  1. I bought mine from Pool and Spa parts depot. It ended up not being a Balboa one but it was made in the USA and fit just fine. It came with new o-rings as well as tail pieces. http://www.poolandspapartsdepot.com/
  2. Rather than replace the heater element in my 1999 Master Spa I elected to do the entire assembly. I think is was a Balboa 50080. The price for the whole thing vs. the heater element only was minimal.
  3. Thanks! Under what circumstances would the pressure switch need adjusted?
  4. I was able to fix this on Saturday. I cut out the bad spot and crimped on a new RJ45 jack. Works like a champ BUT I scraped it up while feeding it back though the spa. Go figure. The wire is rated at 300v ... I'm wondering if just using some cat5e to remake it would work.
  5. Good afternoon ... I had to pull my spa pack to replace the pressure switch and decided to do the heater at the same time. While I was pulling things apart I noticed that the phone cord type connector to the top site control panel had some rodent damage that appeared to be old. I put the spa back together and now all the lights on the control are lit up and is is displaying "88888" as well as some other things. Up until this point I thought the controller was working properly. The buttons control the proper function and everything else on the spa seems to be working properly. Would it be safe to assume that me messing around with the tub aggravated the damaged wires causing this? Is is possible to simply replace the phone cord connector? Thanks! Jeff
  6. I have ordered a Tecmark 3209 for my 1999 Master Spa LS650 and wanted to know if I need to change the setting on the pressure switch or should it be good to go out of the box? My spa has a 24-hour circulation pump if that makes a difference. Thanks! Jeff
  7. What PSI should my new switch be set for? My tub has a 24-hour circulation pump. Thanks!
  8. I ended up having to remove the entire spa pack. Not terribly difficult but certainly not what I had on tap for today.
  9. Hello. I think my pressure switch is bad and am going to replace it. On my hot tub the pressure switch is pointed toward the back of the tub and looks inaccessible without being able to remove the heater tube. The tube and control panel are all contained in a plastic liner which makes access difficult. Can anybody offer any suggestions? THanks. Jeff
  10. It's been a while but this problem is plaguing me again. At the end of last year I confirmed that the circulation pump was seized and closed the spa. I put the new pump in a few weeks ago and everything was good. I briefly got a FLO message then it cleared and things were moving along just fine. Today I'm getting the FLO message again. I confirmed that the circulation pump is running and water is returning to the tub. I pulled both filters and can feel the suction on the intake but the code didn't clear. Am I looking at a bad pressure switch?
  11. Thanks Spa Guru ... I was able to confirm that the shaft is not spinning. With the power off I am able to spin is by hand though. This leads me to believe that it's the start up capacitor, Is there a safe way to check that and where would I find a suitable replacement Thanks!
  12. Cool! What's the best way to verify that the motor is turning over and not just humming?
  13. I drained the tub last night as the water was getting stagnant ... I have a question regarding the steps you told me to take ... I removed the filter for the circulation pump and put a hose into the inlet. When I turned the hose on water would come out of the discharge in the tub. If I was able to do this could there still be an airlock in the pump? I assumed if I could get water to travel the same path that an airlock would be eliminated. I'm by no means an expert though. I'm gearing up to tackle this over the weekend. Thanks again! Jeff
  14. Hello there ... I recently did a fresh fill of our 1999 Master Spa LS650 and am getting a FLO error. I thought there may be an air lock and loosened the union for the pump to allow water to come out. That didn't help. I can hear what I think is the motor running but water isn't being pumped from the filter housing. When i put a hose into the filter housing i can feel the water returning in the tub. Does anybody have any possible solutions or things I should look for? Thanks! Jeff
  15. Hello. I just started up my hot tub and the pump turned on one minute after it was powered up per the manual. The problem is that it never turned off. I checked the filter time by pressing the hot button, then mode and set it to "fil 1". It was my understanding that the tub will turn on the low speed on minute after being energized and 12 hours thereafter. Does anybody know how long the filter cycle is in length? When I change the settings from "fil 1" to another one what exactly is supposed to change? The length of the cycle or the time between cycles? I don't recall having this issue before and will try again tomorrow. Thanks for any and all info. Jeff
