  1. I would recomend the Caldera Niagra. It has a very good company behind it, and you get lot of tub for the $. Go with your original instict, go with the Niagra hot tub.
  2. I would recomend taking the tub out of Economy mode. Despite it's name, "Economy Mode" isn't necessarly the most efficent mode. It's actually ment for very warm weather. In the colder months, you want to run your tub in "normal" mode...if you can set filter cycle times, this is the time of year to increase them. Keep the water temp up at what you soak at.
  3. Is there anything out there on the market that eliminates ice and snow buildup on a hot tub cover ? Urine.
  4. Ok...just 1 month shy of 2 years with the Nordic Crown XL and I'm happy to report it still works and looks as good as first day. No service issues at all since we got it, water maintenance is a breeze and it maintains the set temp perfectly. Couldn't be more satisfied with the purchase and I'd recommend one to anyone looking for a round tub. The only downside is that it does use a bit more energy than I'd like but I haven't added any insulation to the cabinet despite plans to do so. For the price we paid and the enjoyment we get out of it, I've been willing to deal with the few extra $ it costs to run it. Same here Hello You have posted that you were having a problem with getting the temperature above 100 degrees. Has that been corrected? What was the problem? Did you ever upgrade the cover? Has that made any difference for you? You once said you were ordering a better cover. Did you ever get the insulation blanket that you spoke about? If so, can you tell me where you purchased these from (And would you recommend them to others?) Do they work well? Are you still wrapping sleeping bags around the tub to keep it warm? Thank you.
  5. Maybe I will take it off our website, and let people pay outrageous bills. What type of person thinks like this? It's like some creepy misdirect dysfunctional threat. Can you imagine a clerk in the store saying that? "What? You don't want to buy this DVD player? It's the best! What if I just take if off the shelf so NO ONE can buy it then? Huh, would that make you happy?" Or the local car wash "What? you don't want your car washed? Fine! I'll just close this shop up and NO ONE will get a clean car!" Or a Waitress "You don't want to order the fish? Well then I am going to go into the kitchen and throw out all the fish so no one will get any!" Honestly, what type of person responds that way when you say no " thankyou?"
  6. Did anyone else notice this? Trigger makes this statement: And Mr Willard prompty goes there. Jwillard, you add nothing to this forum.
  7. It was you, in the 3rd or 4th post of this thread that "jumped" in and started making this about Costco VS. the world. It was you who started chastising people for not understanding it, or getting it. It seems it's you who rushes in. This thread seems to have turned into the same old posts because some one derailed it, right around the 3rd or 4th post.
  8. I don't think the word "haters" is appropriate. I think it's funny that you create and put yourself in the "Costco Gang" and group others as "haters†(kind of like an "us" vs. "them" scenario). Do you work in public relations for Al Sharpton? What's even stranger is you claim folks "rush in" and then "complain". This thread was started by a former Costco owner who returned his tub and purchased another, and posed the question that if there was a tub that had the Costco pricing, but lived up to its expectations, he could sell a lot of them. There is some complaining in the these threads, but we would disagree on who is doing it.
  9. Trigger, Jwillard's point is; He will disagree with anyone he believes is slighting his brand of tub. Only he and NW Tub Owner can comment on them, as they are the only ones with positive experience. The fact that they have very little experience shall not be discounted. Comparisons to other tubs and dealer services shall not be made, unless they are favorable to his position. Trigger, you are wasting your time with him. He doesn't get it.
  10. Then it is not more efficient, is it? Because of its many advantages over full foam, it more than pays for itself. But then again why would I expect a Hot Spring sales man to even begin to understand that? There is not one single correct statement made in that post James. Every word you typed is 100% wrong.

  14. New NW tub owner, If you don't mind, where do you live, and how long have you owned your tub? Thanks!
  15. Great point. Costco has been selling hot tubs for at least 6 years. The tubs they've been selling in their stores for the last two years (aka Platinum Elite 1&2, Legend Elite) have attracted quite a bit of attention from the hot tub dealers, such as in this forum, because they're pretty solid tubs with a lot of features for a very competitive price. 6 years? That to me doens't sound like a long time at all. And the attention in this forum really seems to come from just a couple of people who are over the top (in my opinion) about the tub and not because "they're pretty solid tubs".
  16. She is being told by a co-worker that his tub fro Costco costs a fortune to operate in the winter "I guess if it doesnt matter what any one tells you, and as long as you feel it was a good deal, that's all that counts?" I guess that's one way to look at it.....I FEEL I got a good deal, therefore I DID get a good deal. But I would like to have more objective information. Anyone have one of these tubs for more than 5 years, who lives in a snow climate, and can compare it to other brands?
  17. JWillard, You bought the tub in Febuary? Do you live in an area that it gets snow? Have you any data on much it costs to heat in the winter in the snow? My sister lives in New Hampshire and it gets cold. She is being told it could cost her $100+ a month to heat in the winter. You rated the foot jets an "8"? What does that mean? (8 out of 10?). What other foot jets are you comparing them too? Are they better than the foot jets in the Chelsee?
  18. Ditto! My sister in law is also considering one of these -and I agree! Only owners shoudl answer! I want unbiased answers and data! Owners, also please document the costs to operate the spa, and where you live. What does it cost in the winter? Is it true these are made by Master Spa? What other tubs did you acutally wet test and can compare it to? What other tubs have you owned? What can you honestly compare it to? How long have you owned the tub? Thanks!
  19. Jim, don't forget to wear your magic red sweater!
  20. " I had someone put all my old files in the basement and they did not label them so I could find it." Did you look in the box that has all your engineering degrees in it? Or maybe it's in the box with all the letters from Santa?
