  1. ummmmmmmmm, if you're talking ripoffreport.com, I don't see anything for these companies. there are reports for other companies that have similar names, but not these two. And with a quick web search one could also question the validity of rip off report;
  2. They've been listed, on and off, for quite a while. Maybe it has something to do with a financial situation. If one doesn't pay the $25k for the year, ya don't get listed. lets see........ June of 2002 they all of a sudden appeared with a best of class rating. January of 2005 they they fell to "not rated"........ Then in March of the same year they poped up to best of class again
  3. tuke? baseball cap? DUDE! What's the difference? A hat is a hat, and as long as heavy coat, the hat doesn't matter.
  4. FYI, that "best of class" comes at a cost. Yes, any manufacturer can get the best of class rating for one year for only $25,000........... in fact, the only way to get best of class is to pay the $25k.
  5. However, searching on, Hot tubs and spas energy efficiency brings up Hot Spring Spas as #1 Kinda ironic eh?
  6. Hey Roger............... besides the big ole heavy wool shirt over 5 t-shirts, do you wear a hat? Does it matter what kind of hat it is?
  7. Sorry, but I'm with Roger on this one......... "It's clear your extreme bias just by that statement. But this the best description I could find and is from one of the managing owners of Arctic." So you're taking at face value the propaganda of the manufacturer? "A special circulation pump that is capable of performing in a highly corrosive application. The pump we use costs more then a standard jet pump." Standard? Just what is "standard? "We then need a mazzei injector to help break up the ozone so that in can more readily dissolve into solution. " The key there is "can more readily dissolve"........ it doesn't say "wil" or "does"............ Just that it "can". "Then it goes into another stainless steel off-gas chamber, which is designed to draw off any undissolved gas." Designed to? Ok, but does it actually? "The undissolved gas is then drawn through a catalytic filter, which converts the ozone back to oxygen." This in itself tells me the entire statement is a fabrication. Ozone does not convert back to O2 100%. Not even close. When the single atom of O breaks away from the O3 molicule it attaches itsel to the CLOSEST molicule it can find........ 80% of what's available is nitrogen. By their own accounts "ozone at a concentration of 1400ppm", this gives only a 14 in 10,000 chance that the O atom will combine with another O atom. "I believe Ozone is a powerful oxidizer and it's use in water treatment plants suggests it can have an effect." Yes it is, and it can. But the method of use in water treatment is SO different than in spas, one can't even begin to compare them. "I chose the upgrade in the hope of reducing chemical use (for comfort purposes)" And it does. But, not in the way most think.
  8. Oh, and I believe the movie was Napoleon Dynamite
  9. Hey Chas . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You NERD!
  10. "It is essential for our attics to have air circulation." Do you know why?........ *Jepordy theme song*........ TIMES UP! Fiberglass insulation requires a moisture barrier between it, and the "warmer" living area to prevent moisture from condensating within the fiberglass insulation..... This is great in the winter time, but what happens in the sumer time when the "warmer" area is the attic??? If you don't have air circulation in your attic the insulation will mold, mildew, and eventually become completely water saturated....... This issue has absolutely nothing to do with spas "If money or storage space was no object we would want that hot air pocket up there." Ummmmm, actually, another reason for air circulation in the atic is to cool it in the summer to help reduce the amount of heat transfered into the home....... This issue has absolutely nothing to do with spas "Hmm, did your mommy tell you to wear one big thick heavy coat or layers in the winter?" Layers, always.... But the main reason is so that when you get hot, you can remove one layer at a time........ This issue has absolutely nothing to do with spas "Does a heavy blanket or a downy layer of feathers keep you warmer?" The downy layer of feathers of course. But do you know why?........ *Jepordy theme song*........ TIMES UP! Air will only act as an insulater if the "pocket" of air is less than 1/4" in diameter. Any larger and convection occures. The convection will quickly transfer heat. Heat transfer = heat loss. THIS issue has quite a bit to do with some spas.
  11. The entire Artic test IS flawed......... unless you're installing a spa indoors. The most important parameter left out of the test was wind. Air infiltration is the #1 issue needing to be addresses with any outdoor "structure". And, the problem become worse over time as the "structure" shrinks and expands due to climate conditions, naturally cracks and settles.
  12. This is an easy fix buddy............ Bubble gum laced with super glue.. Seriously though....... We give them colored markers (the sharpies were a one time mistake), and one of the young ladies working here offers to "babysit" and entertain them.
  13. Gawd this one is so set up...................... I seem to recall a couple of years ago hotmail forgot to pay their domain name bill, and was off line for a day or so because of it.
  14. On account of I like to plays devils advocate, and give people a bad time (sometimes)........... According to the EPA and their Alternative Disinfectants and Oxidants Guidance Manual (all 360+ pages) ozone does kill bacteria................. Do you have some information that the EPA does not? Please provide a link to this data. 2 questions here..... where do you get this 10" number from? and. What makes you think ozone reverts back to O2 ????? Oh......... I'll help ya out here. only because I can copy and paste this (sorry, but I do type slowly); Ozone is O³, three atoms of oxygen combined. It's very unstable and has a "half life". In hot water the half life is about 20 minutes, in air about 2 hours (temperature has an effect on the half-life time). HALF LIFE: in air, every 2 hours 1/2 of the ozone molecules break down in to one O² molecule AND 1 oxygen atom. More danger exists from this single atom than from ozone. A single oxygen atom is called a "free radical". In simple terms, free radical atoms do not exist. They HAVE to attach to, or combine with something else. Now many would like you to believe that this oxygen atom will combine with another oxygen atom and form O² (oxygen). Problem is, there aren't really many other single oxygen atoms to combine with. 80% of our atmosphere is nitrogen and is most likely what the single oxygen atom will combine with. The result is NOx, or nitroxides . As you can tell, NOx are produced as by-product almost every time when ozone is produced from air. NOx is toxic and one of the signs of toxicity is throat irritation. Secondly, the sensitivity to NOx is very individual. It is estimated that approximately 10-15% of population is sensitive to these substances to a point that they can not tolerate even very tiny amounts.
  15. Are you a dealer, or the manufacturrer of this? With shipping, it costs more than a "regular" cover and lifter sold separately. Additionally, once you have it, you're locked into replacing the cover with a similar cover to accommodate the lifter, assuming there's a comparable style of cover when the time to replace it comes.... The site also leaves out a tremendous amount of important information about the quality of the cover, and makes a few "wild exaggerations".
