  1. The "hot tub itch" was not from maintaining proper chemical levels I have followed Jacuzzi's recommended chemical procedure for 2 years - by the book - and I have tested my water (by my dealer) every week for 2 years - has always been ok To help out with this problem my dealer took the tub to their service shop and super chlorinated the tub for 3 weeks - the problem showed up back within a week of us getting the tub back Apparantly the high level of chlorine did not kill the problem As for it coming from fecal matter - I totally disagree - this isn't a "party tub" it is used only by my wife and myself and occassionaly our 9 year old joins us I just hope that the procedures being done by my dealer cure the problem - they have been very helpful so far
  2. After 2 years with absolutely no problems with my Jacuzzi tub we've started to develop water problems Jacuzzi, along with my dealer, has been very helpful and have discovered what they feel is the problem Jacuzzi got back to us with test results they ran in California at a lab that has better capabilities and used to dealing with this type of thing. Through their test they have determined that it is an aggressive form of bacteria & protozoa that has taken hold in the tub. Their testing shows it is protozoa and Pseudomons Aeruginosa As a result to solve the problem Jacuzzi is willing to provide us, at no charge, one of the new Clear Ray UV-C systems that kill 99.9% of water borne virus and bacteria ALONG with an APG ozone system to ensure water sanitation. I hope this helps sort out our problems I am very impressed with our dealer here in Saskatoon, Sask and also very impressed with Jacuzzi main office for what they have done so far Once these systems are in place I will let you know how it has worked
  3. I have a J-470 and after about 7 months I wasn't happy with my water being hazy just a month after water changes I had local Jacuzzi dealer put in the ozonator and heve been very impressed with it so far - water is crystal clear and the ozone smell is clean I highly recommend the factory ozonator from Jacuzzi
  4. I purchased a Jacuzzi J-470 about 7-8 months ago and am very impressed with build quality and I haven't had any problems with it I would highly recommend Jacuzzi
  5. Hi everyone I have a Jaccuzi J-470 that I'm thinking of adding an ozonator (thru Jaccuzi) on does anyone have one on their Jaccuzi and do you like? have you reduced your chemical usage? etc? all comments greatly appreciated Thanks Gord in Saskatchewan
  6. hi everyone we are just outside of Saskatoon, Sask. and this is our first post we've had our Jaccuzi 470 for about 3 months now (bought new in Saskatoon) I was supposed to post quicker but no computer in my tub I had lurked on here for about 3 months before we purchased and took everyone's advise about wet testing we tried about 8 different tubs from Jaccuzi, Arcticspa, Hot Springs, Beachcomber and H2O - didn't try Dynasty as the salesman reminded me of a used car salesman we narrowed it down to Jaccuzi and Arcticspa and then went for another wet test these 2 were pretty equal and the reason we bought the Jaccuzi was because of a more open design (my 7 year old likes to swim in the tub) and we talked to a couple people who bought Jaccuzi from the dealer and were very happy with customer service I'm learning about the chemical part of it and will get better with time we put it on out lower deck as close to rear door as we could as I was told by many people that the closer to your door it is, the more you'll use it after 3 months we use it 6-7 times a week and it gets very addictive attached is a pic of our set up I would like to give a big thanks to everyone's comments I read before I purchased Gord, Sheila and Colton
