  1. A hot tub delivery costs the dealer MAXIMUM 200 dollars if its less than a mile away. Maybe more like a 100 dollars. I would tell him to take off at least 1800 and include delivery. If he doesnt budge then find a different spa to buy. He is taking you to the cleaners otherwise.
  2. "China is incapable of making a car that can legally be imported. Have you been to China? I have, several times. The #1 status symbol in China? An American made car or motorcycle. The one item you can buy in America that is made in China you can brag about?....... I dunno, got a piece of the Great Wall in your living room? " I know enough about China to know that you dont KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! If I recall correctly we were discussing hot tub parts, not cars or motorcycles...
  3. Toys covered with lead? Deadly pet food? Deadly baby formula? Tires that fall apart? Posion toothpaste? http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/16/world/asia/16milk.html http://www.forbes.com/2007/07/26/china-manufacturing-quality-ent-manage-cx_kw_0726whartonchina.html http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/04/business/worldbusiness/04iht-food.5.6497264.html Seriously, did you drink some Chinese Kool-Aid? My wife is Chinese, and she knows better than to buy Chinese stuff. I didnt say everything made in China is better. Way to take it outta context. I know lots of things made in the USA that are total crap. It doesnt mean that everything made in the US is horrible
  4. Spa Guru your theory about not being able to maintain long term relationships with dealers is proven wrong with me. I have been buying, selling, and servicing Arctic Spas since day one. Our relationship is great, and I wouldnt ever consider carrying another line, and trust me I am constantly pursued by ALL the major brands. You obviously have an axe to grind with Arctic, and tht is fine I guess, but I have actual buying, selling, servicing experience with Arctic and can tell you that they are fantastic to deal with. It would seem Lummer and Wannabe would disagree, if I have made innacurate statements regarding Arctic, enumerate them, you say "Day one"? 12 years you have been dealing Arctic? US? Canada? Or do you mean day one of opening your dealership? I am the very first Arctic Spa dealer in the US. I have bought, sold, serviced Arctics for 13 years now. The quality of product that Arctic puts out today is excellent, whether you believe it or not. Did Arctic go through some growing pains? Yes, very much so. But they were always willing to help us dealers and spaowners out during the process. I am sure you know the industry in and out, as do I. I believe their are many great brands available. And yes Arctic is very much in that mix. You can throw out the whole chinese parts manufactured thing all you want but that is SOOOO 1990's! Many Chinese manufacturers have stepped up the quality of their products above and beyond those that are made in the USA.

  6. The customer can also decide not to purchase the bluetooth/wifi at the time of purchase but can easily upgrade at a later date. It just plugs right into the board. Plus the boards now have a "USB" port so any software updates can be done easily with a memory stick. I'm sure that most manufacturers have this option but its nice to have it on the Arctics now too.
  7. There is no phone cord. It sends signals via wifi, and Bluetooth technology. It really is a good technological advancement for the hot tub industry.
  8. It sounds like something wouldnt use often, but if I were able to occasioanlly log in and ramp up temp from economy mode, or simply check on the tub( and subsequent power supply feeding tub and cabin) after a big snow storm, that would save me a lot of time and grief considering my cabin is over an hour away. I too wonder what the replacement cost would be. When SHopping for tubs, the Arctic dealer int own showed me this new option, but said that he would be including it on new tub purchases to start out with, so I never got to see what it would 'cost.' To me, it seems like any other non essential option ( lights, stero, etc)...fine and cool during the time period it works and during warranty, but not really likely to replace it once it breaks after the fact. The cost to replace the wifi on the pack or the bluetooth on the pack would be very minimal. Obviously every dealer has their own margins and cost but, I would estimate it between 150 to 200 dollars to replace after warranty. As far as the circ pump goes, I think Arctic now puts them on so the competition has one less thing to combat us with. I still dont think they do all that much, (the water flow they create is very minimal) but that arguement really doesnt matter anymore since we have them. The wifi/bluetooth technology is different than any other brand supplies to this day, they actually have a app available on the Apples app store now for download. As far as turning lights on from the house, with Arctics new perimeter lighting that is attached to the cabinet of the spa its convenient to be able to turn the lights on before heading out to the spa for some extra light. These are things that some people wont care about, but some do, and Ive had several that have bought 2011 spas for these accessories already. just my .02 cents
  9. I just want to see Arctic represented properly as a brand, they are as good as any spa made. Im not saying that they are the best, to say that is just opinion. They are among the very best though, with no one spa manufacturer being the best. Funny you brought up shows, we do shows every year and compete against Sundance, Hot Spring, Master, Emerald, Calspa, Bullfrog. Everyone has all been well represented throughout the years. I expanded our booths this year, and have attended every show, while only the Hot Spring Dealer has shown up at all. He was only in one other show with me so far. So just cause Arctic wasnt represented at yours doesnt mean they arent elsewhere. I have been around for years on the board just like anyone else. I come and go mainly cause our busy seasons fluctuate so much, and sometimes the constant banter that Arctic is all marketing and nothing more, quite frankly gets tiresome. If they were strictly just a marketing company they wouldnt be in the business for as long as they have been.
  10. The arctics don't cost that much. sorry, nice try bro! Ummmmm here is some real stats for you bro. Here in Northern Minnesota Arctic is available in the MPLS/STpaul area. A buddy brought his with him up here when he move and I was hired to move it and help him set it up. Can't remember the model but it was 7.5x7.5 average tub. He loved it and it seemed solid when we moved it. Down there he paid up to 80 bucks in our winters at .09 per KWH REAL STUFF. So claim what you will. His average was right around 30-40 per month just like several other brands. No magic sorry. arctic doesnt make a 7.5 by 7.5 bro
  11. Bought and paid for by Arctic...now that's reliable!!!!! And then to get stommped by the competition...LOL Yep good move keep using those results. Their is other testing about to occur, and it won't be done by Arctic or initiated by Arctic. The proof will be in the pudding. Keep taking jabs!
  12. Its not gimmicky, and your right it is a STEP above EVERYONE else. Dangit Blue Falls your supposed to be eight steps ahead! Although Ill argue that it has way more functionability than what your giving it credit for. (go figure) To be able to turn seats on and off with the touch of a button, stream music wirelessly from your smartphone, and within 6 months be able to check the status of your Arctic Spa from ANYWHERE, whether your on vacation, home, or work. And that control pad may do some of this stuff at the spa but it DOESNT do it from anywhere. Have you even seen it function yet? Oh, thats right you havent. From that discription alone it sounds pretty gimmicky to me. Who needs any of that? Just one more way to over complicate something that should be kept simple. Hope Arctic has better luck with that control than they have had getting their salt chlorination system to work. On the otherhand it does fit into Arctic's philosophy of over-hyping any and all aspects of their tubs. Its very simple to use. I like the functions myself, but If I were a competing spa dealer I wouldnt like it either, and instead of asking for more from my manufacturer I would throw my hands up and call it gimmicky!
  13. comparing technology ten years ago to technology being produced today isn't even possible. Technology today is light years ahead of ten years ago.
  14. Huh, I coulda swore your name was Robert. My bad. Dang gimmicky memory of mine.
