  1. So just a follow up on purging and the rash I was getting. Every time I drain the hot tub (every 3-4 months) I purge it with awesome and I think the other issue I had was the chlorine level, I think I was putting in a little too much. So I put in just under 2 teaspoons of granular chlorine every other day if I’m the only one using the tub and then once a week I put in 2 tablespoons of shock along with rinsing out the filters every 10 days. I have a hotspring flair and I can say I am rash free. My skin is sensitive to certain things so I just thought I would pass this along
  2. I purged the tub this morning for about 35 min I wiped the scum/sides down a few times until there was very little scum coming out. This product is excellent! It’s filling now I’ll see if this makes a difference thanks again!
  3. One more thing I’d like to ask I’m away 1-2 months at a time and was wondering if having a floating chlorine dispenser would be good to put in my hot tub? The heater is off and the pumps are programmed to come on each day for approximately 10 min. The tub is in Florida thank you again
  4. Thanks for all the reply’s! I was going to have a bucket of clean water handy and a big sponge to wipe up the gunk and rinse it in the bucket and just keep repeating the process. How long do you keep the pumps running for the gunk to start dissapating?
  5. I bought some ahhsome and had a question does the water have to be balance before I use it? Can I just use the ahhsome then drain and then refill? Thanks
  6. Thanks for the reply I just ordered it and hopefully that will solve the problem
  7. I have a hotspring flair and I have been using chlorine granules since I’ve owned it for a year now. I developed a rash I emptied it cleaned it thoroughly and refilled it. The test strips shows almost perfect balance water is crystal clear I come to the conclusion my skin is sensitive to chlorine,it doesn’t effect anyone else using it. Would going with bromine help my problem thanks in advance.
  8. I posted a while back on my hot spring flair lighting issue. The problem was a string of 4 lights by the lounger that were bad and affects the rest of the lights. Long story short the manager of the store came out with the tech‘s son and replaced it. He talked with tech support and that was there remedy to fix the problem. He gave me 50% off a set of filters for all the bs I went thru. I did give the manager a bit of advice find another tech to service there product maybe the son should take over because the dad just doesn’t care any more. The tub is FANTASTIC!
  9. So I spoke with a person from customer service told her the whole Story including what tech support told the service guy about scratching there head over the problem and both of us agreed that’s not a good sign. So I suggested replacing everything associated with the lights and she seemed to agree. I also said If that doesn’t resolve it then maybe we should start talking about replacing the tub. I would rather not replace the tub because everything else works jets, etc.plus the tub is inside my lanai cage so that would require opening up part of the cage section if I can’t get it thru the oversized door so we’ll see how this works out??
  10. Today I heard from the store I bought it from. The tech talked to tech support and there scratching there heads as to what the problem might be. I guess I’ll just wait and see what they come up with? I did tell him to keep me posted
  11. The tub is still under warranty I’m going to see if I hear from someone this coming week and if not I’ll call the 800 # again, they assigned a case # to my complaint so it’s documented . The tech that came out was going to get in touch with tech support to see what they think the problem is
  12. Thanks for replying I have reached out already
  13. I bought a 2020 hotspring flair in January after researching this tub for many years thinking its a great tub and I'm getting very frustrated over the quality of service. Originally I had 4 lights out inside the lounge and service came out twice to fix it. They fixed them but then the half of the tubs lights are not working along with the color wheel does not work. I paid a lot of money for this tub and if I knew service would be this bad I would have went with another brand. Purchased this from Hotsprings of Sarasota Fla Jim Lantagne Venice Fla cell: 9782045024
  14. I recently bought a Hotsprings Flair and have it in my florida home. Should you leave the water in while your away 1-2 months? I treated the water and closed the cover when I was done using it. Thanks
  15. Bite the bullet and hire an electricain. You need to run a seperate circuit to the hot tub
  16. What hot spring model is comparable with the Dimension 1 Chairman? I really like the chairman but the nearest dealer is over an hour away, the hot springs dealer is half that. I own a home in Venice,Florida. Would welcome all input thanks.
  17. Yeah I like the D1. I recently bought a house in Venice,Fla and I'm planning on having a tub in the lanai/cage. Problem is there isn't any dealers that are close by. What is the chromotherapy and LFX package? Are they expensive options? I wet tested a Chairman a few years back and it was unbelievable but I really don't need that big of a tub and the price was up there also.
  18. Like to get some input on tubs. I'm a little partial to D1 specifically the Auora.. Dependable, quality and running cost are the big concerns. Definately a lounger and seating for maybe 2 other people. Price is always a concern I know the Auora is up there in price. Thanks in advance
  19. I recently bought a home in Venice,Fla and I'm considering installing a portable hot tub? I like the looks of a inground tub but I know from a practical stand point it would make more sense with a above ground so you can service it easier? This would go in the lanai. I do like the D1 Chairman I wet test one a few years back and really enjoyed it but I'm open on other models. Thanks in advance on your input.
  20. Isn't that what the GFCI is for???
  21. The best way of finding a good electrician that cares and does quality work is word of mouth. Talk to friends, coworkers and see if they have had work done and go from there. You don't get taxed on a portable tub. My main concern about pulling a permit is you are allowing the inspector into your home, property and he is taking notes as far as what other work/improvements you may have done. I am not anti inspector, last fall I had my inground pool filled in. I pulled a permit so it will be recorded that the pool is indeed filled in so I can take it off my taxes. Also my liability insurance will be lowered.
  22. EXACTLY!! If you hire license competant contractors to do the job there will be no issues! Say you pull a wiring permit and the inspector comes out and says everything is up to code and signs off on it and down the road you have a fire and they determine it was related to the electrical work you had done, who do you think is responsible? Not the inspector!! He's off the HOOK! I am a license electrician, been doing electrical work close to 40 years now, I've pulled permits at times and the other times I have not and have not had any fires yet. If I insulted anyone I apologize, just my opinion, have a good one!
  23. You need to RELAX John. Put your granny glasses on and read what I said: Make sure you hire competant contractors to do the job. John you have a NICE day! I mean that!
  24. I wouldn't pull a permit. I would just make sure you hire a competant spa dealer and electrician and any other contractor you may need.
