  1. I am kinda interested in your endless pool. I am in Clacton-on-Sea Essex not far from you. At the moment I have an American Hot tub and would like to move up to a swimpool with current machine. Have you still got it for sale? Regards Carol.
  2. There is nothing in my instruction leaflet that says anything to suggest shocking It says to put in once a week a measured 22ml [correct amount for my tub] and you can use tub straightaway, which i have done. The chlorine tablet goes into dispenser in filter to feed the filter. The product seems well researched and myself/family/friends have had no adverse reactions ie rash, bugs or anything. My point really is that the simplicity of the product seems to be a winner because you don't need to do any readings or checking whatsoever. I have read so much about the problems that some owners have ie too much chlorine....too little etc. etc. and as a new tub owner, I have escaped all these problems. The first 3mths with this water is nearly up and the water has been crystal clear all the time with a lovely lavender smell. I have yet to see any disadvantage in it except of course it is more expensive, but surely it's worth it to be hassle free.
  3. I hide no secrets. I bought my spa off of auction. ebay UK, like lots of people are now doing here. It was brand new in all the packing. Paid £3000. It's got all the widgets. It was made in USA, imported here and was sold to me via ebay, from a dealership that lives about 15miles away. We collect them ourselves on trailers, or flat bed lorries that you can hire out, they are forklifted on by the dealer, then we get about 8 friends to help unload and put in position. It's not difficult. It's a super tub, really top quality and I knew other people who had bought them. I will not mention the name in case I am accused of advertising, but there's a whole list of buyers and their comments on the net for anyone to read. We all use Aquafinesse which was supplied as a 6mth start up...I think to promote the product, and in the hope that we purchase more when needed. It's a great promotion deal and so far knocks spots off of any other spa or chemicals. In answer to your question of how I found you, I like millions...and I mean millions.....just typed into google, "spa forums and advice" and up pops your name with plenty others. People tap into google all sorts of things. So before you buy a product, you need to read and understand the subject, whether it be from horses to hymns, boomerangs to bottoms! google has it all and everyone here in the UK is reading all the stuff out there on offer. People might say, ah, but what guarantee have you got when your 1-2yrs runs out,..... the guarantee is what you see and read, it's a great tub...good USA product, no problems at all and for£2000- £3000, if it last a few years, what the hec, who really wants to pay for a lifetime guarantee! Anyway is that the lifetime of the dealer, the tub or maybe......... You? Has your plasma tv got lifetime guarantee? If a pump or heater should go wrong, then they aren't dear to replace, the tub is fibreglass.....boats that sail the sea for years and years are made of fibreglass, so in comparision, the tub in your garden is getting light use! Guys get real, don't pay the earth for something that is really a basically made product ie a large bath... with a posh name. I own a successful business myself, [nothing to do with tubs by the way], and I know the rules of marketing. You can pay a little for alittle, you can pay alot for alot and you can pay alot for alittle but you can with research and knowledge pay a little for alot. So likewise...wheel and deal with those dealers!
  4. I have been using Aquafinesse in my tub...which is chlorine/bromine free. Just a measured cupful in each week. It does apparently contain a sanitiser. I also use the ozonater each day. Clean filters each week. However, in the kit is also supplied a chlorine tablet + dispenser to put in the filter basket. There is no testing whatsoever required. The method is simplicity itself. Perfect clean, nice smelling clear soft water. This may sound as though I am trying to sell the stuff, I truly am not, I had 6mths supply with my new tub. 3mths on and I can't fault it and so I can't understand why more owners don't use it. Is there a reason that I don't know about.
  5. Sorry, did I exagerate. Some of the dealers claims must be rubbing off on me!
  6. You won't get much help on this forum, Duck Man, because they only want to sell their spas. I notice you have only had one reply so far, and no advice whatsoever! Sorry I can't help you, but my new spa came with 3mths free supply of chemicals, which is Aquafinesse. So far it is proving faultless. No testing of the water ph or anything. It is kind to the skin and your tub and equipment. No, I am not an agent for this product, I have no interest in the selling of the product at all. I only use it....one cupful in the tub each week that's all you need to do. I suggest you give it a try for 3mths.....actually I have worked out that mine will last nearer 5mths. as it depends on the capacity of the tub. Mine is 1150 uk litres. I think your wife and family will like the softness and gentleness of the water.
  7. My! My! What a ding dong is going on here! I have just purchased a lovely new hot tub from a very reputable company here in the UK and am glad I did not get it from any of you dealers. This remark is not intended to be derogatory to anyone in particular but is just an observation and an eyeopener into what appears to be the shady world of spa wheeling and dealing. You may not have thought how much damage your rantings are making on the spa scene. More and more people are considering becoming hot tubs owners and so this forum is being read my millions of people across the world . I like Paintsunni am new to "hot tubbing" and, moreover, like many new owners were hoping this site would offer some honest, genuine unbiased advice, however, we as readers are having a peep into a very dodgy and contrived forum and are also taking note of various spa manufacturers and dealers that are playing perfidious and crooked games with our hard earnt money. I feel this is doing the spa business alot of harm, in particular certain mentioned spas on these postings. If their engineering is anything like their command of the English language, then...........draw your own conclusions. Sellers beware..........Public be aware!

  9. Yes, that is another benefit, it increases the life of your sanitizer and evaporation is almost negligible. Actually the blanket came intentially in two quite long wide strips, which you cut to fit your tub. You then overlap the two strips, mine overlap about 18". I cut out an area where the filter is to allow free flow of water to filter and saved the piece I cut out, which I replace at night [if i remember] to save a bit more heat! Because the blanket is in two strips, this is really easy to remove, it just rolls up in seconds and I stand it in plastic tub. It is intended to adhere to the underside of the main tub cover as well, but this attracts dust and leaves which I try and avoid.
  10. I got it from The Little Yellow Duck Company@blueyonder.co.uk. It was £38. They advertise on ebay. As far as I could find out they are the only company that actually have these blankets in stock. I went into Google to check this out and try and find a cheaper source. Castle Hot Tubs in UK cut them to order and wanted £75+vat + 2wks wait. I thought I might be able to get this 5mm closed cell foam [which is what the Yellow Duck Co describe] from some industrial factory for a much cheaper price, but was unsure as to what it actually was and didn't want to introduce something dodgy into the spa water.
  11. I have recently bought a closed cell foam thermal blanket for my tub and straight away it has made an immence difference. The heat loss is reduced very significantly, maybe as much as 50%, in time I will have a more accurate figure. The condensation on the underside of my main tub cover is almost eliminated, which means it is drier to handle and when off the tub, dust and leaves do not attatch themselves to it as much. I am on a budget and need to reduce the running costs to the minimum. I think the blanket is well worth the small initial outlay. Surprisingly however, I do not hear about many people using these blankets, am I missing something somewhere?
  12. What we have here are round wooden posts/logs, approx 3"-4" dia. as well as making fences are used to stake young saplings to. Tub rolls well on these.
  13. Yes, thats how I moved mine, works really well, like pulling a boat up the beach, only need 3 wooden fence posts, don't be tempted to use 4 because it's a real job getting the fourth one out when tub reaches it's correct position.
  14. Oh my, there you go.......another reason not to feel guilty. Thanks Rog it's getting better all the time.
  15. If you worked hard and honest to buy it......... then you deserve it. Don't feel guilty, just enjoy.
