  1. I have been considering a salt system for my spa. Obviously my main concerns are about corrosion. One thing I do not understand is how quickly do they make chlorine? If I have a light bather load during the week, and a heavy bather load during the weekends is it easy to adjust these systems to compensate up or down for chlorine demand? And how quickly do they respond? Does anyone have any experience with the saltron mini?
  2. I have now owned a hot tub for about 3 weeks. I feel like I have gotten the hang of maintaining water chemistry. The only times I have a difficult time maintaining the water is when there are heavy bathing loads. On a few occasions on the weekends there have been times when there are people constantly in and out of the tub for 18+ hours straight. I am wondering if it would be appropriate to use a tablet floater during these occasional times of heavy long duration use. The manufacturer of the tub advises against using floaters but I feel like it my be the only option to maintain sanitary water during heavy use. My tub holds around 300 gallons of water. Thoughts?
  3. So I just bought a hot tub and have been using it for about a week. I have never owned a hot tub or pool so I really don't have any knowledge of chlorine or maintaining water quality. I think I just realized that I am using the wrong type of chlorine according to the manual that came with my hot tub. I bought, and have been using "aqua chem optimum chlorinating granules." I have been checking my water quality regularly with test strips and I have been having a hard time maintaining my chlorine level. I just went back and read my owners manual and it said "a granulated sodium dichlor is recommended." It goes on to say "never use sodium trichlor in any form including a tablet." Well after reading the label on my aquachem I have discovered that it is sodium trichlor. My question is can I go buy some granulated sodium dichlor and add it to the water or do I need to drain and refill at this point? Thanks in advance for reading this.
