  1. So, I am getting emails etc on trading my Arctic Spa hot tub in for this new Jacuzzi line. I went to the Barrie Jacuzzi dealer which was my dealer for my Arctic Spa Summit and boy do these Jacuzzi tubs look like crap and cheap looking! They look like they are not built tough, all this bling bling stuff like LED lights and stereos etc. Anyways, the Arctic website shows a new location for Barrie Ontario which is on Saunders Rd. Has anybody been there yet? It seems like we are getting no response from Arctic Spas on whats going and are silent about this whole situation. I now there is Arctic Spa owners here reading so maybe we can get a response to see what will happen in Ontario for Arctic dealers. Take care guys
  2. Tell them that you bought sound dampening material that you place under the tub and should notice a difference, but really you did nothing. If they say it improved tremendously you would be free . It happens alot here at my work that they say that they are hot, we then go to the thermostate and it shows everything is perfectly fine and is very comfortable. We then tell them that we changed some settings and should be fine (meanwhile we did nothing at all). Check with them a couple of hours later and they say thank you very much, what you did helped!
  3. I am seriously hoping I never need to dump water in that cold a weather! Yikes. Did you have to do anything special to protect your plumbing from freezing or cracking? Or did you just do it very fast? I am curious about these salt water systems. How long do they go before you need to dump and refill? I am using the Dychlor/Bleach method and hope to go 6 months, so May 1st when it's warmed up i'll be cleaning house... Greg Lummer, I had to wait a week as well for the Version 7 to come in and Andrew installed it on Tuesday. Ya you don't want to be changing water in this weather, I almost overflowed water because I was cozy on the coach waiting for it to fill. Greg, I had to leave a space heater in the cabinet for all the lines. After the install Andrew had the heater running for me and had to wait 48 hours before re-filling. I opened one of the cabinet doors to take out the heater and you wouldn't believe how it held the heat in there, just amazing. They say up to six months before needing to empty and refill. We will see how it works out!
  4. Hehe, while you guys were enjoying a soaking last night I was refilling my tub in -18! Wind chill not included My Onzen Version 7 got installed a couple of days ago. Got to dump in the salt tonight!
  5. No, my dealer did not recommend Aquafinesse. I had my water tested yesterday and everything looked good except the bromine. Dealer asked what my CP setting was, I said it was at CP6. I knew exactly what was coming next! Call the service dept, your Onzen system needs to be change to Version 7. I knew that was coming. I checked the bromine before leaving to the dealer and there was nothing. Also tested the Onzen and found no smoke/bubbles coming up in the water. We will see tomorrow when they will come and change this. I really did not want to do this in the winter! Oh well, it needs to be done. Our friends had the version 7 installed and said the version 7 is like a volcano! Thats what I like to hear. Version 7 is actually there first Onzen system they made but it changed along the road for some reason. I will keep you posted. Take care
  6. Hey Guys, Got a quick question on Bromine. I have my CP level on 6, when testing my water it does not show any bromine at all. Of course, after I add my refresh and I check it 1/2 hour after it shows low levels. Should the bromine level always be visable if I don't add refresh? I ask a Arctic Rep about this and will get back to me, but would like all you pro's opinion. Thanks
  7. When did this Version 7 come out. I had a retrofit done back in the end of August. Is this a new retrofit? I have discovered over the last few months that the onzen system for Arctic Spas cannot keep up with the amount of times we use it. For my wife and I during the week it seems to be fine, but the weekends with a few more people the bromine just drops like crazy and takes a week to re-produce the right amount.
  8. James, I am not going to get into what the troubles I had with my summit, you can probaly check my thread history to see what the issues were. Anyways, after my onzen retrofit (working fine) was replaced it seems like my water is not clear and everything is in check with my tests, and also my Barrie Arctic store. They actually said your water is in perfect condition. So I would love to hear your water chemistry suggestions to get my water clear. My store said to empty the tub (How many times do I have to do this!) including shop vacuuming through my jets. Why must I do this if my drain is the lowest point of my tub? Anyways, I am glad you are with us here James and looking forward to hear from you.
  9. Edweirdo, Sorry to hear about your issues. Just to let you know, when they came to do the retro-fit and it was not the problem!. It was the generator that failed. The tech plugged the retro in but failed to fizz/bubble. The tech went to the van to get a new generator and bam, it started fizzing like crazy . By the way, my tub WAS built and passed the inspection on a Friday! Like I said through, it is working perfect now and just praying to the spa gods that nothing else will go wrong. Take care
  10. I am glad everyone is getting things worked out. I had mine changed last Thursday and waited the 24 hrs as well for the silicon to dry. It took a couple of days for the water to clear up and get that salt disolved, but now things are crystal clear. I had the cp at 6 in the beggining and is working to good had to lower the cp back to 3 to lower the readings. I actually put in about 4 caps of adjust down for me, and it is perfect now.
  11. Hi everyone, Been lurking here a while and want to thank everyone for posting info etc. Anyways, I have an Artic Summit that was delivered 2 weeks ago and been having a hard time and pulling my hair out (Whats left of it) getting my water clear, and won't go into my problems with cut hoses (2 Service calls), pump blowing fuses and I found 2 kinked hoses etc!. Who does the quality checks at Arctic, get with it! So I Did a test to see if the Onzen is working, bingo, no bubbles. So I placed a service call this morning for them to check this. The service proceeded to tell me that they need to come and do a Onzen retrofit and it concerns plumbing issues , this needs to be done on all the tubs built within the last few months. So just a heads up for everyone that bought tubs within the last couple of months from Arctic Spa. Jesus, what is next for me, I have a $12000 plus tub sitting in my backyard that I only used 3 times since I got it. Take care Ron
