  1. It appears to have been leaking for some time. With that much rust build-up im going to say your impeller is going to be rusted on the threads. IMO its going to be less of a headache for you if you remove the unit & take it to your dealer for repair. If you dont have the right tool for the shaft you arent going to get anywhere. With that much water coming out you may even need a new bearing as I would believe water has gotten into the motor. So right now worst case you are probably looking at a new impeller, seal, and bearing replacement.
  2. In my professional opinion lose the disposable filter & get a proper pleated filter which you would rinse weekly & clean after a month or rotate it with another so you will always have one clean. Those filters will last a few years. Tubs have been ran for 25+ yrs on pleated filters without issue. 1 micron fibre filters i find are a temporary filter media like if you are going to have a party or summer time when there are lots of lotions. If you have lots of females in the tub get a $9 Scum Bug and put it in the tub.
  3. Great White, Im curious as to how you arrived at the Grandee since its much bigger & has no lounger like the Radium. Did you test it against the H20 Canyon model which would be a proper comparison.
  4. That was a nice inflated sales pitch response. H2O uses Aquaflo xp3 pumps & a aquaflo circ master pump which is more than capable of pulling water through the new "super" filter from Arctic. H2O use the Gecko In.xe pack on their tubs which I find more durable the the MClass. "Reflex Torsion Hose" Seriously??? Lets be honest is just a pretty name. The floor is a great product but every maker that has now utilized a good sealed floor system can achieve the same results on a level base. Back in the late 90's threaded jets were very common then waterways moved to the now current design. The only difference with Arctic was they opted for cheap Chinese jets. Now Arctic has switched to the old style thread-ins(which are not without there problems either) Innovative doesnt mean going backwards to solve a quality problem. The castcore cover is great for the first couple years until they start to absorb the water vapor and become cumbersome and almost difficult to lift. I have yet to see a cover collapse from snow & ice. I have seen a 4/3 eps foam cover with stand 3 feet of wet snow. An H20 tub is just as efficient as an Arctic or any other "top" Tub. All high quality tubs are in part just cents apart per month in cost & all veterans in the industry know this. Ive seen a 2006 Calspa cost the exact same as a 2006 Arctic so.... H20 is new but the quality & experience are there. I will say the 1st yr tubs didnt have the same quality look as they do now. I personally think the Glacier is a nice model but its not better than the Radium IMO. The wet test will decide for the poster which is the best for them. No offense to Arctic corporate but Tom never used over inflated posts to represent the company
  5. Start by taking off the side panels to see what sort of insulation if any is in there. You will more than likely need to add insulation to help offset the high energy bill you will get if you dont add the extra insulation. Do a search on the forum for keys tubs.
  6. Most CC Transactions Businesses are charged 3% by the CC companies thats standard rate unless they hit a certain money mark then they might drop maybe a max of 1% to 2%. So If you went in with a certified or cashiers check you will probably get the lifter thrown in to offset the CC charges & soon enough you'll be in the tub you wanted.
  7. Im gonna say its some sort of copper system as those plates look to be copper. If so disassemble & go with something else. Its definitely something I havent seen in 12 yrs of pool work
  8. You cannot remove the panels on your Beachcomber. They are individual T&G pieces. Check your light first to see if there is water in it. That would be my guess. Since it is a front loading light you will have to bring the water level down. If it is not there its one of the RFM jets in the bottom. You would have to put the tub on its side for that. Removing the the panels is a precision process in which a novice will have to put the tub on its side to put the pull out pieces back in.
  9. You wont go wrong with that tub or Oasis Leisure Centre The Owner of Oasis spas was the designer for the Pacific Moulds. Oasis Leisure was the top Canadian dealer for Pacific. I know the owners & some of the staff personally. They havent grown extensively by carrying bad products or by having poor service. Glen, Len & Jason pride themselves on being the best they can possibly be. If you have doubts stop by Spaworks & check out the Jacuzzi line. They are a great company as well.
  10. You made a great choice. You wouldnt beleive the repairs I am doing and the former dealer is doing on Hydropool tubs. But to be fair Im also repairing a 2004 Beachcomber as well at the moment . I have sold & serviced both & BC is the better tub.
  11. High end & Tatum dont go together. The tubs were cheap with huge mark-ups. It was just kind of smart to get the use of the Laz-y-Boy name.
  12. Balboa has it with their "Spa Monitor" & Gecko has the In.watch. Balboa also has the Dolphin remote which can work with other A/V equipment. The only full interactive remote I have seen is from Coast Which runs with the Gecko packs. But they have more down time then up. Nitrous Your dealer should have the In.watch for about $150http://www.geckoalliance.com/aeware/produit.php?nom=watch
  13. Change the sand. That looks pretty dark since most sand is either white or close to it. I took out sand that was the consistency of mud this year. As mentioned 5 yrs is usually the limit.
  14. That's surprising since Im 6'2" and most of the models fit me quite well. Did you test the Fairmont model Im pretty sure you will fit in that quite well. Im sure your dealer would work with you to exchange models. Considering H20 tubs are among the deepest at 40" and the HS models are under that.
  15. Dealer has to pay and remit PST on the landed cost of the Hot Tub not retail cost. The cost is then factored into the retail price of the tub. In no circumstances is PST to be shown on the sales invoice. With that being said the government has left it where the dealer can charge you PST and then you the customer have to claim the deduction on your income tax forms. Once the tub is delivered to the home by dealer or sub it becomes real property no matter if they do the wiring or your guy does the wiring. So PST should not be charged.
  16. Are you sure those are the 2 models your looking at? The 362 is a smaller tub with a lounger & the summit is all bucket seating
  17. Follow the link http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10335
  18. The question is, what makes of tubs do you have locally???
  19. Pretty Much 99% of all spas give you manual control of individual jets
  20. Look for someone local who deals With HST synthetics or PSP covers Both are Canadian
  21. I believe the transfer fee is still $100 I know there are a few brands that have changed their warranty to strictly original residence. If you have a good dealer and they move it for you then fill out all warranty issues with the original address you should be fine.
  22. Cant speak for the others but i do know the Beachcomber warranty is quite exceptional. They take care of their dealers financially on warranty issues so there is no need for them to rush & do a less than stellar job No trip charges should ever be applied unless its out of the service area. The warranty is still transferable & even if you move & bring your tub with you its still under warranty and your new local dealer will fix any issues.
  23. It looks really promising but we cant get them in Canada quite yet as there is finalization approval needed from Health Canada. But as soon as they are ready to ship I will be ordering a couple to test. I also believe that they are only compatible with the XE & XM series of packs and not downgrade capable to the M CLASS & S CLASS packs
  24. With #6awg wire 2 50's will be fine you dont need to go down to 40 & dont mix the breaker sizing ie; 50 & 60 amp breakers. Thicker wire creates less resistance and your tub will run more than fine.
  25. Beachcomber is a well built very efficient tub. Make sure you sit in the models that you are interested in as some BC models have some overly sculpted seats. They dont get mentioned more as much as the others as a result of the main concentration of dealers are in Canada.
