  1. I was where you are at about 8 months ago, had the tub about 4 or 5 months then. Things seems out of control, always checking, always adjusting, always the water was out of whack. Went away for a week, came back to a perfect tub of water. Talked to the girl at the place I get supplies at and who had checked a number of samples for me. She said something and a light went on. I was trying too hard, checking too often and adjusting too much. Now it seems like it maintains itself. Check the basics once or twice a week, shock it every few days, toss in some Alkaline up occasionally, and we're good to go. Also, I neglected it for a couple days over a week or so and it got a little cloudy. Shocked it good a few times, had a bunch of foam. It all cleared up in a day or so.
  2. I use Bromine in a floater, and a shock a couple times a week. What other habits would be helpful to answer? I plan on filling the floater with tabs, adding some shock and setting the temp at the lowest possible, mid 80's I think, without shutting it off. Well, that worked just fine.

  4. Greetings, I am taking a 1 week vacation. What precautions should I take so as to not come back to a tub full of nasty water? Thanks,
  5. Also, the cover. I see nothing wrong with it at all. I would not expect it to support much weight, that is not what it is meant to do anyway. So if a kid climbed up on it and jumped up and down that would most likely break its back.
  6. We have had the KeyWest model from CostCo for 3 weeks now. I would say it is not very loud at all. The pumps have a total of 3 speeds. Low is a slight hum. High is a bit louder, and turbo is a bit louder still. With all 3 running it is not too bad, much more quiet than the outside AC unit. Sitting in it with the high pumps running and jets on it is hard to have a conversation, and even harder to talk to somebody nearby outside of the hot tub because of the bubbling from the jets. Turning the turbo pump off and closing the jets some improves it, it is the way I like it.
