  1. Shaft not bent, and no mag lube on the seal.
  2. Ok Guys I was able to hold the shaft with a pair of vice grips and turn the impeller with little effort and it came right off. Now I have a new problem. I replaced the seal kit, impeller and wear ring. Now when I turn the pump on I have great flow but the pump sound horrible very loud, roaring noise? I am Puzzled! any Suggestions?
  3. Try popping the little cover off. It is located dead center at the rear of the pump. It will reveal a slotted shaft. John Will Do!
  4. Yes the impeller is made from plastic so it look like the second is my option. I really can't believe that the rear Cover can't be removed like a pool pump this makes it so easy.
  5. I have 98 Sundnce optima and Pump number 2 needs a new impeller I have the pump out of the spa but unlike pool pumps, I can't get the rear cover off of the pum to hold the shaft to turn the impeller to loosen it. It it a Theramax II 2.5 HP pump. Does anyone know how to get the impeller off? Thanks
  6. I have a 98 Sundance Optima. The heater was working the last time that i used it. I have had it off all Winter because i did not have a cover. I drained the water and refilled it and started it up yesterday. Tooday i cranked the temp up to 104, the heated water was at best luke warm i let it run for approx 1 hour and it only went from 71 to 79 degrees. the water never got hot enought to get the tub water to where it could be used. any suggestions as to where to start, or is it just a bad heater?

  9. Then there are those that are pretty darn close to know everything in my opinion. Now that I have your attention, a story about someone from this forum. As some i am sure have seen i have a 1999 Sundance Optima that was given to me that i have been restoring. When I got to the point of hooking up the pumps after getting a new control panel i started having problems, so like many i started posing my questions here. I got a few responses, but i started getting responses tat really intrigued me, because with every post he would give a part number that he was referring to. These responses came from James The Hot Tub Guy. From My post James said it sounded like a bad 24hr circulation pump, so I asked how much one was and when he could ship it out. Well to my surprise he did not respond with a price he responded with his phone number and said we need to diagnose the problem for sure first and we could do that over the phone. I called James and to say the Least one of the most professional and Might I say most knowledgeable about hot tubs that I have ever met. Within 10 minutes we figured out that I had the Highspeed pump hooked up wrong, upon rewiring that the hot tub was up a running. Well James went on to spend, ON A FRIDAY NIGHT, almost an hour on the phone with me. Never once did he try to sell me things i didn't need. I did have to get a new 24hr circulation pump, and igot it from James it was the right part I got it within 2 days and It was cheaper than anywhere i could find on the Internet! I have other things that i need to get for the Spa to complete it and I will get them from James because of his honesty and willingness to help. He has save me a ton of money by not having to have a tech come out to my house that is worth it to me. I want to say thank you to James the Hot Tub Guy, and tell everyone else out there, If you having trouble with your spa and James tells you to call him, DO IT, you will not be sorry. I consider him a friend as well as the guy I will always turn to for my Hot Tub needs. Thanks Again.
  10. You probably have a bad circ pump part number 6500-035 the clicking you heard was the relay trying to start the pump you also probably blown the 30 amp buss fuse take the fuse out and check it for continuity By the way something that was weird when i filled the tub up i put the hose in where the filter goes but the water would only go in so far fill up that pipe and spill over? Should it not have run through the system? OK Guys; I finally got my New Flow switch in. and put it in tonight. Replaced the Fuse Turned on the power My Control Panel light up and showed the temperature and started counting down and then again it went blank. This time now FLO Error Message. I still heard the Clicking in the main spa electrical panel. You probably need a new temp sensor and a circ pump do you see 4 dashes across the panel? No I didn't see 4 dashes. It just came on and stayed on long enough for the temp reading to start at about 85 or son and counted down and then just shut off and blew the 30amp fuse. How much do you have a circ pump for including shipping? If you still think that is what me be the problem.

  13. OK Gentlemen got my new Control panel in for my 99 Sundance optima that i am restoring. I hooked it up turned the breaker on the Display went through a couple of displays I saw FLO was the main word that I saw and there was some clicking in the Hot tub Electrical Box as if things were coming on then everything went dead. Nothing on the display nothing. I checked everything with Meter andI have 240 everywhere, Even where the fuse is. Any suggestion on where to start to Diagnose the problem?
  14. Is this a new install or exsisting? If it new install make sure the nuetral wire going to the spa is in the nuetral load screw on the breaker and not the nuetral bar. Verify wiring to spa and breakers. Exsisting install Pull the wires out of the spa control board and test voltage. If the breaker stays on press the test button on the breaker to see if it works. If your spa has a Black control box with 1 breaker. Remove wires with power off. 1. disconnect the heater wires and test. If spa runs bad heater if not. reconnect. 2. try removing wire to ozonator if equipped. 3. try pump wires. 4 try blower wires if equipped etc etc If is has a blue control box with 2 breakers. Verify all connections. The heater has a seperate board. It is were the power wire go. Look for black burn marks on this board. The heater wires are black and white colored remove them and continue with same test procedure. It's an existing install, about 2 months old. If I press the Test button the breaker, it does not trip. I have a black control box (Invensys Controls). I unplugged both pumps, heater, and ozone from the controller board, still no luck. it does click, and my meter detects the voltage, but then voltage drops back to 0 within a second. I looks at the fuses, it does not look black or burnt, can't see any filement inside because it is covered. Even when I remove the fuses I get the same click sound. If I unplug wires from the GFCI breaker on the SPA side, check the voltage on the spa side of the breaker, I also get 0. It is the GE breaker kit that came from Watkins. I hate GE breakers. Sounds like you might have a bad one I concur Sounds Like a Bad Breaker.
