  1. Hi everyone, I am interested in buying a used 2009 Sundance Altamar in Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm looking to hire a mechanic to evaluate its condition before I would buy. Are there any mechanics near Charlotte who know this model who would be interested? If so, you can reply to this thread or email me at mjgold1 [@] gmail.com. Please let me know how much you would charge. Thanks! Mark
  2. Hi everyone, I am looking to buy a used Sundance Altamar in good condition that is less than five years old. I live in the Bay Area but am open to transporting cross-state. If you know of one, you can reach me at mjgold1 [at] gmail. Thanks! Mark
  3. Hi, I am thinking about buying an older model Sundance Altamar and trying to retrofit it with Sundance's new technology, such as the Fluidix jets and ClearRay system. Does anyone know the Altamar models for which this would be possible? Would it be cost effective? For example, a new 2013 Altamar in my area costs around $10,000. I see 2002 Altamar models selling for around $1,500. If I could get the total retrofitting cost to around $5,000, I'm tempted to do it. I don't know if that's possible or not. Thanks!
  4. Hi all, I am ready to buy a Sundance Altamar and would like to find the best price available. I live in Northern California but am open to buying anywhere in the U.S. and transporting the Altamar assuming the transport costs make up for any difference to buying locally. Do folks know what the best price available would be? Separately, I can buy a refurbished 2005 Altamar with a 120-day warranty for $4,000, which would include delivery, cover, ozonator, and new micro-filter. The refurbisher has not been in a business long and there is certainly a risk of additional repairs, which is why I am considering buying new. Does this seem like a good choice? Thanks!
  5. Spa_Guru, that makes sense. I'll pass on this listing. Thanks for all your advice!
  6. Hi all, I am considering buying a 1999 well-kept Sundance Altamar (with cover and accessories) on Craigslist for $900. The circuit board was replaced in 2005. What do you think of buying a model this old if it was cared for well? Has the model changed much since then? Thanks! Mark
  7. Hi everyone, I am in Palo Alto, California (Silicon Valley) and looking to buy a high-end hot tub. The one I most like so far is the Sundance Altamar. I would love opinions on two questions: 1. What do people think of the Altamar? 2. What would be a good price for one in this area? Any dealers that are especially good? Thanks! Mark
