  1. That is the ozone hose, it won't leak if the power is on because it sucks air when the circulation pump is on. It broke right at the check valve. You need to get a new check valve and reconnect. The other end will be dangling up above somewhere (It loops around up high in the motor compartment). I checked and found there is stiill a hose connected to the ozone. Is there suppose to be 2? I didn't see anywhere on the ozone equipment that suggested another hose connection? I also did not see any dangling hose from the upper area of the motor compartment.... I'm stumped??
  2. My tub started leaking so I pulled off the front cover to see if I could find the source and found a hose hanging loose. I marked the hose in the photo attached and wanted to know if someone here could tell me where the loose end shown on the right is suppose to attach? The spa is a 2006 HS Vanguard purchased 2.5 yrs ago. When I shut off power, water started pouring out of this hose until all the water was out of the tub... thanks,
  3. $8k is a better price then I paid for mine FWIW. I think HotH2O is just being a smart a$$, otherwise he would have given a worthwhile response. You get what you pay for, is what I figure. If money is an issue then saving $2k might be a primary issue to consider. If you want better input to your questions go to the Hot Tub and Spa Forum. It has much more activity and better info IMO.
  4. I have a Vanguard and have been totally happy with it to date (have had it now aprox 2 months). I don't have any experience with the Jacuzzi, but my personal reason for going with the HS was proven quality and 100% filtration. This is just MY personal reason, not saying any other design is not good. Good luck in your search.
  5. I thought they were going out of business? I know the Phoenix dealer near my place went out of business about 6 months ago. Check out this link of the Phoenix Spa factory and associated story. It will change your mind about considering their product. http://www.selberg.org/~speed/havenspas/fi...ory/factory.htm
  6. Not likely you will find a tub similar to the Costco for $5k-$6k. Everything I was looking at was in the $7k-$10k range and the only thing you will find in the lower range are the very small tubs...... There is nothing wrong with the Costco tubs as mentioned numerous times on previous threads. jmendoza17, I hope you get your issues worked out but it does seem that your problem is not the norm. There are far more happy Costco owners then dis-satisfied ones.
  7. I has bothered me how the hot tub dealers work pretty much like the used car salesman. You don't know the prices because none are listed, and you haggle for all you can get, if you are good at doing that sort of thing. I personally am not one that can haggle for a bargain, and really don't like to spend my time doing so. My wife on the other hand likes to do that so I let her wheel-n-deal. I'd much prefer to just see prices and buy what I want without the game.
  8. Exactly....and the same logic can be used for a car engine. Which would be better, 100% air filter or a couple by-pass filters to allow better air flow for better performance (but also allow dirt into the engine).
  9. No circular argument at all. HS advertises itself as the ONLY 100% no-bypass system. This spa is 100% no-bypass which makes it a HS spa IMO. If not, HS would need to adjust their advertising. All other spa's manufactured by Watkins does not fall into this catagory other then being made by the makers of HS.
  10. No by-pass cans in the foot area plus 100% non-bypass filtration = Hot Springs.
  11. Store cleanliness, organization of displays and well dressed employees. For first impression this all matters to me. Sales person should be professional, knowledgable or willing to admit at least when they don't know something and not slam other brands to make their own look good. Just pointing out the plus side of the spa's they offer is all that is necessary. My 2cents.
  12. About the Costco tub..... As I had mentioned a month or so ago I had investigated the possibility of purchasing one. During my investigation of cost I found a hot tub moving company that would haul the tub from Costco to my house and set it in place for aprox. $250 (20 mile drive from Costco to my home). Wiring the tub would still have been the same cost, but I would not have had a dealer trained delivery person to show me how to load the chemicals and such. The Costco is a do-it-yourself tub. For those who like to tinker or do their own work its not a big deal. There are always going to be spa dealers out there who would come service a tub no matter who makes it if that need ever occured. Working on a hot tub would be much easier then working on my Nissan Quest......its not like it takes a college degree. As stated, I ended up buying the HS Vanguard mostly because its what the wife wanted. The Costco tub was in the running though because I'm a do-it-yourself kinda guy.
  13. Maybe you could give one of these Home Depot hot tubs a try!
  14. I returned a TV 1 1/2 years after I purchased it and got a full refund. I asked a friend of mine who works in Costco corporate how long and he said 'as long as its in their computer system they will give a refund, there is no time limit except on computers'. So, there is no 1 year limit to return and ethics play no part. Its just the policy and if you chose to take advantage of it or not. He said the people who abuse the system the most are the management that works there. He says they return computers just before their 6 month limit and keep getting new ones..
  15. Well, buy the Costco tub and use it for 2 years then return it for full refund. Who else could you get that kind of deal from, and you don't even need an excuse to return it.
