  1. Much appeciated. I am only guesing on the temp due to using a hanging thermometer in the tub. Our controls are just a dial, so exact temp is not known. I know it is probably about 1-2 degrees hotter than I actually need it, but man it feels good. Are there timers available for hardwired tubs which do not have one built in? My only option right now (without addig a timer of some sort) is to manually turn it down. It was off for three hours Sunday, and it appeared to have only dropped 1 degree in three hours (top was on, and secured down). Again, only a guess. I went in it an hour later, and it was as hot as it ever is. With the two of us here, our energy consumption is pretty low. I expect it to go up, but do not feel it necessary to throw money away if I can help it.
  2. Thank you guys. This tub (Jetsetter) is exactly what I had hoped it would be for us. We may go bigger next year, so this is sort of our "practice" tub. We said the same thing about our house...21 years ago. This little tub is just right for two.
  3. I use my tub twice a day (once after working out, and once before bed). It stays around 103 at all times. Am I doing it wrong? I do not want to wear things out prematurely, or run up a huge electric bill if I can avoid it.
  4. I have a box which I purchased at Menards which has 1 single 50 amp GFCI breaker in it. I have the little jumpers set correctly, but the panel instructions say there are two jumpers required on the wiring terminal. There is one between 5 and 6, and there appears to be one between 7, and the terminla next to it, which is not numbered. This may not be a jumper, as it looks like it is not remaoveable. I just checked the tub (I had it set all the way up), and the heater light is ff, and the thermometer reads 108. That water is way too ot now, and I turned it back down. Looks like I just got impatient with it. Will the heater kick back on, or will it need to be reset. I have this box: http://www.toolking....CFelFMgodglIAqQ As I look deeper into this, it appears as though I have the wrong box. Did I waste a lot of time and money on this so far, or am I ok. It looks like one of the terminals that should have a hot wire running to it, does not have one. My water is hot, the circ pump is circulating, the light works and the jets all work. What am I not getting with that one wire seemingly not conected? If I need the other box (with two seperate breakers), can I add individual wires to the existing 6/3 I already installed? Edit #5: Do you know what what each terminal (1-7) powers in the tub?
  5. Did you ever resolve this. I am having a similar issue.
  6. Also, what color should the two lights be inside the control panel. I have one green and one red.
  7. Got it all hooked up. How long should it take for the spa t come up to temp. On the control panel, it shows 3 of the 4 jumpers being used for 220. Am I reading that wrong?
  8. In the process of wiring my tub now (220). There are no jumpers in the fuse box at all. The tub was running on 110 when I bought it. What can I do to configure ther panel correctly at this point? Are the jumpers available. Is there anoter optin beynd ordering them from Ht Springs. The tub is a 98. Thank you.
  9. So I should have the GFCI cord plugged into a GFI outlet? Or can I use a regular outlet as long as the cord has a good GFCI on it. Thanks for the quick reply.
  10. I will be picking up my "new to me" 1997 Hot Springs Jetsetter next weekend. As much research as I did on Spas/Hot tubs, this one seemed well taken care of and ran/operated fine. After speaking with the owner for a while, we decided to buy it. I only had/have one concern. There is a button below the pump button which he told me activates a cleaning cyce. That function does not currenty work (may be a button issue, or something else) The owner said this would not be an issue with the overall function of the tub. Now I am concerned maybe I should have investigated this function prir to purchasing. I am also planning to run this in 110v mode util I can get my elcrical panel updated (in about 3 weeks). Can I simply run this from a dedicated outlet with a GFI plug, or am I risking my life by doing this. I can wait until I get my panel done if necessary. I thought it might be nice to begin using the tub in 110 mode until I can get the 220 installed. I know these are novice questions. I apprecate any help.
