I point my jets upward. Since I have done that I rarely need to add chemicals. I never have algae and my chorine consumption has lessened considerably. My pool gives a perfect read daily and I am saving big $ on chemicals. When my jets were down I always had to scrub the algae off of 2 areas weekly and also had to super shock the pool at least twice a year because I would never get a chorine read.
