  1. I'll post an update once I replace the GFCI on Monday. Fingers crossed
  2. Appreciate the advice, I believe you are right. I'll have the new GFCI Monday and I'll know for sure. If power was coming out of the GFCI, I should be able to get a reading with the tic-tracer anywhere along the power cord, correct? Its heavy duty, but I still should be able to have the tracer light up if the if the cable is energized. There isn't anything special about the cable that would make getting a reading more difficult than usual. I tried the tracer on a number of other cables that I know do work and they all lit up the tracer. Wire terminal is accessible on the GFCI box. I checked it and the connection look fine. Can't really test the while its plugged in since the access panel is on the side flush with the outlet. If you are talking about the wire terminal inside the hot tub control panel, I tested there too and no power.
  3. Not a bad idea, although I'm going to stick with the hot springs stuff for now. I've thought about converting to 220v, but I'm out of circuits on the panel, so would have to get an upgrade. That would be the best fix. I will replace the GFCI attached to the cord, it is the Watkins GFI 20 amp 70996 older model. Got the newer version on order. It is just odd to me that the light on the GFCI is lighting up and staying green when I reset it. The cable is separate, so I will be replacing the GFCI without replacing the cable. I'd be very surprised if the copper in the cable physically went bad. Although do you think it could be the cable?
  4. How did you tell the GFCI cable was bad? I have a 115v 2008 Sovereign that isn't powering up anymore. Cable looks fine, but power isn't getting to the hot tub. I was thinking it was the GFCI plug. The GFCI plug appears to not be tripping though and I can test & reset it with it holding a green light.
  5. Looking for some advice. Went to check my 115v 2008 Hot Springs Sovereign and realized something was wrong when I noticed the water was cold and the control panel was dark. I have the older grey style GFCI plug. Checked and reset the 20a breaker Tested and checked power to the outdoor outlet using voltmeter (120v tested) Tested and reset GFCI box. Green light stayed on Use AC Voltage detector in and around the box, test shows AC detected Use AC Voltage detector along power cable - I was not able to get the AC Detector to light up Use Voltmeter where wires come into the hot tub control panel. Not getting any voltage No lights on the control board are lit up Wanded AC voltage detector throughout control panel, especially around relay board and it did not light up My guess it is the GFCI plug. I have a new one on order. The odd part is that the plug is lighting green and not tripping. The other thought is that it could be the cable, but on visual inspection it looks fine. I've also tested the cable right where it leaves the GFCI box and nothing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
