I just bought a new Caldera spa the Moorea model with 420 gallons... I have had it since April 21.. I have already had to drain it since it got really foamy and an oil film on the water... was told first month should drain it anyways since new... my question is I use my tub twice a day for 1/2 hour each time.. I got a start up kit of Spa Essentials chemicals... I have just ran out of shock treatment and almost out of chlorine since I have to use 1 tble spoon daily to keep water at right level.. and I also seem to use alk. up to keep water chem. where it needs to be already half gone with that.... what is your opinion on leasure time chemicals just ordered the alk.. up and chlorine 56 from online I know the chlorine matched the bottle I am using now so no fillers... I have one hot springs dealer here locally just 1 mile away but will not step foot in there store need to find something online to order from.. since place I bought my tub is 40miles one way and with gas in my next of the woods at 3.09 a gallon driving my suv at 11miles a gallon its really stupid to waste $12.00 plus on gas for chemicals unless in that neck of the woods... love the spa essentials chemicals but are they only through spa dealers only.. also have stain and scale control bottle says add 2oz every week set up crew said every month whats the deal... and also with the water clarifer bottle says when needed so every week or so? I have not used the ph decreaser yet my tub only seems to need the alk.. increaser to level the chemicals ..... when I add that it brings the ph where it needs to be .. okay is this true .. if alkanity is too high you use the ph decreaser to level the ph to the right amount and the alkanily will come down correct.. and if alk is to low the ph seems low so you add alk. to adjust the ph and alk to even them out right???? this seems to be working for me or is this not right.. anyways you experts out there please give me some ideas and where to buy some chemicals online since I live out in the country with no major shopping.. would love the buy from my dealer but to far thanks for your help

hi, Just bought a Caldera spa the new Moorea Model which is the paradise line.... JUST LOVE IT.... Got it this last Friday and been enjoying since.... was looking at the hot springs also to buy but really love the Caldera jets are alot more powerful and great quailty spa with same warrenty as hot springs for this line in the paradise series.... Like they said go with the dealer that has been in business a long time and look at the warrenty of the spa... Good luck....

I looked at Jacuzzi, costco tub, coleman, marquis, phoenix, hot springs and tiger river.... Like I said I was sticker shocked at the prices.. parents had a hot tub made high quality even runs on pool filter systyem nice tub had for 20 years one time being fixed the tub is a beast.. nice and big.. did not even cost 5000 to have made his standards.. so to go shopping and looking at 7000 for a decent tub had to make sure on where spending my husband well earned money... came down to dealer rep and how long in business and how treats customers... Always came back to the caldera spa great warrenty and I am sure will love the jets plenty of variety to jump too and love the foot jet systems on this spa... So thats my list of spas and who won for me plus I did talk to word of mouth of owners of spas...

YES I really did my homework trying to figure out what the difference was between the tubs and getting around all of the sales people claiming there tubs was the best... At first I was sticker shocked on how much hot tubs cost these days that took awhile to absorb.... tub will be here tomorrow first Moorea model delivered in Oregon.... yeah can't wait....

Just made decision and bought the caldera over the Vista.. Liked the Caldera dealer better .. even though they sold Hot Springs as well.... Get delivery on Friday .... This tubs lounger fit my husband perfect since he is tall and the seats slant back more compared to the Hot Spring lines...Service does make a difference where you buy your tub.... The owner was great been lcooking for three years now and choices always came back to Tiger Rivers, Hot Springs, and Caldera.... Well Caldera was our winner...Will let you know how well we love it and if any problems with it.... Thanks for all the help and I am sure I will be asking about how to treat the water sounds confusing but made sure I got the oz on the tub... Thanks again everyone out there...

Caldera is a watkins product as filteration was told is no bypass as well.... only one that does not filter all the way in watkins line is tiger rivers which is a lower model line

Thanks for the diagram... Caldera spas filter through filter with no by pass as well.... Thanks for all the help I am now a proud owner of a new Caldera Spa The Moorea... gets delivered on Friday.... My husband did not fit into the vista being so tall his shoulders hit the pillow on the lounge in the vista ... I got a great deal on my spa plus the owner of the hot springs store was great....and Caldera is made by Watkins as well right below or I say equal with the hot springs line.. Thanks for the information....

vista is the 2005 floor model for that price vista is a 2005 floor model discount of 600 in my area which is southern oregon... new one listed for 8600... wow on 10.000 and up... this model does not have o zone so add one than your up to new model price with o zone... something to consider .. vista is short on lounge seat on back part hit husband in shoulder blades at 6ft 4 so option to consider... any bad about caldera out there what is up with the pump coming on for one time for 12min during the day or whatever don't understand that still has 24 hr cir pump can you explain

looking to buy.. having too much information on what to buy.. looking at 5 to 7k range.. model in caldera looking at is martinique and than the new moorea since little bigger.. HS line looking at the vista.. not sold on the moto jet and heard HS jets are less powerful and why so many filters on hotspring models those are 83.oo a piece times 5 wow.... please help leaning really towards caldera for price point any bad things to know about caldera since not much out there in the forums.. please respond soon buying in a few days.. thanks for the information... any is helpful and how much is there a set price martinique going for 5800 moorea 7000 and vista 7900 how much really marked up compare to stores 35miles apart little difference.. thanks
