  1. I have a water feed from my pump for a waterfall, so getting water to it is not a problem... just wondering if there were any water plan plans
  2. I'm looking for a DYI waterfall plan/instructions. I was looking at getting an artificial waterfall rock, but it is huge $$$$, I'm thinking I can do something myself since I am pretty handy
  3. A circ pump will save you some $ but it's not really substantial, maybe $5-$10 per month IMO. Where the circ pump really helps is that it allows the ozone to flow through the water 24/7 instead of just while the spa is filtering for the 4-6 hrs or so that it is programmed to do with a 2 speed pump. A circ pump is also obviously much quieter but that's probably only a consideration if you're placing the spa close to the house or if the neighbor is close. The other side of the discussion is the 2-speed pump filters more and it's one less part to fix some day. While you may want to factor these things in don't make them the deal maker/breaker. I'm in Canada and intend to leave it running all winter, is this a factor?
  4. I'm looking into buying a hot tub, the model I'm looking at has 2x5HP pumps but no circ pump. Does the Circ pump save $$ in operating costs vs using one of the regular pumps at low speed? Is it worth getting the circ pump?
  5. I only found Whirlpool Tubs for your bathroom, not Hot Tubs
  6. For sure, I'm cynical by nature. I just wish that there would be a real 'Consumer's Report' style review of popular spas brands, I like Arctic's approach, overall impressed with the tub design, but others have more 'Wow' factor. If you read on every manufacturer site, they all claim to have the highest efficiency. I've only seen Arctic publish any documentation to this regard.
  7. I can decide what fits/feels/looks best to me I know that, but after spending $10k if I discover that my hydro bills are $100/month and the hoses are leaking in January because its a POS, then who cares how comfortable I am sitting in it.... it's not like I can decide to return it at that time... This is why I posted my questions... what are the best Quality and Energy Efficient brands out there?
  8. I looked at the Beachcomber, and was not really impressed with the designs... I guess its personal in the end.
  9. I have a Salt Water Pool, I'm totally sold on the benefits, but there does not seem to be unaimous consent when it comes to salt water and Spas. Is there any truth to salt 'rusting' or damaging Spa parts? Is this technology viable/beneficial for Spas?
  10. Correct, the Arctic Yukon and Artesian Cypress are within $400, the Jacuzzi is approx $1000 less.
  11. There is no definitive Top 5, 10 or ... but you probably know that and are really asking for people's opinions of what they like best. This would be my short list of brands to check out: http://www.arcticspas.com http://www.calderaspas.com/Locator/index.html http://www.dimensiononespas.com/findadealer.asp http://www.hotspring.com/index_spas_hot_spring.html http://www.jacuzzi.com/products/ http://www.marquisspas.com/locator.asp http://retailer.sundancespas.com/Retailers/index.php Thanks for the feedback. Do you think Artesian Spas also fall into this category? The problem I'm having is there is no real objective data out there to compare one against the other; instead I have to rely on dealers to tell me why 'their's is the best'. My short list is as follows: Arctic Yukon Signature Series Jacuzzi J-365 Artesian Cypress Point Since I live in Canada, thermal efficiency will also be a huge factor
  12. Just curious to get a rating of the Top 5 Spa brands in terms of Quality/Reliability/Thermal efficiency etc...
  13. That's the exact quote I also got in Ottawa, the guy said he was giving me a 'special deal' just for me
