  1. Hi Brulan 1, Thank you for concerns but as you can probably read through previous correspondence with Bart it appears that he has made a bid for the 2007 world curling championships to be held in Calgary using his Tub as the main venue. I truly sympathise with him and this old adage comes to mind `My thoughts are with you when the deserts turn to ice, and the camels go skating by your windows.`or a bit more cruder `wise eskimo no eat yellow snow.` All the best for 2007 Happy New Year 65A SULZER
  2. Hi Bart, the NET is playing up again, thanks for your comments on our similar problems. Mines appear to have gone but it was interesting that it occurred during one of our coldest spells this year when the wind chill factor was very high. I am quite sure that the extremes in weather encountered in your country are a lot more variable than here in mainland Scotland. I thought these Tubs were scientifically designed and could cope easily with mild climates like my own country. They are meant for outdoor use! I sound like a grumpy old man, sorry. I am having a party on New Years eve and all of the adults, and kids that are coming have been advised to bring their bathing costumes, and use the Tub. What a sight especially if the snow is falling. A firework display is also planned. AWRABESTFURRANE`ERDAY (All the best for New Years Day) 65A SULZER
  3. Hi JM, I tripped the C/B on my Tub after an unusual fluctuation from 38C to 1C and the appearance of 3 lots of red flashing LED lights. I left it for approximately 2 hours. I then reset the C/B and the flashing red LED have now disappeared and the temperature is now at 37C. My daughter had a birthday party on Saturday afternoon and she and her friends used the Tub. No complaints. I hope what has happened to yours is not a sign of things to come for mine. If only Nostradamus was alive and available for a consultancy! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 65ASULZER
  4. Hi Fire or Hi-five, Great Graphics but not like my Elite Platinum Spa mark 1. Mines has a temperature LED readout in Centigrade, and to the right of it are two rows of 4 white see through buttons with no indications of what they do. What is bbs ? I have just encountered a problem on Sunday with the Tub. It was working wonderfully on Saturday and heating at 37.5 C and when I looked at it on Sunday the temperature had fell to 16.5 C. I never touched anything to cause this that I am aware of, and I am getting slightly concerned as the weather is starting to become more wintry here in Glasgow. What is really annoying me is that me and my kids all enjoyed using the tub during heavy rainfall and cold nights. There is something comforting about being in hot water during these conditions. Its like being in a swimming pool whilst on holiday and it starts to rain really heavily. I usually stay in the pool. I tried tripping the main C/B in the house for the Tub but the temperature gauge has not moved much. Above the top 4 white buttons there are 3 lots of little red LED lights that have started flashing. Any thoughts. The Tub is only 8 months old and has been installed since late September and does not get used much, once or twice a week. All comments welcome. Thanks for your concerns 65ASULZER Hi Bart, It appears my last reply to you has ended up in Firestorms post, sorry.my fault. Ignorance is no Bliss. Please could you take the time to read my current post to Fire cocerning a problem I have just encountered with the Tub, and any advice from you would be most welcome. Merry Christmas 65ASULZER
  5. Hi Bart, Ive been having problems with the Net, sorry about the response time. Your Tub sounds just like mine and 2 of the bottom row buttons, like yours, appear to do nothing. However the Tub in general has been working great and I have encountered no problems as yet (touch wood). I live in Scotland and there are not many Tub owners here although I think that the idea of owning one is catching on. The normal thing here is that some people buy a house and add a conservatory and maybe monobloc their front drives. Decking has also become popular. In fact I am intent on getting decking done around the Tub with some sort of semi-pemanent covering. The idea of having a Tub in the garden would definitely make the house more attractive to a buyer. Not that I am thinking of moving. Thanks for the info, and keep in touch! 65A SULZER Hi Firestorm (great name is it after an X man character?). Sorry I took so long in replying. The Pigeon Post sometimes does not get through in Scotland. I was thinking about a monthly rental deal with Wells Fargo instead of the Internet. However its working now. Please post a picture of your controls. As you can probably read Barts description of his controls, mines sound similar. Thank You for your concerns, and keep in touch. 65A SULZER
  6. Sorry there is a slight problem with the server in your previous post, in answer to your question I have had the Tub working since late September (sounds like a Rod Stewart song), and have not yet had the experience to quote to you any problematic trends. However, so far so good. The kids and their friends are all loving it although nobody is using it at the moment due my garden being overlooked and the Tub being in the open. I have previously described my current predicament and I hope to have something more permanent covering it in order to allow maximum usage in the not to distant future(sounds like a George Orwell book). once again Happy Thanksgiving and Happy New Year when it comes! and please remember it`s not XMAS it`s Christmas! Don`t take Christ out of Christmas ! 65ASULZER
  7. A boy is a boy until he is 90 ! Happy thanksgiving although it is not celebrated in Scotland. I don`t think we fully understand it. `I am sure it is when Happy Families get together to participate in having a small libation or two`, excuse me if I am wrong and please advise which part of my statement you refer. 8. Hi all, Does the above Spa come with Twin Speakers ? I have managed to turn one slightly in one corner and it pops up but the one in the opposite corner refuses to move. I am fearful of twisting it too hard and damaging it just in case it`s a false speaker. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you 65A SULZER He who asks a question is a fool for 5 minutes ! He who never asks a question remains a fool forever !
  9. Hi Altazi Firstly I apologise to you to you with regards to me getting back to you with a photograph of my Tub controls. I have had problems with the Net and have only recently got back on line. I still have not been able to take a photo as I still have to work out or take advice on how to attach it to this forum item. We have had great enjoyment with the Tub up until last week. I am overlooked by neighbours and have it sited in my back garden and it is covered using a hexagonal Gazebo type of tent that I bought from IKEA (Swedish company). It fits around the Tub perfectedly with enough room to move around when exiting the Tub. However it blew away ! It`s a good job there was nobody in it at the time ! The storms and high winds in Scotland over the last few weeks have been plentiful. I have recovered the tent and it has some damage. I have decided that it is staying unattached to the frame for now. Hopefully I will enclose the Tub with something more suitable in the future. if I work out how to attach a photo I will post it. Thank you for your concerns.
  10. Hi there to all SPA owners, what is the collective noun for SPA owners ? By the look of this knowledgeable forum I think a Parliament of SPA owners would suffice ! Just recovering from Halloween and Guy Fawkes night here in Scotland. Plenty of bonfires,Ghosts Skeletons and Witches running around. typical glasgow weekend really. The SPA has not beeen used much recently. However with the nights becoming darker earlier around 1600 hrs, and the weather becoming colder and wetter here it always surprises me that when I do use the SPA especially at night that it still works and is lovely and warm. The beauty for me is when the lights are on and when the blue light is set and the radio is playing and the small waterfall is on. It is so relaxing to use especially after a hard days work and coming home to 3 screaming kids and a wife that looks like the Loch Ness monster all vying for your attention. P.S. she doesn`t know how to get into this site, Thank God ! My aim as I have previously described is to be able use the SPA at the stroke of midnight at Hogmanay(New Years Eve) and hopefully the snow will be falling. This sounds like an old fashioned film. Here is the latest joke doing the rounds in our kids schools. Wee boy goes into a pet shop and asks to buy a WASP ! Pet Shop owner tells him: We don`t sell WASPS but you can have a cat, rabbit, fish or a hamster ! Wee boy says : You are a liar mister because there is a WASP in the window ! All replies welcome 65ASULZER
  11. Hogmanay is tehnically speaking the 31 st of December until 0000 hrs. When we in Scotland open our doors and say goodbye to the Old Year and welcome in the New Year usually with a dram (whisky) or other favourable alocoholic beverage. Unfortunately after a few drams it usually ends with a family argument, or stand up fight, about some old auntie who is actually someone elses daughter and the Police are usually called. Happy families. I am sure you have eaten a lot worse than haggis and believe it or not there is a vegetarian version of it which tastes okay. Have you heard of Black Pudding this is another popular Scottish savoury. Guess what it`s made with ? I will see what I can do about the picture. Thank You for your concerns.
  12. Thank you for your prompy reply regarding the console problem. Mine is a classic case of "failing to prepare is preparing to fail." I was a bit hasty in buying the Hot Tub when I seen it at first. it was very appealing to me, my wife and my family. and it was to some extent an impulsive buy. Everyone I know was very positive about it when I bought it. it lay on my driveway from February 2006 until September 2006 until I figured out how to get it into my back garden. This problem is not a big deal and I hope that there are no big problems ahead. I actually read through all of the posts on the site (34 pages) and there are very mixed reviews. Almost everone has had some enjoyment out their Hot Tub. I live in a reasonable climate apart from the amount of rain at times, and I would probably worry more if I had the severe weather extremeties of Canada and America. You are right about Dealer Support but with the Costco Guarantee I thought that everything would be hunkydory, and I was assured it would be by the Manager of Costco when I bought the item. I have kept my receipt. Thanks again, and any information you receive on the buttons would be welcome.
  13. Thanks for the advice Dennnis, just checked and no protective labels. The pumps also seem to start up on a regular basis automatically every 4 or 5 hours or so. I know that they are meant to do this every 24 hours or so but if only I knew what the buttons were for I could maybe have more control over this. I have e mailed Platinum as advised by another tub owner on the forum and I am waiting for a reply. Heavy rain and high winds here in Glasgow, Scotland at the moment even the Haggis are hibernating ! Thank you for your prompt reply to my problem. This is exactly the type of information I was looking for but unfortunately the buttons are grouped together on the right of the display 2 rows of 4. I have e mailed platinum at the suggestion of another person on the forum in the hope of a reply. If there is anyone else who may help please advise. I forgot to say it is a Platinum Elite mark 1. Thanks again.
  14. Hi, Just to let you all know the Platinum Elites have arrived at Costco in Glasgow,Scotland. I have been fortunate to have been able to afford to get one. For the price of £3000. I bought it in February of 2006 and installed it in early September 2006. I had to hire a crane to lift it over my house , as a homer for £100, and put it into position. Unfortunately the crane damaged my monobloc driveway. £300 to fix. However I managed to carry out the repair by myself, and saved some money. It all works absolutely fine but there are no markings on the control console in order to identify which bottons do what? It has a rectangular LED display to the left and all it seems to be able to display is the temperature. To the left of the LED panel are 2 rows of 4 white see through plastic buttons. The top row of 4 appear to control the pumps, waterfall, blowers, and lights not necessary in that order but near enough. Does anyone know what the bottom row of buttons do, and in what order that they are all arranged in ? I am thinking of building a decking around it, and some kind of covering to give protection to users as I am partially overlooked by other neighbours. I hope to see in the Hogmany by celebrating with my wife and children whilst being in it whilst the snow is falling. ODE to my wife and family :" I will love you until the deserts turn to ice and the camels go skating by your window" ! Thanks to all who respond.
