  1. I have the J-355. I really like it. I like that it did not have the foot jets in the centre of the tub . I did wet test a tub with foot jets. I found the foot jets in the way and they made it difficult to move/walk in the tub. We use the lounger all the time, it is the favourite seat and we take turns using it. We also use the cool down seats. I wet tested an arctic spa as well and I found the the jacuzzi jets were a little more gentle. The arctic pushed me out of the lounger. We've had our tub for 6 months now and have been very happy with it.
  2. How did you get the sticker on the inside of your cover? Or did you photoshop? The picture is by a company called spascenes. It is made of vinyl and is attached to my cover with velcro. When I saw it at the dealer I just had to have one. There are different pictures you can get.
  3. I have a black interior with a mahogany exterior. The black has sparkles in it and I love it.
  4. Two questions... 1. Is the blanket negatively affected by an ozonator? The ozonator has not seemed to have any effect so far. The blanket has been in place since November, there is no deterioration or discolouration where the ozonator bubbles hit the blanket. 2. Grace - did you see any reduction in your electric bill since using this blanket? This is our first winter with a hot tub so I don't know what our bill would be without a blanket. Sometimes I leave the blanket on and sit under it with just my head sticking out. If I happen to get a puddle of water on top of the blanket it will cool down to icy cold from the outside air fairly quickly, which shows that the heat from the water underneath is not going through the blanket. Also just having it on while I am sitting in the tub reduces the amount of steam (heat) escaping into the air so I hope that is saving me money. It gets very cold here, sometimes down to -30 Celsius (or colder). I was very concerned about the energy use of the tub that is why I wanted a blanket. I have not seen a huge jump in my hydro bills since having the hot tub.
  5. I ordered the foam blanket from Robert's hot tubs. It has been great. It is a very heavy foam and stays in place even when the jets come on during the filtration cycle. When we use the tub we just hang the blanket over the cover. Often, when I am in the tub just by myself, I just leave the blanket on and slide in underneath with just my head above it. It really cuts down on the amount of steam coming off the tub. floating thermal blanket
  6. This morning was the first morning I noticed frost on my cover too.
  7. I usually go in every evening for 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I will use the jets for the first 5-10 minutes than no jets or lights for the rest of the time. I find it more relaxing just soaking in the hot water with all the jets off and everything quiet.
  8. It was something my dealer had on the tubs in the showroom. I thought it looked totally cool so I had one thrown in with the deal. It's from Spa Scenes. they do have a website if you google it. They are added to your cover using velcro. Run about $200.
  9. Mine is black granite colour on the inside. It is a little sparkly, I love it. The outside is a mahogany coloured fake wood siding.
  10. I wet-tested one of the shallower Jacuzzi's and the water did not cover my shoulders, so a wet test is a must. I ended up getting a J355. I honestly don't use the waterfall too often because I think it cools the water down.
  11. Yep, we bought from Hans! While we were in there looking, someone else was in, getting their water tested. I asked this person how the after sales service was and they gave a very positive report. That was very important in my decision to buy there.
  12. We live in Barrie and got the same spiel. Seemed like most dealers spent a lot of time bad mouthing the other brands. We ended up getting a Jacuzzi J355. Found the dealer great and was honest from our first meeting. Told us he wasn't going to waste our time bad-mouthing the other brands, instead spent time talking about Jacuzzi. Bent over backwards to arrange wet-test of 3 different models. We've had our spa for just over a month and the dealer has been great, helping us through learning to balance water chemistry and all that. Has always had time to answer all our questions.
  13. We wet tested the Arctic cub spa and 3 different Jacuzzi models. We ended up going with the jacuzzi because I liked the way the jets felt and I didn't float out of the lounger.
  14. We were told the same thing when we were shopping for a spa. But I really, really wanted a lounger. We tried 4 spas with loungers. Three different jacuzzi tubs and the Arctic cub. The Jacuzzi J355 was perfect, I did not float out of it (wet tests are so important!). Just a few weeks into having the spa and the lounger is the most popular seat in the tub.
