  1. Hello. I have been using Nature2 test strips to test for MPS, pH and Alkalinity. I think my husband could be allergic to the MPS so I am using dichlor for awhile. I bought some AquaCheck test strips to test for free chlorine. These test strips also give a numerical range for the free chlorine, total alkalinity and pH. When I use the AquaCheck, the pH looks low and the alkalinity color doesn't look like any on the test strip! When I use my Nature2 test strips, everything appears to be in the acceptable ranges. Should I go buy a third testing kit or what? Any ideas? Thanks! Karinp
  2. We use Nature2 so there really shouldn't be any chlorine to balance, I guess. I was really concerned about the shock.....I don't understand this chemistry stuff yet and maybe I should be posting this under "water chemistry" but wasn't sure where this topic would lead.
  3. Hi, I'm new to the forum, new to the hot tub life. My husband and I were wondering what you do about your hot tub chemicals when you go on vacation? Do you hire someone, ask a friend, or can you just leave it until you get back? We aren't planning a vacation yet, but I'm sure we will be soon and wasn't sure how long you could go without adding chems to the hot tub. Thanks! Karinp
