  1. I have a pillow that looks perfect but has degraded underneath and is putting many little pieces of the pillow coating into the water. Do these just get replaced or is there some coating that can be put on the pillow underneath to make them last a little longer?
  2. Are these things standard size? Can I get these at Home Depot?
  3. Excellent info - thanks Dave
  4. Here is the picture after I cut away insulation. What do you suggest I need for parts? Can I use any coupler with flex on one side and rigid on the other? I don't think I can re-use the part that connects to the pump again? Looks like it may be too short after I cut out the gate valve?
  5. Can I buy the required PVC/glue etc... from Home Depot or do I need to go to a spa place? Also, is it possible to just use a Fernco adapter to connect the pipes instead of the glue?
  6. Thanks Dave - that is a really good point.
  7. ok - thanks! will try that.... The handle seems seized anyway - might be better to just replace....
  8. I have a steady flow that looks like it is coming from this gate valve. It has 4 screws in the corners which I cannot see how I can possibly get to these ( I can get to one). I wanted to try to tighten the 4 screws first and if that doesn't fix it - I guess I will replace it. What is the normal procedure for this? Do you normally just start tearing out the foam insulation to get to the screws? Any input would be appreciated!
  9. I have an older 240V Balboa hot tub with a heating issue. The topside panel looks fine, when heat is required the heat light is coming on with no error codes. I am only getting 120V from one of the hot lines going to the heater, one of the relays on the board is not closing to allow the other 120V from getting to the other heater terminal. Does this sound like I need a new circuit board? and if so, do I need to replace it with exact same board or is there a generic one that may be cheaper? Mine board is a Spa Builders LX-10 Rev 5.31. Thanks, Craig.
  10. My tub is having intermittent issues heating, would call for heat and the heat light would come on, but the heater would only come on very sporadically. This is my board: http://www.spaandpoolsource.com/lx10-spa-builders-circuit-board-sundance.aspx I started tracing the 240V with my meter and followed one line to a relay and on to the heater - this one was working fine. I traced the other line into 2 relays in series. The voltage was going through the first relay correctly and then never made it to the output of the second relay. So I pulled the wire off and bypassed the second relay and sure enough heater is working perfect now. I tested this setup and the heater is cycling fine with the thermostat and I even pulled off a wire from the flow sensor and that also turned off the heater correctly. Am I risking anything running like this? Not sure if the second relay was shot or whatever sensor that was connected to it was shot. Maybe hi heat sensor??? All opinions welcomed.
