  1. Hey folks, I'm somewhat new to pool ownership and maintenance so bear with me and while I do have a pool guy, he is very slow to get back to me and very quick to overcharge on things (tried charging me $115 to replace a $12 foot on my pool vacuum) so I'm considering tackling this issue myself. I noticed the other day that I had a small leak from the upper pipe on my pool filter had a leak which was causing the pool to not run properly (I have a waterfall that flows from the hot tub into the pool when the pool is running and it was not running properly despite the water levels being good). I turned the pool off for the time being but when I revisited it to take a picture of the leak for reference for the pool guy, the fitting popped and water sprayed everywhere. Essentially, the coupling (the spinning piece that joins the pipes) blew off and a rubber o-ring was left hanging around the male threaded pipe coming off of the filter. I'm hoping this is as simple as putting the o-ring back where it goes and tightening the coupling. I've attached some pictures to hopefully illustrate my issue. Before I go out and waste more water, I thought I would run this by you all and get some advice. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Kris
