I've read how to remove the old one and install (pulling the wire through the conduit) the new one, but what kind of sealant/adhesive do you use when you put the new one in? Thanks

You call that cold?! Bwahahahaha.. try -40! But yes, ubbing in cold is awsome... especially in birthday suits cheers.. I grew up on the Gulf Coast so anything less than 50 F is chilly to me. You guys get a long cold winter, I get 7 months of sunny 90F+ days with 90% humidity...... With all that said, I love this tub...... the best $3500 I've spent (bought it 2 years old).

6/3 is fine and yes you want the ground insulated.... it's just safer. You can easily get by with 8 awg with a short run like that. 8 THHN is rated at 55 amps (NEC book).

When you two were having your "my place is colder than your place" discussion, I checked the average temperatures for Duluth & Regina (I know temperatures will vary across the province, but it made for an easier comparison). Regina was about 8 deg. F colder in average low temperatures each month. Canada wins! Or loses, depending on your point of view. For those of you who are Grandee fans: 1) Do you like the foot jets? It looks like it only has two, and they don't look well placed (assuming you're sitting in one of the corner seats with the Moto-Massage). 2) Do you like the "bullet jets" (the 26 "directional precision jets" like the ones right above the Moto-Massagers & the other corner seat). I've always felt that bullet jets don't help much, and make my skin itchy after a while. 26 of the 39 jets in the spa are bullet jets, and that concerns me. One of the reasons I got a Vista was because it had more jets and a little better placement (in my opinion). The bullet jets are nice for your upper back/shoulders, but I get tired of them after 10 minutes or so.

Too bad it's so warm there. The BEST is when you get to sit out there in the middle of a snowstorm with the patio in darkness but the floodlights on in the yard so you can watch it snow! (However I'm not anxious to experience that soon! Next month will be soon enough.) I got mine back in Feb. of last year. I wondered how much I would use it once the 'newness' wore off ... but I'm still out there nearly every day that it's not raining. Enjoy! I've got mine under my back porch because it rains here a lot. I can see myself using this every night except for the middle of the summer.... it gets extremely hot and humid here in July/August.

You're going to love it. I just got my Vista up and running (close cousin to the Grandee) and it's awesome. I love having all the space to sprawl out with just the 2 of us or we can have 6 adults comfortably without sitting on each other.

That is one awesome machine. Had a hard time making up my mind on which seat I like the best because they were all relaxing in some way. Nothing compares to soaking in the birthday suit with the wife in the cold weather (34 F.... which is cold in the deep south).

I have the same problem. I bought individual concrete bags and mixed them in a concrete mixer (you can rent one for $30-50) and wheeled them to the framed up new patio. It's a little work, but can be done for less than $200 in half a day.

I had a similar situation and I framed up for a concrete pad the size of the tub. It's easy to do. Build the frame, make sure it's square, add reinforcement wire/bar, then have a truck come out and delivery the concrete (or mix it one bag at a time like I did). To smooth out\level the pad, just use a long, straight 2x4 and work it back and forth across the top of the frame. I spent about $175 for the concrete (36 80lb bags), frame, and rebar.

Well, I can't use my lifter at all right now and getting the cover off is pretty cumbersome for one person. I'm going to call some of these cover manufacturers and see if they can make something that my lifter will mount to.

I was getting 120V on each hot wire, but didn't check them together to see if it was 240. I'm not sure what was wrong with the breaker, but I replaced it with a new one and everything started working.

Update: Got it working. It was a bad breaker. Thanks for the help.

The power light is red, but not flashing. I don't hear anything coming from either pump. There is definitely power on the connections labeled JET PUMP 1 and JET PUMP 2 on the control circuit board when I turn the pumps on. After messing around some more, I realized that the control panel on the inside of the tub doesn't seem to do anything at all. It doesn't change the lights or anything. I'm starting to wonder if I have a wire that's come disconnected somewhere that's causing all of this.
