  1. Ha ha ha to you back. Like I said, I'm just a regular customer. I do not work for Arctic nor do they force me to say anything. I kinda figured some of you would have thought this though. But it's simply not true. Your perceptions need honing because you are 1000% wrong. I meant what I said and always will. I am a firm believer that if one has a fair complaint or problem, and conveys their issues in a proper professional manner, it will go a whole lot easier then to kick and scream and throw tantrums. Besides, Arctic couldn't afford MY income..... Cheers, Eddie
  2. Well, according to me. And I think it's safe to say that all of you spa owners also think you have the best spa in the world. But what makes mine the best isn't so much the product. Every dealer out there says theirs is the best. As they should be! I don't think none of us spend thousands of our hard earned money to buy some crappy hot tub. A lot of time, research, questions, etc etc etc goes into buying a spa. Then? Once you've decided what spa you want, you go and buy it. Expecting of course, to have it run perfectly and flawlessly. Yea, right, like THAT ever happens! I'm sure there's some of you that are lucky that have had spas run for like 100 years years without a single incident. But like they say, nothings perfect! So,do you know what makes MY spa the best?? Is the service!!! Not by my dealer where I got my spa over a year and a half ago, cuz he went under the day my spa arrived, but the folks who make them! They have come through EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! And that.....is rare these days. No excuses, no B.S., no nothing. They're right there to solve my issues, pronto. No questions asked. They value their reputation above all else. I've recently had problems with my spa? And to make a lonnnnnng story short, this company has come through for me, BEYOND any expectations I ever imagined!!! I am nothing short of elated and happy and excited. Who's the makers of my spa you're asking yourself a million times by now? It's Arctic Spas. I love them all! I'm just your regular 'joe', nobody special. But the entire team at Arctic have followed through with everything they promised to make me happy. Service is everything to me. And Arctic have proven themselves BEYOND the call of duty to fix things right! lol....As I'm writing this, I'm laughing cuz I make them sound super human! And you know what? They're not. They are however, the most down to earth and honest people I've dealt with in years. Giant kudo's to James Keirstead, Beau, Tom, all those that were involved in making my issues go away. Cheers! Eddie
  3. Hi Vern, Just checked the forum for the very same thing i noticed tonight, the HL error. But no matter what I tried, (minus checking under the hood), it still is on. Hmm....Maybe I shouldn't of sent this until i check, lol. Well, I have it documented now so I'll check tomorrow....lol Eddie
  4. I also wish to add my million dollar worth about James. After a couple of emails back and forth AND phone calls, I am extremely pleased of James concern over my spa. He is GENUINELY concerned and has not made any excuses, any BS, and has kept in constant contact with me. I feel very satisfied with James, ( and no, we did NOT have phone ***!). Service is everything. Regardless of what one buys. James has proven to me that Arctic Spas is STILL the best out there! I also wish to thank Tom here too. Not often you will find this level of service as these people have shown. Things happen, oh well. As long as they get rectified? All's well! Cheers! Eddie
  5. Hi Brent. I'm not sure about that cover, but the one I have is made by Arctic Spa. It's nothing short of amazing. Ten people can dance on the darn thing! ( Trust me, I vaguely remember that party), lol. But Arctic Spa has this Castcore* cover that is basically a metal cover injected with foam. It's as sturdy as it gets! It's not as light as the typical ones you can get, but it will never get water logged years later, making those standard covers almost impossible to lift off! I'm not sure they sell these covers separately but you can always inquire. Eddie
  6. Thank you James!!!!! As far as Pm'ing you, well, I will forward you a letter I have already sent.......
  7. I'm having SEVERAL issues at the moment with my Arctic Spa. In the meantime, while I already have addressed my concerns to practically everyone working for them, why can I not get a decent answer when it comes to what these low level programs do!?!?! It's like trying to bathe a fish! We. along with others, spent good money on these spas, but god FORBID any one of us knowing what these codes mean!! Every time I've asked about it, it's all like, " ohh, you don't really need to concern yourself with these codes. They won't mean anything to you", etc etc etc!! Well, they DO mean something to ME!!!! I spend billions of dollars on one and I'm not even allowed to know all that it does or can do?? WTF is that! As it is, when ever I DO have a problem, there isn't anyone a million miles to ask anymore! For example, when this summer began, I lowered my thermostat over 6 degrees below the temp showing on the display. Then it started acting funny when I'd change settings. It was only THEN I finally got an answer to one of the settings, the 'FH'. I just wish the company would just list and describe what each of these functions do! We PROMISE to be adults about it all and not randomly push buttons! Just list them please! (can ya tell I'm an irate customer??....... ) Eddie P.S. They may have listed it in this forum before, but god only KNOWS I no longer have the patience to look for it.
  8. I sent you a PM with an idea that may help. Tom? I just wanna take a second here and thank you for all your time and effort with us owners. I'm sure I speak for all of us. You've always been sincere and hones,t have gone out of you way countless times to take the time here resolving our issues. I have more confidence in you then I've had with the ENTIRE company. And I never even bought the damn thing from ya! lol Once again, thanx Tom, we all appreciate your help and knowledge. I friggin' HOPE Arctic Spas knows of your efforts here! Cheers for Tom! Eddie
  9. Edweirdo, Sorry to hear about your issues. Just to let you know, when they came to do the retro-fit and it was not the problem!. It was the generator that failed. The tech plugged the retro in but failed to fizz/bubble. The tech went to the van to get a new generator and bam, it started fizzing like crazy . By the way, my tub WAS built and passed the inspection on a Friday! Like I said through, it is working perfect now and just praying to the spa gods that nothing else will go wrong. Take care lol.....they should make a 4 day week at Arctic! Well Budge, here's the deal..... The tech guy came out, checked it out, and then flipped right out, lol Pump one, is on its last legs, (I'm surprised it lasted this long! After all, it's ALMOST one year old!!), the onzen generator is hooped, and the pressure switch needs replacing. I think after this trip, the only thing that'll be left replace on this damn tub is the shell!! Wait, I better shut my mouth......... Eddie!
  10. Thanx Budge! Glad to know I'm not the only one. Sad thing is, it's an inconvenience to constantly wonder, look, check, etc to see whether the system's still working!! And god forbid that any family member gets some bad bacteria in them or get sick because of the constant breakdown of the onzen!! Try proving THAT in a lawsuit huh?.lol Anyway, the tech is coming out tomorrow to see whats wrong THIS time. Says it might be the generator, who knows. It wouldn't be so bad if this onzen option didn't cost an arm and a leg as it was! I woulda just gone back to bromine tabs in a floater! The only thing that keeps me sane is the fact that there are kids in Africa that don't complain about hot tub problems.....
  11. I've been watching this board for months now. NOT because I'm new at hot tubs. Owned quite a few over the last 30 years. I can safely say I know a bit about them. That being said, I thought I was making the PERFECT choice purchasing what *I* thought was the best tub in the market today. Arctic Spas' premise is all great and good and wonderfully created, but I think my tub, The Kodiak, fully loaded, was built on a late friday afternoon. A COMPLETE lemon!!! After only ONE day of use, a three inch water supply pipe burst and if I didn't happen to look hours later, my tub would have been destroyed, with all water draining out fast and filling the entire bottom. The next day I immediately went to my dealer and gee, guess what? He closed shop, went bankrupt! The NEXT day!! I waited 5 weeks for the tub to be delivered, bought it because of its quality, and was promised absolute after service and etc. Well, there is no other Arctic Spa dealership within 500 miles from me. I now had to rely on a guy who USED to work out of that store. Thank GOD I met up with the owner of the store as they were emptying out his store, and he assured me someone would come out. Not even a DAY went by and already problems! The onzen system I had NEVER worked! I mean, okay, it worked for a week then nothing. I called the service guy to come out. He replaced the onzen plates. It lasted a month, if that. Once again, I called him. He came out three times to replace the onzen plates. My tub now is ONLY 4 months old!! In the meantime, I'm thinking the water levels were off, the micro-filters were dirty, ( went through 10 filters within a year), etc etc etc....I drained this STUPID tub at LEAST 6 times in 6 months. Which of course, cost ME for replacing the salt, paying the tech guy EACH time to come out and fix problems which is SUPPOSED to be under warranty! Now!?!? I get the onzen retro fitted. GUESS WHAT??? It lasted a week!!!!!!! I have once again contacted the tech guy to come out, (another 60 bucks), to fix a tub thats under warranty!!! This tub isn't even a year old!!! Not to mention the pressure switch adjustment screw is cracked, I'm always getting the FLO indicator going off, you name it! I've had it with this tub. and the stupidest thing?? I'd buy another Arctic tub because I KNOW they're the best out there! I just own a lemon!!! I am at my wits end with this tub. Imagine sitting in something thats supposed to relieve stress but instead....... CAUSES it! If things don't soon get repaired I will take further action then just ranting like I have just now, (sorry people).
  12. Hiya Rub, I've owned hot tubs for well over 30 years. I'm as fussy as it gets when it comes to water balance and PERFECT clarity. Last year I bought the best tub Arctic Spa offers. ( The Legend). It has an onzen salt system which requires no adding of sanitizing chemicals. The onzen system extracts chlorine from the salts. I was highly recommended to use these micro filters. I bought this tub last October, 2008. I've watched youtube video's of how well these filters can work. I was impressed. BUT!!!!! It does NOTHING for my OCD of clarity and cleaniness of MY tub!!! I have gone through over FIFTEEN microfilters!!!!! Sure, they filter out more then pleated filters but in real life? With people and their body oils, perfumes, cologne, kids, etc etc etc?? FORGET IT!!!!!!! I finally bought a 'high efficiency' pleated filter. A couple of them actually. I drained my tub, washed it, filled it. It's been a week now. The WORST thing I hated about the water was how after only a week of use, the tub would turn into a bubble bath!!!! It drove me crazy! And don't forget, I've owned tubs for over 30 years! (and no, I'm not old!.....well..........a little...lol). So, no more friggin' microfilters for me! Besides, I've always fought over how you can have a filter stay in your water for months at a time and what? Not expect the tiniest of bacteria to not get back into the water?? I don't believe it. I decided to do this last week mainly cuz of the odor the water gave off. REGARDLESS what I did to maintaining levels! I have one more microfilter left. I live in Vancouver, B.C. and sometimes it gets too cold to hose out pleated filters. So I MAY try this last one again during winter, being as not too many leeches come over by then.....lol.
