Seems that I have the opposite problem that most are having. I cannot get the Alkalinity to get above 40 without jacking up the PH. Using the Taylor test kit on a 500 gal. Royal spa, Bromine system with Ozonator, Circulating pump runs 24/7. Calcium Hardness 200. I tried one procedure from here; get the PH around 7.2 and add baking soda to get the Alk up around 80 and then adding a little acid each time to get the PH to 7.5. PH does come down eventually but by then Alk is back to 40. Is there a better way to do this? The PH and the Alk seem very stable when it gets there but the saturation table is out of whack by then.
