off same as yours  I used my air compressor to blow out the motor and all kinds of junk came out (leaves, insulation ect)  and after that it never did it again

cost you nothing but 10 mins of your time to try f you have a compressor

  4. so my 2001 sundance altamar is acting up again

control panel randomly goes into lock mode  AND  the pumps if on will run on beyond the 20 min cycle  (when you start them they should normally run 20 mins then shut off)

But when it goes into lock mode  they just run and never shut off  i left them running 45 mins tonight  then tripped the breaker to shut tub off  lock mode goes away

main board appears undamaged  and is original  control panel (top side) also is undamaged no cracks no water inside it

so my question is is it the topside or the mainboard?

I do have a small pump leak currently but water in NOT in contact with any electronic parts

  5. If you turn on the 2 speed pump does flow go away?

remove your filter and  see if flo code goes away

if you turn on the 2 speed pump with the side panel off you can see if the flow switch moves

my 2003 altamar  my recirc pump was working BUT it was not moving enough water to close flow switch i replaced that pump to fix my problem (flo switch closed for me when i started the 2 speed pump)

  7.  water in it?  are you in an area where it could have frozen?

    if so not worth it

if your handy and like to tinker  you can trouble shoot for little cost  and decide once you diagnose the problem(s)

for the tripping breaker  open up the tub panel (power OFF)  disconnect the heater wires cap them  take a pic so you remember where they go  turn breaker back on if no trip its a heater  if it still trips  disconnect pumps/ozone one at a time until no more trip

once you can get it to run  you will see what works and if it leaks and at this point only have time into it

  8. so my tub had been 100% for months  a few weeks ago I had my 2 speed pump fail (orig to 2001)  the start cap went and the wet end impeller broke on removal

I swapped in a spare pump and wet end I had and all was well  last night I noticed the lower drain plug was leaking so i got my oring kit and tried  noting would stop the leak  it went form bad to worse at this point i suspect the wet end where the drain plug screws in might be cracked or damaged (cant see it)  I got it down to a steady drip when pump was running

I also tried the plugs from spare pumps and no go still leaks (all old orings)

leak is running away from everything all electric  staying dry

we jumped into tub after 20 mins no problem did another 20 and my control panel went into lock mode (did this last year with remote panel plugged in, still not plugged in)

got out  about 5 mins  tub still locked   I tripped breaker still locked  waited 10 mins  finally unlocked seemed to work fine Ill go out later and check it

I have 1 sundance dealer 45 mins away I'm going to see if they have the correct oring in stock today

Now questions   pump wet end plugs are plastic as is wet end  is cracking common/normal (if it is cracked)  its black plastic will any glues/epoxy stick to them?

lock mode  I did NOT touch or move any wires in the past 2 weeks   I messed with the pump plug leak which is not getting anything wet except base wood

  9. tub was due for a water change  hit it with ahhsome   not much goo  which is good  drained it then pulled leaking pump/wetend

I opened wet end the o ring was very hard compared to the new one o ring  changed shaft seal reasmbled with new o rings on the unions filled and ran no leaks so far!!!  I'm going to run it for a few hours as it needs to heat up  this way I can watch for any leaks

old o ring was hard but not damaged sealing surfaces on both halves of wet end were clean with no damage screws were as tight as they would go  so i guess after 20 years the rubber finally shrank/dried   didnt owe me anything!

  10. So as i was looking for leaks i notice my single speed pump  wet end had some water stain on the housing where the front and back halves of the wet end join  feeling around when the pump is running it has a very small leak no leak when pump off  seeing as I will be draining my tub for water change in a few weeks is  I figured I would order a new o ring and replace it  what's the chances this fixes the leak ? or do I need a new wet end  pump has never frozen   sounds fine runs fine

  11. update  I finally had time and its warm enough to work on this

I opened up all 4 sides no visible water leaks  BUT  when i put my hand between the plastic sheet on the bottom and the sprayed in foam  I found a puddle a big one!

so I started prodding and found it was wet all the way up almost to the top  so I scooped out soaking wet foam until I found some lines  and hour later I found the leak  an air line had 3 pin holes  when blower was off (which is 99% of the time) line fills with water and it was dripping pretty steady  I cut out as much of the hose as I could it  was just clear tubing  and put a new piece in  no more leak  now I'm trying to dry the foam  at least I had a carpet dryer blower  so after 2 days  its almost dry  now ill just watch water level  and see if there are other leaks.....
