  1. I bought a home with a older hot tub, has two pumps (1 speed, and 2 speed) I had to turn the spa so the pump side now faces the home and the noise level has increased 2 to 3x. After some troubleshooting, I found much of the noise entering the house is from vibration of the enclosure when the circulation pump is on (pump that turns on when the heater is on) When I remove the doors (looks like PVC material/panels) in front of the pump, the noise going into the home reduces a ton to become almost unnoticeable. (of course, this is way less energy efficient as much of the heat is also leaving through the open cavity) Any recommendations on mitigating the vibration? I thought of a few things... adding mass with plywood/MDF - the downside here is there is not much rooms inside the cavity and putting the doors on is already a royal PITA. adding mass with mass loaded vinyl - this is expensive, especially if it does not work well. adding closed cell foam - this is relatively inexpensive but not sure how much it will dampen the vibration and reduce the sound transmission fro the pump anyone have ideas and/or dealt with this before? thx!
  2. I'm looking to replace a Balboa M7 5.5KW heater element. What is the difference (which is better and why) between Tefel coated & Titanium? Also, what is the cost of each. I searched the web but could not find any info comparing the two. Thank you for the help
  3. What is the normal OHM reading on Balboa M7 5.5KW? The OHM reading is 12-13... so it is not broken. Could it just need a cleaning? The spa is a Keys Backyard 211D... uses a Balboa VS510Sz
  4. I emptied my hot tub for the summer and today starting it up again (refill, etc). Looks like the heater is causing the breaker to trip... as soon as i see the heater light turn on the breaker trips. (It ran for 12 months prior without issue) ... is there a fix for this other than buying a new heater? ... the heater element might have been dry, or sitting in dirty water for 3-4 months BUT When I turn on the breaker (one next to the tub) I don't get error codes, just this: 137 - 65 - 24 - 24 - PR I primed the pumps and let it run for a few minutes – that went fine - does not trip the breaker. I can turn it on and let it run for almost exactly 2 minutes, then trips the breaker (one next to tub, not main panel) - I think because the heater kicks in after 2 minutes? I can get it running again by turning off/on the breaker – I don’t get any error codes. I tested: temp sensors… 40ohm – based on the temp/ohm chart this is correct for the water temp heating element… 12-13 Ohm Thank you for the help! Aaron
  5. Use Case: Winter - use is 3 or 4 times a week Summer - use is 2-3 times a week ... sometimes we are not home for a week at a time so levels need to maintain during that time. My tub does not have an Ozinator Questions... 1. Bromine is expensive but is floating Bromine tabs the lowest effort and most reliable for my situation? 2. Should I also dose with bleach or dichlor after every use? 3. How much Bromine should I be buying at a single purchase? The price drops quite a bit when you buy 25lbs or more. 4. Anyone have a use case like mine - what do you do and use? 5. Where are you guys buying your chems to get the best price? thanks!
  6. I bought a home with a KeysBackyard spa... has a VS Spa Pack. I have two 2100 Ohm POTs so I can mod this to raise the temp. Do I need to install the POTs on BOTH probes going into the heater tube? The probes plug into two separate 2-pin receivers on the control board. thank you all for the help... I'm new and this forum has really helped educate me about owning a spa (my first one)!
