Sorry I havent been around to ruffle some feathers but I figured I needed to come back and give an update. My Hydrospa is still running strong and I havent had any issues. I still use it almost daily and still love it. I spend a lot of time on another forum for my recent purchase/hobbie. See pictures below. Be back in a year to give you an update on how my hydrospa is holding out.

Nothing has happened to me...other than I have a life other than the one coming on here arguing with you about how crappy your tub is. I never ever said anything other than how my experience has been. My tub is still running fine and I use it every night.

Hydrospa (legend 3 From Costco) 2 Major Leaks

So you are naive to think there arent some people on the forum who have created alter profiles? Like I said...pictures are worth a thousand words. I actually posted in another thread about someone who has a PE III and there was a newbie post (in favor of the PE III) right after that was very suspect. I think there are people on both sides who will do whatever it takes to feed the debate. I am not partial to one side... Turn on the IP logging and lets see...easy solution -
It will take some time for the temp to fall. With your cover on and the temp outside...they all come into play. Just set the temp for what you want it to be and it will be fine. Here in florida I can have the temp set to 101 and my water can be 107 due to the temp outside.

Its definitely not needed but I kind of like mine just to add turbulence in the tub. I mainly use it when adding chems though. I hear a lot of people say it cools the water but I have never noticed my tub lose temp by running it but maybe because I never let it run long enough. It adds a different sensation when you sit in a seat that has the blower jets.

Good luck!! Hell if they dont do you right take it back and just buy another. Did you pay for someone to deliver? Either way let us know how it turns out. Pics would be nice... -
Doesn't Homer Simpson work @ nuclear power plant? Would you let Homer work on your spa??

IP logging is your friend! Just so happened to buy a hydrospa and then stubble in here to complain....sounds bogus to me. Its the cynical side of me...sorry. How do you know the leaks are major? Have you even called Hydrospa? How would this be any different if you purchased the tub through a dealer? Go the same route...call hydrospa and see what you need to do to correct the issue. -
Since I am at work I dont have the time to chase them down but are there not similar post of people who bought their tub through a dealer and they received no satisfaction? I have read stories where people have received used/floor model when they actually felt they were getting a new tub or had leaks or similar issues as the ones you posted links to. Granted there are going to be issues with tubs purchased both ways but when its a tub bought through costco/big box its a POS. If its through a dealer its ok because they have a dealer to fall back on? As a consumer that gives me little pleasure or satisfaction.

I don't think anyone has bashed those so called premium tubs as you have stated. I actually think my message has and will continue to be you can buy a tub through other means and not just a dealer and still get a good deal. I personally dont know enough about the components of any of the tubs to state one is better than the other. What I have done is give my experience of owning this tub...never stated I worked on one...never stated my Platinum is better than X...never bashed any other tub. If so please find that post for me! I think my bashing was more on the so called commission/markup of going through a dealer. I personally dont see any benifit of having a dealer backed tub versus the one I have. I guess if you feel the dealer is your only source of information go for it but there are many other resources for this. As far as supplying facts and not our experience.....? I am not a professional in the hot tub industry so not sure where you are going with that.

Did you ever stop and think maybe there are more complaints because the people who did go this route do not have a dealer to complain to, probably know very little about hot tubs and instead of learning they would rather go the easy route and just complain??? Maybe the fact there is a dealer in there to help keeps those other companies from complaining and offers good support. Like I said trying to throw dealer support on a costco tub is insane, we all should know there is no "dealer" support...but I have had a great experience with their customer service. I find it funny that you would even try to file a complaint against a company for false advertising...but you hadn't even bought their product. Do you ever leave the house?

Nope didnt work. Are you uploading to photobucket.com or some other hosting service? Try photobucket....rather easy to use.

Nice looking...first round tub I seen that I like! Happy Soaking!!

First why do you insist on calling them Costco tubs...Costco doesn't make tubs...they sell other brands of tubs. And I never said my friend's issue negates anything but merely stated that when people call make a complaint with the BBB it doesn't mean its a legitimate complaint. Makes you wonder what type of people we are dealing with here. If they purchased a tub through Costco why complain to the BBB when you can return the tub. Thats exactly what I would do...if I were having a problem with my tub and not getting any satisfaction from the manufacturer, especially if it were still under warranty. The BBB doesnt give you enough information on issues to make a sound decision on their stats....IMO.
-
Do you really think every person who has bought a tub and had problems went and called the BBB? I highly doubt it! In my 40 years of life I have had numerous issues with products/businesses and never even called the BBB. I did look up a contractor who worked on my home 2 years ago before having my bathroom remodeled and they had only 1 complaint and have been in business 15 yrs. They were by far the worst company I have ever done business with....so do you really get an accurate report by looking them up on the BBB? I had a friend who actually used his riding lawn mower incorrectly and messed up the blade assembly....he tried to get it fixed and because it was his own fault it wasn't covered. He filed a report with the BBB complaining about the business. Actually you stated 27 complaints...it actually says 37 on the site...which your link is not right...the correct link is BBB

Top of the line...thats subjective. Just because you paid 10k for a tub doesnt mean fat arse sitting in it is going to like it more than the 4k tub. How someone feels in a tub has nothing to do with price my friend. I know this for a fact....I sat in some 8-10k tubs and didnt like them compared to my legend. I did however sit in some tubs that were more that I did like. Did I like them more than the Legend...not really...did I like them less...not really. What I did not like was the price.
-
what kind of crap is this??? How can you state what a 4k tub is but when it comes to the 8k tub its just a "better" tub? There is nothing on that bone...no meat!!
-
Most warranties aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Sorry to hear about your luck!!! There are a lot of people on the forum who hold the warranty side by side with other tubs in determining the value. If you dig down and read most product warranties there are always loop holes for the manufacturer.

Affordability had nothing to do with it for me...it was more about cost effective. What is Cost Effective? Definition: Cost effective is something that is economical, based on the tangible benefits produced by the money spent. With that said I knew I could enjoy the benefits of my Platinum Legend that had a stereo, lights, waterfall, jets and the size (7 person) without having to spend 10k or more. Unlike most I wanted a spa with all the above...lights...stereo...and thats what I have. Is it better...yes...because I didn't have to spend over 6k for it and it had everything I wanted. Will it last as long as another spa...don't know...never owned another spa. Does it have better or equivalent parts, don't know...I wouldn't know better parts over sub standard parts. What fun would this forum or life be if everyone thought the same way...???
-
Wait a minute here....nobody said anything about getting a "special message" when I was out at the dealers. Had they said that I might have went with them instead of my Platinum. Sorry but after 17 pages...can you really de-rail a thread anymore than it already was??? As with any hobby if you are just starting out I think a cheaper (price) tub is the way to go. I know I have heard and read many stories about people who buy a hot tub and then never use it after the new wears off....which is the habit of most consumers. Going with a 10k tub and that happening is a much costlier issue than going with a 4-6k tub for your first run and deciding if hot tubing is your thing. The fact that there is even a debate about this means you can buy one of these tubs and have a good experience...or bad....and the same can be said for a dealer tub. Just educate yourself to a level you feel comfortable with on tubs and go buy the one that does it for you...screw what everyone else thinks. I am laughing my arse off at the friends I know who rushed out 10 weeks ago to get an IPhone and now the price just dropped 200 bucks.....10 weeks....please...thats a slap in the face to consumers.

A little vague on your question. Are you speaking about when you go into a thread and the replies are layered in links below the first post? Are you speaking about attitude of people posting?

Way off topic...but I find it funny how a position is stated and someone disagrees but then right after another user comes in and reaffirms the original poster. Just makes me wonder how many have alternate logins for this site.....I could careless where anyone lives...
