  1. I have a Jacuzzi J365, how often should I change the filters??? We use it year round Thanks Barry
  2. I have an above ground pool and the skimmer door keeps getting stuck closed and then limits water into the skimmer, cause air intake. Is there a reason why that door getting stuck closed???? The water level is a little lower than normal could that be the reason, or something else??? Thanks Barry
  3. Hi, We are planning on going away for a week, and was going to coordinate that week with the time I change my hot tub water. My question is: Is there any harm with draining the hot tub and leaving no water in it for a week?? Is there any thing I should do?? Thanks Barry Sent from my iPhone
  4. I have a Jacuzzi J365, The company says to change the water every 4 months, and the "Clear-Ray" bulb every year. I just wanted to find out what others are doing. How often are you changing your tub water?? And how often are you changing the "clear-Ray" bulb? Thanks, Barry
  5. We have a Jacuzzi 365. I noticed bees going into the area where the shell meets the cabinet. How di I get in there to spray them. And how do I keep them out Thanks Barry
  6. Our water is pretty clear, we use spa 56 twice a week, defend once a week and a cap full of renew each time we use it. It's been 5 months now since last change
  7. I have a jacuzzi J365, and the spa store told me to change the tub water every 4 months. Is this needed???,,, when or if any , when should I change the water. I live in Massachusetts, if that matters. Thanks Barry
  8. What is the best way to test my spa water?? I use the shakers for my pool, and was given the test strips for my spa by the dealer. Both ways, seems to depend on your color preception, th shakers depend on what you hold the shaker up to, and the test strips is based on interpretation of colors. I read some reviews of the reading devices, which all and all weren't good. I don't want to keep going to the store, since it is 40 minutes away. Any suggestions of what method to use, or a good meter (reading device) Thanks Barry
  9. Ok, I made a mistake in my original price!! I am looking at my bill of sale: We got The J365 (which was ordered, we waited a month) It has a chestnut case, with a monaco shell. We had a custom cover made due to the fact it is not square shaped, but more of rectangle shaped,(84x91) And we wanted the cover to lift towards the side, where it usually lifts from the opposite end of the controls. The custom cover was thrown in for free. We got the Covermate Coverlifter III Steps (smart Steps) which match the cabinet A complete Chemical start-up kit. It has the Clearray Purification system And they gave me an 90 minute class on the chemicals. They delivered it, set it up. All for the price of $8,6660.44 Tax included That's my story and I'm sticking to it
  10. We just got a 365 a month ago, and paid $8,400 when all the haggling was done. We live in Massachusetts, that price was tax included. We love our 365, we are in it everyday. Have it outside on the stamped concrete patio, with low voltage lights all around. And a set up for a TV. Takes me two minutes to hook up the TV. Can't wait to watch the superbowl while hot tubbing Barry
  11. Since our hot tub is outside and we live in Massachusettts, our towels/robes will probably be pretty cold when we come out of the hot tub. I wanted to see what if anything we can use to heat up our towels while we are in the tub?? I thought of one of those Conair towel warmers at Amazon, but they are mainly indoor use and have bad reviews. Any suggestions??? Thanks Barry
  12. I generally do not test my water, too much chemistry-invovled. For the past 11 years my test kit consisted of a underwater mask and my nose. ( if I can't see across clearly, I do something about it) And have had excellent luck, ...with running the filter thru the night it is clearing up, I think I put too much chemicals in. Here are my chemicals: Quick Clear From: Capo Industries LTD 1200 Corporate Dr. Burlington, ON L7L 5R6 Canada ACCU 50 Algaecide From: Accucare Supply inc 95 Hathaway Center Providence, RI 02907 Active ingredients: n-Alkyl (60%C14, 30%C16, 5%C12, 5%C18) dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride........................................49.8% n-Dialkyl (60%C14, 30%C16, 5%C12, 5%C18) methyl benzyl ammonium chloride......................................0.2% INERT ingredients.........................................50% SUPER SHOCK From: Accu-Care Supply 109 King Philip Rd East Providence, RI 02916 Active ingredients: Sodium Hypochorite.....................12.5% Inert Ingredients.............................87.5% And of course HTH chlorine granuals Thanks Barry
  13. I went in the pool last night and it was perfect, I had a mask on and I could see from one end of the pool to the other, clear as day. The filter was off during the night, we have been having 90 degree weather lately. I got up this morning and the pool still looked great at 8am. I started the filter, and mixed up some shock and algaeside and dumped it into the pool and then added a little "quick clear"..Just to stay ahead of the warmth and algae. Then almost immediately the pool went cloudy...I went to work figureing it was from all the chemicals and that it would clear up in a couple of hours. My wife called at 5pm and said the pool was still cloudy. What could cause this??? I plan on running the filter all night tonight to see if it will clear, but could something be wrong with my filter??/ (sand filter) It has been running with no problem lately. Or is it that I put to much chemicals in and it will take awhile, I put in half a scoop of chorine, probably 4-5 oz of the algaecide, 2 oz of "quick clear" and a little shock. Any suggestions thanks Barry
  14. Occassionally I'll get a lot of air in my system. When I shut the pump down a lot of air bubble come up from the pump and sometimes knocks my skimmer basket out of its mount. Then I look down at the pump basket window and half of it is filled with air. How can I fix this from happening??? Also, I just bought one of those fountains from Namco that hooks to the return, and that seems to vibrate a little and the flow seems to be unsteady...which appears to look like air in the system also. Any suggestions??? I have a seven position valve sand filter (Jaccuzzi brothers) and a 18x33 above ground pool. Thanks Barry
