  1. Rob, I have had the exact same issue on my 2019 hot springs vangard. When new one of the dual moto massage jets broke in the exact same spot six months later. Today my other side of the tub now has the same problem two years later. My hot springs dealer said they never had these problems on the single jet systems, only on the dual jet systems. The dealers know more than they are letting on. Most won't care short-term because the 5 yr warranty covers this for new tub owners, but you are going to be on the hook every six months to a year down the road buying new $120 jets for this. We only use our tub 2-3 hours a week max. My dealer suggested binding the two together with something due to the stress going up and down in the water breaking that weak spot. I too use bromine w/ a ozone system instead of salt. My bromine level is between 1-3ppm.
  2. I have this on a 2019 vangard, and I still have the water going bad every 3 months. This is with 1-2 weekly use. The cartriges are $60/ea and the maintenance is still a pain. I have had my setup now for over a year and going to go with ozone + salt generation for lower maintenance. Ozone by itself had better water in my opinion vs. the salt generator. To be honest I would just stick with ozone and bromine salt over a salt chlorinator and you'll be happier with the maintenance issues. The ozonator will split the sodium bromide similar to the salt generator and you will have less maintenance; but it comes at a higher cost per flush of the hot tub.
  3. I have a freshwater system on a 2019 vangard and it has been difficult to keep any free chlorine levels in the hot tub after 3 days. I wanted something a bit more maintenance free (e.g. > 1 week) but that is likely not happening. Going to run both salt generator and ozone; hopefully be able to only add chlorine/mps as needed when used, otherwise both of those should keep the water looking good.
  4. You are not alone on this. I have a 2019 vangard tub with a freshwater salt generator system. We use the tub 1-2 times per week; and the residual has difficulty showing up on the test strip. I have it set to setting of 6 and use the 24 hour boost mode after use as well as adding extra granulated chlorine. My tub actually came with a ozonator as well; which has been disconnected after I installed the salt chlorinator ($250 from dealer). I am thinking of running both ozone and the salt generation system to make it nearly maintenance free. Before I had the salt chlorinator the ozone was active (I added it after purchase of hot tub) and the water always smelled good; in many ways I was happer with ozone + mps and occasional chlorine once per week. The issue is the chlorine residual will rarely show up on a test strip, but since I now have both a salt chlorinator and ozone I am going to give it a shot to run both and use granulated chlorine/mps only when the tub has been used. Frustrated but I think this will work well. The free chlorine will oxidize the ozone and produce a residual of o2 and chlorine ions; however it will double the free chlorine oxiation; requiring more chlorine production. Guess i'll up the setting to 8 on the salt generator and see how it goes for a few months. In theory I should not have to do anything but add mps/chlorine after use with both of these. B
