  1. No warranty? I have an Arctic Spa, paid +$10,000 for it and had it for 3 years. They have a 5 year warranty. I have had them out to fix at least one item per year. each a part that cost upward of $1000. That being said, if you are getting it for $3000 and you pay another $2K - $3K in warranty repairs (that's on the high end) over the next few years you're still getting a $10,000 hot tub for $6k. I'd say, how could you go wrong?
  2. I refilled the tub Wednesday. (Arctic Spas Yukon) Everything seemed to operate as expected it heated up no problem but Thursday I noticed that it seemed to be constantly running. By the evening I adjusted the temp down (was 99 changed to 98) then heater switched off. Friday I noticed the same thing. I also looked at the power consumption (est. $200/day yikes!!). So what to do? I noticed there was a firmware update for the tub. I ran the update. When it was done, the tub rebooted. Now it won't run at all. Lights flashing, shows the error code HPt which refers to the Hi-‐limit Probe. Frustrating, this is the second time after a refill I've had it puke on me. Conveniently I only figure out it is a real problem after 4:30pm on a Friday. You can't even call support until Monday @ 8:30am and its going to be -2 Celsius tomorrow. Anyone else seen this issue or offer any feedback? Thx.
  3. So here is what I believe has happened. When I ran the GFt test, you're right, it shut off pump 1 lo. Some how when I turned on the breaker it was able to heat the tub using pump 1 hi. but after 88 degrees, (must be a delorean) is uses pump 1 lo and that when it starts to act up. I ran through the GFt sequenece to see what components were off and P1L was 0. I turned it back to 1 and reset my tub. Funny, the temp was automatically set to 88 degrees?? once I set it to 98 it started to heat normally. checked again this morning and the system appears to be normal still. WTH?
  4. to add, I am getting message on the app stating "heater cool down" noticed this after a breaker reset.
  5. So thank you for this. Although I'm not sure what happened I attempted this but I did not get the same results as in this video. I had weird pulsating and strange messages on the LCD panel. However after another reset of the breaker it seems to be ok. heating on pump one only. It eventually finished heating all the way. BUT! Today I went in to use the tub and noticed the lights were flashing in a pattern and the water was cooling. My arctic spa app is telling me it senses 119 degrees at a heater and to check that all the jets are open and to reset the breaker. I've done that but still nothing. Pump 2 will come on but pump 1 will not. when I hit pump 1 on the panel it flashes GFE. I'm paranoid now because it is so cold out. I don't want anything to freeze help! thanks
  6. I refilled my 6 month old Arctic Spas tub today and now the breaker keeps tripping when it tries to heat. its about -3C outside and the water is show 38F. The heater/pumps run for about 5 mins then the breaker goes. What can I do?
  7. Well thank you very much. Although the water appeared to be down only about 1/2 inch once I topped it up the pulsating stopped. Thanks again.
  8. So I've noticed lately when I have pump 1 on high (ie pressing Pump 1 twice) the water pressure pulsates. Is this air trapped or something worse?
  9. PEAK hours. I'd prefer to have the pumps running when it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I can't only afford an arm these days. Also, the artic spas minimum filtration cycle is one hour according to my APP
  10. Thanks, but I can assure I've done all of that too. Latest firmware, and I have reset the tub power since. Still every day I can here it filtering in the morning. Let me know if there is anything else I can do. Thanks
  11. Using the iPad app I have set my peak hours for the hot tub. Yet, it is almost always doing a filtration in the morning time around 9am. It must not know the real time. How do I set the time on my spa? It does not seem to be doable via the APP. Thanks, Paul.
  12. I bought an Arctic Spa in the summer. The first month I has some issue maintaining the water chemistry but I think I have a handle on it now. I am using Bromine and Aquafinesse (AF) so I will just give you my experience. First off, Boost is essentially shock. using it once a week seems excessive. Especially if you are using the AF correctly. definitely seems to be too much sanitizer. Once a week you should only need to add your AF and 1 tablet to your floater. That should maintain pretty regular sanitizer levels. If you have heavy bather load during the week a cap full of Refresh or Boost can be used afterwards. I found with my tub the first month sanitization was difficult. My assumption is that there were contaminants that were left over from shipping plus high bath load the first few weeks. I dumped my water after the first month. Did Arctic give you the disposable filters or the ones you clean? If they are the disposables, they are good for 3 months. But the one filter that looks like a pouch (above the smaller filter) should be cleaned once a week. Remove it and turn it upside down and spray at it from the outside. You should see it start to clear out and turn back to a white colour. As for alkalinity and PH. Since I replaced my water and stuck to the AF procedure I never need to use the Spa UP/Down or Perfect balance. The key is to use the AF procedure exactly. Fill up the tub, ensure the water is balanced, heat it up, add AF and your tablet, them maybe a small amount of Boost to jump start the sanitizer. Also, don't get too obsessed with testing the water. If it is clear and there is no odor, most likely you're good. I just test now to make sure my Bromine levels are ok. And every time I do, PH and Alk are in normal ranges. I'm fairly new to tubs myself and this forum has been a great help. So while my procedure works for me you will most likely find a system that works for you after some experience. Good luck.
