  1. Right off the bat, the bromine neutralized the Nature2 making it completely worthless. Secondly, you need to see a board certified dermatologist. It could be as simple as a reaction to hot water. And third, I have no idea why you think you can't use what's probably the best sanitizer there is....Chlorine.
  2. I'd have an EMT with a defibrillator standing by.
  3. It would be grounding out to the water...and it would only have to be a "micro" ground to trip the GFCI
  4. I'd drain it, vacuum and blow out all the lines extremely well, disconnect the equipment (maybe put the eq. in the garage). Put a good tarp over the spa (under the cover), put the cover back on and put another tarp over the top of the cover (yeah, two tarps). Make sure all the covers are very well secured...and hope for the best (should be fine)
  5. Acceptable Resistance does NOT indicate whether or not there's a short to ground. The short to ground is so minuscule, most people don't have the equipment to properly test for it. (FYI, this needs to be tested while still installed and water in the spa) the heater element was old, worn out and on the verge of going out. Changing the water cause a temp shock (with the new cold water), and possible air in the system at start up jarred the element enough to cause what you're seeing onow.
  6. Or, without a proper cover it simply can't heat up as fast as it's losing heat.
  7. "It appears that Spa Depot's cover allows one to use sunbrella at very little surcharge" I'm rather suspicious on this. Sunbrella is nearly 10 times the cost of the normal vinyl used. I've heard that RHT is now offering Sunbrella as an option. You might need to call and ask.
  8. What issue? From your description, it's works.
  9. Try pressing HEAT and JETS1 simultaneously. This should unlock it (pressing again will lock it)
  10. What does the display show? (why do you think it's "locked"?) Does it look like this;
  11. There's a retaining ring around the nozzle that gets unscrewed to remove the nozzle. The wall fitting does NOT need to be removed!
  12. The UV light box IS the ozone generator.
  13. There are, or were, some other manufacturers using a different but somewhat similar product. I have no idea though how well it worked, if at all. One I knew of had terrible wrinkling problems. I always recommended the thickest heaviest density foam you can afford. I'm near San Francisco and easily notice a difference between a 4x2, 1# compared to a 6x4, 2# cover. Personally, I think sunbrella is EXTREMELY over priced. Yes, it will last "forever", but the rest of the cover will fail long before then, requiring the entire cover to be replaced. There's no pint in having one aspect of the cover last 100 year if the rest of the cover is only going to last 8.
  14. Get a piece of plexi glass (colored?) and just glue it on with silicone.
  15. Former owner... sold out and retired almost 2 years ago. The reflective shield was reformulated by the manufacturer and as such failed miserably for this type of application. ABSOLUTELY NOT. But strength and insulating ability is effected. Click on the second question on RH cover FAQ here; http://www.rhtubs.com/covers/spacoverFAQ.htm Weight (30oz.) is an indication of thickness. Heavier vinyl is thicker. In addition to weight, there's also UV resistance and pigment stability. Both of which as as important, or more, that the weight. Skirt length is almost ALWAYS something YOU specify when ordering the cover.
  16. Obviously no ozone is going into the tub, a test kit would be a waste. The issue is NOT with the ozonator, as they don't pump ozone into the spa. The problem is either a clogged tube or a problem with the injector.
  17. DEFINE OK ! Yes, it could be a developed chemical sensitivity (easy test, change the water, add NO chemicals and use the tub the first evening and the next morning, BY YOURSELF [no one else in the tub] and see what happens). Yes it could be drying of the skin (Grovers Disease...typically only in people over 50 years old)
  18. "Heater tested fine." For the tests you were able to do. Very few, if any homeowners have the proper equipment to test for a ground fault. It's not uncommon for an older heater to have such a small hole, that it only shorts when hot (the heat causes the hole to expand to the point of allowing water to get in).
  19. Google is never wrong ;-) HOW, do you manually drain out the water. Also, where exacty is it accumulating (there's multipul layers of a cover and exaclt where it accumulates would determin what if anything can be done (as well as the cause).
  20. According to the owners manual, Shoreline is owned by; Dynasty Spas 101 Dynasty Way Athens, TN 37303 866-396-7727 good luck
