I just bought a new ozone to replace the older one that I had. I bought the CDS-16 Del Ozone unit. My spa originally came with 2 check valves and a loop at the top. I got NO suction when the pump was on low, so I took off one of the check valves(Del Ozone reccomended this) and shortened the tube. I get basically no flow in the line when I removed both check valves(for test purposes only). I put the tube in a cup of water when the pump was on low and it sucked it up the tube about 1/4 of an inch and it stops there(I get plenty of suction when the pump is on high). What in the world can I do? I don't think that the ozone is making it into my spa. Please HELP!!!!!!!

I believe the light will turn back on. I have a CalSpa and was told the light not working is what informs you it's time to replace the cartridge. I think it's only $40. I bought a CD ozonator and wil install it when it comes in. Does anyone know if the ozone light on the control panel will come back on even though I am replacing a UV OEM with a CD aftermarket? Just want to know if my light will come back on the display. Thanks! does anyone know?

I am getting juice coming from the board going to the ozone, but I am not sure its working. How can I tell if it is operating?

I have a Cal Quest 2000 ozone generator, and the ozone light on the panel will not turn on anymore. The cartridge is several years old and needs to be changed. Will this have anything to do with the ozone display light refusing to come on? I don't want to buy a new cartridge if I need to buy a whole new ozonator. If I replace the cartridge, should the light come back on??? Thanks!

I replaced the spa pack a week ago, and BAM, I am getting an HH code every couple of days, and this morning, it was a DY message(i disabled the ozone last night)! I replaced the pump about a year ago, and it seems to be working just fine. I put in a new filter and the water is at the proper level. Balboa says that there may be an air pocket by the heater, or that the ozone is broken. I need to replace the ozone cartridge, its been 4 years, and the ozone light doesn't even come on anymore. How can I get the air pocket out of the heater tube. I loosened the big plastic nut that attaches to both sides of the heater, and water came out right away, no air. Do I have to drain the entire tub? The shaft on the motor turns freely, so the motor is definately not frozen. This frustrates the heck out of me. Please let me know what you think is causing the HH and DY message. Could I have gotten a bad spa pack?

I have had a Cap Spa 5 person hot tub for 5 years now(second owner). The Balboa circuit board has failed and the pump has gone bad. Thanks to your help, I replaced the spa pack and the motor on my own. Cal Spa tech support is not helpful at all, all they tell me is that they reccomend that I get certified repair person and will not asist me with anything technical. Other than the Tech Support, Everything else that Cal Spa has made on this spa works like new. The, insulation, shell, jets, piping, and outside have help up great! No leaks or problems with anything else. Balboa makes the board that went bad and G.E. makes the overpriced 5hp pump that went bad. I replaced the GE pump with a knockoff 4.5 hp that works just as good as the GE that costs 3 times as much. I realize that it was Cal Spa's choice to use these vendors, but a lot of others probably use these also. Why does everyone else beat up on Cal Spa. Why do a lot of people say their product is not as good to others?

I replaced the pack and everything was very easy. I had to convert it to 240v because it came from the factory set at 110v. Thanks to all you guys.

Is the relay something that just plugs in, or do I need special tools to replace it. I am not even sure what it looks like. Any Idea of where I can order a replacement? Thanks!

My Cal Spa starts to boil the water when it is in priming mode, If I don't hit the jets button, I will get an HH message. When I hit the jets, the hot tub will heat up until it gets to 110deg. and I get an error code. Balboa told me that the board was bad. I ended up buying a Balboa VS 500 spa pack to replace it with. I don't mind having extra parts from the 6000, because I am on my own when it comes to fixing my hot tub(no dealers or Techs in immediate area). I think it is exactly the same as the old one, but just a different sticker on the outside. How hard will it be to replace the pack? The dimensions are the same and it is already wired for 220, so I am guessing it shouldn't be too tough. Any tips/ tricks will be much appreciated. Should I sent the old circuit board off to get repaired so that I have a backup? Thanks!

I have a 2005 cal spa with a Balboa 6000 pack and it is giving me the HH code. The heater will not go off and when I click the breaker on, I can sometimes hear the water boiling in the heater while it is priming mode before the pump can come on. The heater is always on no matter what temp setting I put it on. Do I need to get a new spa pack(vs500), or is there something I can try before I spend big $$$? Dealer is closed and there is no one around here that will work on it. I replaced the pump a year ago and it wasn't that bad. Please Help!!! THANKS!

Crack Repair In Hot Springs Soverign

I have used Marine Tex before and this stuff is amazing. I used it on several fiberglass boats before and none have ever leaked again. It can be sanded and painted also. West Marine sells this. -
I keep getting error messages on my 2006 Cal Spa v500, so I think I will replace the spa pack and motor/pump. I only paid 1500 for the spa and it was in pretty good cosmetic condition. The original owner wanted 2k, but I had a feeling that I would need to put some money into it since he had not ran it for months, so I offered him 1500 cash and he took it(was this a decent deal?). Should I replace the Board with a Balboa, or is there another brand that is reasonably priced that would be better. I got a good deal on a new Waterway motor/pump(4.5 hp for $126), so I don't mind spending a reasonable amount on a spa pack. Would it be hard for me to change out the pack and the motor? I am a moderately mechanically inclined, so I think I may be able to do this. The motor/pump seems to be the exact size, so I don't think it will be a problem. Will the pack be hard to change if it is the same size? I do not want to modify the pipes if I don't have to. Thanks for the Help and God bless.

I am not aware of any slice valves, and all of my jets stay open. I ran it without a filter and still get the same message. I hope when the 2 sensors are replaced, this will fix the problems. OK, the drama continues. If I leave the spa on FC (filter continueously) I NEVER get the error messages about the dry pump or overheating. When I put it on F2 of F4 and come back in a few hours, there is always a message. The spa isn't under warranty because I am not the original owner. I talked to three different techs on the phone and I got 3 different answers. One says the Board is bad, the other says the motor, pump need to be changed and the other said that the start capacitor on the motor is bad. Can someone please let me know whats going on? Thanks, Mike cal spa dealer /service agent ....sounds like start capacitor.....turn thermostat up to start heater/low speed pump turndown to shut of turn thermostat back up motor will hum...what city are you in? + I had the capacitors checked and they were both fine. I live in Houma Louisiana and there is not a Cal Spa tech for 100 miles. I will try to replace the motor and pump(much cheaper than getting the tech to my house, the spa is not covered under warranty, 2nd owner) and see if that fixes the problem. If that is not it, I guess it is the Board. Could it be that not enought voltage is getting to the pump, even though I can start the pump on high by pressing the button? How can I check? Thanks

I need a replacement cover for my Cal Spa and would like to know where I could get the best cover for the money. Thanks, Razoo!
