  1. Mine does exactly the same thing. I have been using bromine as well and the levels always seem to be high. I don't recall having this problem with Chlorine. Is this foam issue caused by the bromine? The foam and bubbles are rediculouse when the jets are running but the water is crystal clear any other time.
  2. Just a quick question. I am using chlorine instead of bromine in my hot tub. The test strips read that the bromine level is very high. How can this be? Should I just ignore that reading? Thanks, Chris
  3. Hello Everyone, I've been checking out this forum for a few days and it seems there is a wealth of knowledge here. Actually theres so much information that I am even more confused. Maybe thats normal for a new hot tub owner. We just bought a Leisure Bay 40000C used. It's 2 years old and in great shape. The owner gave us all there chemicals (brand is Blue Wave). The chemicals include Chlorine Tablets, Ph Increaser, Hardness Increaser, Alkalinity Increaser, and Stabilizer. I put the chorine tablets in a floating dispenser and set it on its lowest setting. That has actually kept the clorine at a pretty good level. The level of everything else is low... probably because of my lack of knowledge of how much to add. The instructions on the chemicals are all for 10,000 gallon pools. Here's the question... should I just get rid of all the chemicals the previous owner gave me and start with my own? If so what is the best choice of chemicals to go with? I have been looking at Leisure Time because it seems to be a pretty simple process. Also, I have a light brown/gray scum that is forming on bubbles in the hot tub. Anyone know what that may be or what causes it? It gets on our bathing suits and forms a ring around the tub. It can be wiped off easily but it does look disgusting. I really appreciate all your help.
