  1. Thanks for the input. I just came back from testing the Bullfrog and found the lounger to be most comfortable but when I sat on the cooling seat (where your feet stay on this particular lounger) I came to realize that its more important to have a cooling seat than a lounger. The problem that I did find is that there were a few seats that I couldn't get comfortable in as I started floating from side to side and when I leaned back my feet would float up. I weigh about 110 lbs. but I didn't think that it would cause such floating problems. It's too bad because I really did like the looks and the different jets that this spa provides. I hope to have better luck with the Catalina. Who knows! Thanks for the input. 2. I'll be wet testing the Bullfrog today and the Catalina Spas on Sunday.
  3. I've found two reputable spa places that sell the above spas. I can't decide between them. Need as much info from people who either have them or know much about them. Also, lounger or no lounger?
  4. Okay. So odor hasn't been an issue with your spa. Which style do you own and for long have you owned it?Would you recommend a lounge, if so, why?
  5. Thanks for the info. Good to know that it can be done and that I don't have to ask someone to check my tub while I'm away.
  6. How long have you had your 451? Have you had any problems with odor coming from behind the jets? I've noticed people stating this fact or fiction. You find the foot well to be okay for you? Do you like and use the seating section that is half out of the water? Looking forward to hearing your views.
  7. There is a possibility that we will be going away this winter. Can spas be closed for a certain period of time or does it have to be kept opened all year long? I am talking months here.
  8. Sorry, I meant to put this in the pool and spa forum, not the inground swimming pool section.
  9. The 451 is a tad smaller than what I want. That is why I'm torn between the 682, no lounger, a little more foot room and foot jets compared to a 662, with a lounger, but a little less foot room. Are you a very tall person, meaning 6' or so. If so, how comfortable are you in a spa of these sorts. Do you find that there is not enough leg room for you? I'm short and that's why I'm asking. It's hard to decide when you can't see both models in the store. Again, thanks for the info.
  10. I visually and physically (without water) tested a few spas today and so far have found the Bullfrog to be a very nice spa. I am only 5'2" and found it quite comfortable for myself but am a little afraid about having people with longer legs than I go in it. I almost felt as though I was lounging while sitting in the regular seats. Unfortunately I only got to sit in the 662 which has a lounger which has a bit smaller foot well. I loved the lounger (again it was without water) and am anxious about going for a wet test. My dilema is that since this is my first time in purchasing a spa I don't know whether to get a lounger or not. We do have quite a bit of company but I think the first people to please is myself and my family. Without the lounger, the 682, it comes with 6 actual seats, just as the 662, but with a higher elevated section that could sit 1-2 people who would also be halfway in/out of the water and the foot well would be a bit larger with foot jets. Since I already feel as though I am lounging in a regular seat, should I just choose the 662 or should I go for that extra AH moment and go for the lounger. My family doesn't care what I get as long as it's a hot tub and since they don't want to come out and wet test with me, I'm in a bit of dilema in choosing one to accomodate everyone. HELP!!!

I am only 5'2" and find it quite comfortable for myself but am a little afraid about having people with a lot longer legs than I go in it. I almost felt as though I was lounging while in a sitting position. I'm sure I'll feel a bit differently once I do a wet test. I also sat in the 662 which has a lounger. It felt wonderful on the dry test run. Hopefully it will feel even better during the wet test! I can't decide whether or not to get a spa with or without a lounger. The 682 comes with no lounger but with a bit larger foot well with the volcano jets but a rise for 1-2 people to sit on leaving you halfway in/out of the water. This is my first spa that I am seriously considering but am looking to please too many people. Should I not worry about it being so low that I feel too comfortable in and worry that others who are taller won't get the same physical experience as I do or do I just please myself? The rest of my family are 5'7" - 6'0 tall and they don't care what I get as long as it's a hot tub! Since none of them want to come and test the spas out with me I'm kind of in a dilema. HELP!!!
  12. Thanks for the info. I guess I was trying to see as many spas in one place and to try and narrow down my choices as to what to go and see at the actual spa dealerships.
  13. I am very much interested in going to a Pool & Spa Expo to get the most up to date information on today's new spas. I just saw a message in regards to Novi, Michigan having one this weekend but unfortunately it's too late to go to that one. Anyone knowing of some up incoming shows in the near future in these areas?
  14. So far, I've only actually seen the Bullfrog (Beachcomber is at the same place but they haven't come in yet) and Catalina's, both very nice. The only thing that I don't like about the Bullfrog is that the seats are all the same height. Catalina has more of a footwell. I haven't sat in anything yet, just observing everything. Eye candy for sure! I wanted to get more information from people before I actually went out and started asking some serious questions. I want to be a bit more knowledgeable about spas so that I can make a wise decision in choosing one.
