  1. After reading this long post, it has captured my curiosity and I am thinking of trying this product on my next fill (March). I fill my tub with well water. In very simplistic terms, would I be ok to use silkbalance if I shock after each use(which I do now with SpaGuard enhanced shock) and then once a week(SpaGuard cholorinating concentrate)or just after each use? FYI I have a 2010 HS Vista and use the Nature 2 stick.
  2. The salesman/owner told me he could sell them that cheap because their main business is installing pools and they don't rely on the hot tub business to pay the bills. After seeing some of the prices on this site and others, I tend to believe him
  3. We like it very much. Took us a while to figure out that the filter on the circ pump line needs to be changed/cleaned more than once a month like the other 4 filters. I looked for over a year, partly because I research stuff too much, but in the end felt the HS was one of the best tubs out there. My electric bill is definately more than $20.00 a month more with the tub. I assume its the cost of electricity in Northern Illinois and not anything else. We bought the tub from the only HS dealer in the area and felt the price was very fair. That price included tax as well at a rate of 7.25%
  4. I bought a 2010 HS Vista in June 2010 out the door for 9995.00 That included the usual steps, chemicals, cover, lifter, delivery and 6 months same as cash. I live in Northern Illinois.
  5. I am no expert by any means. I have had my HS Vista for 7 months now. I bought a paper filter and when I clean all the filters, I put the paper filter on the 24hr circ line. (gray cap) Not really sure this is the "best" way to go but it has worked for me. I also change the 24hr circ filter every 2 weeks as opposed to every month.
  6. If it is a 2010, I would call HS to come out and fix it under warranty. Are you the orginal owner?????
  7. It will be interesting to see if they call me back in the spring or if I AGAIN have to call them. Depending on how the weather here is in Northern Illinois, I will give them to mid April to call me, I think that is more than fair. I kind of think this is a crock as well. If Watkins is as good as they say they are and a Technician were to snap a panel on accident, I would think Watkins would replace it at no charge.
  8. I have a HS Vista and rotate the filter on the circ. pump about every 2 weeks. Do you think this is overkill?
  9. I guess what I didn't like was the fact that I had to call them back instead of them calling me back. Overall not a big deal. It just makes me wonder what would happend if my heater goes out in the middle of winter.........will I get the same response from the service dept? I did a ton of research before I decided to go with H.S. and spent a lot of time at the dealer. We had a lot of communication during my decision process and after dropping $9995.00 (out the door, taxes delivery steps cover, lifter, and chems) haven't heard from them. Maybe I am expecting too much but I thought a follow up phone call after the delivery or a thank you would have been a nice customer service touch. Overall though I still think the HS is the best (or one of the best) tubs out there and am very happy with the purchase.
  10. Had they presented it the way you just did poolspaguy, it would have been no problem at all to wait. It is not that big of a deal to me it just makes me wonder if there customer service is always this poor. Thanks for your reply
  11. I bought a new HS Vista this spring and so far am very happy. Recently, I have noticed the lights on the Fontanna water fall are not syncing correctly. When I have the lights on white, 2 may be white and the third may be yellow. When I called my HS dealer for service, they came out and looked at the tub, took the panel off directly below the water fall, and said they had to order a part. After waiting 2 weeks for them to call and say the part is in, we would like to shedule a time to come out and fix it, I called them to check the status. They stated that it was now too cold to come out and fix it that I would have to wait till spring. They stated that with the extreme cold weather, that they could possibly break the panel they have to remove to get to the part that needs replaced. First, I think it is bad customer service that I had to call them and secondly, is the cold a legitimate excuse or am I being fed a line of bull?? FYI I am located in Northern Illinois.
  12. Try taking the filters off and see if that makes a difference. Could be some dirty filters
  13. Joe, a couple things I did learn during my several months of research is that depending on where you live, what other spa dealers are in your area, will all make a difference in price on the same exact spa. The dealer I bought mine at (northern Illinois) told me he doesn't depend on the sales of spa's a great deal to make a living, but rather the installation of inground pools which is obviously the majority of his business. He has been selling the Hotspring line for 15 year though. So I guess if your buying from a dealer that only sells spas, the price may be higher...............just food for thought.
  14. I just put a down payment on a 2010 today. I have done several months of research and it is my opinion that HS is one of the very best. Wet tested the Vista and bought it. Out the door I paid 9995. This included tax, set up and delivery, stairs, start up chemicals, cover, stairs, and cover cradle. Loved the dealership and salesperson. I am not taking delivery till June because I will be out of state. The salesperson is going to even supervise the installation of the cement pad that will be installed in my absence.
