  1. Thanks spaboy62, I purchase the gazebo from the spas dealer were I purchased my spa. When spring comes I will be closing it up with white cedar walls( spa height ) and put screen windows all around. Mosquitos are ferocious in my area, I live close to the water. Dan
  2. Here's my setup. HEET from LA Spas. Newly purchase gazebo. Dan
  3. Looks like a pattern, it could be the bromine reacting with the filters, it would be nice if someone could confirm or dismiss this. I also have 3 main pumps and one circulating pump, and as my filters have lasted nearly two years. I dont think this is the reason why your filters are not lasting long. This is because only pump 1 uses two of the filters as the intake, the circulating pump uses the other filter and pumps 2 and 3 uses the four inlets in the bottom of the spa. I also have 3 main pumps but I don't have a circulating pump. But I also think the filter bags don't like bromine.
  4. Hi, I'm responding on my previous post in June, I have converted to bromine since then but I had just replaced my spas from an Oasis to a HEET. I am know going trough filter bags like crazy(8 since June). The dealer says it is because I know have 3 5HP motors and it is too strong of a flow for the filters. My old spas the Oasis I had it for over six months and never went trough any filters. I think it might just be the bromine causing them to shred(almost dissolve) withing 3 months. I have just converted to pleated paper filters(Unicel 5CH-203) and I hope they will last longer. I am not willing to return to chlorine as maintenance is so much less frequent and a bit easier using bromine, and people constantly telling me how clear the water is.. Cheers, Dan
  5. You say the biggest flaw of your spa is the fabric filters, I feel this is one of the best features of my spa, I have the HEET for LA Spas. I wonder what are you using for sanitizer, I use Chlorine. Dan Hi Dan, How old is your LA spa? Maybe they have upgraded the filters. If you look at older posts many of us have had trouble with this fabric filter, falling apart. I have been a spa owner for over 20 years and I work very hard to keep my spa clean and sanatized. I liked the idea of the fabric filters and I sure hope LA has fixed a problem many of us have had. Even the pool company that sold me the spa told me there can be a problem with the filters and also the circulation pump advising me that their experience is that the circ pump seems to go out after 3 years. I over looked all of this because LA pricing was better than some of the other spas with the same features and power. I am sure you enjoy your therapy as much as I do. This is one strong spa for the price. I am jealous, I could not fit the HEET on my porch. Also when I looked into replacing the fabric filters I found the pleated ones to be around the same price. But I would look again at the fabric on my next filter change if LA has fixed the problem. I had had the HEET for about 6 weeks now, but I owned the OASIS for about 7 months, the filter I have are about 6 months old, I return the original filters on the OASIS with the tub. They new HEET came with new filters, Now I alternate the 2 sets.

  7. Not an answer to all your questions but Dichlor is available in Ontario; most dealers carry it even Wal-mart and Canadian Tire sell it. You can do a search of the forum as there are many people here who have posted the pros and cons of each method. I just went to Wal-Mart and no dichlor, only calcium-hypo. I went to 2 spa dealers and none there...
  8. Hi, I have been using Lithium and chlorine puck(trichlor) , but looking for a more stable (easy maintenance) alternative. I do not have a ozonator. I have the HEET for LA Spas(400g). Here's my issue, it seems like a lot of people are using dichlor, but since I live in Canada(Ottawa area), I am unable to find dichlor. I have been offered some bromine tablets with an oxidizer. but now that I have it, they tell me I should empty my spa before converting to bromine. I have only had the water for a bit over 5 weeks, the water is clear and I'm not ready to empty my spa yet. I guess my question is what is the easiest way to maintain my spas(without going overboard). Is there issues with bromine versus chlorine. I even heard there may be issues with bromine turning the cover red, also heard that bromine smell is harder to remove from skin/swim suit(not sure if its true). Also heard bromine smells less than chlorine so I don't know what to think right now, my spa barely smell with lithium and pucks. I also read I should not use chlorine pucks in my spa. I'm confused. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dan
  9. I have the Aqua-Klean filters (two sets)since end on September last year and they still look in good shape, I had bought the OASIS and I have traded it in for the HEET model 5 weeks ago, the dealer gave me another new set(i left the original ones in the OASIS). The original set did not feel the same as the ones I purchase, these new ones seems to be thicker than the original set. Bottom line is, I find the filter system is very easy to maintain. I just hope they last more than a year. 2 sets should last at least 2 years . I guess time will tell. I have a question, what are you using for sanitizers, chlorine or Bromine, I have been using chloring but I am in the process of converting to bromine... cheer , Dan
  10. Hi Ron, Here's the water in my spa after about 5 weeks use. I have the HEET from LA Spas. Dan
  11. Yes this is true, wet test is very important, For me the LA spas had the just the right water height but then again nobody fits the same way. The Caldera was a nice spa, I loved the captain chair, just the lounge chair kept moving me to the left left of the lounger, I kept pulling myself back into position with the handle bar. Price was good too, i just hesitated because of the lounger...Now that I have the HEET version, I cannot compare it is a more expensive spa and would probably compare to a more equipped Caldera... My dealer is fairly new in the business(less than 2 years), but I can alway talk to main store in Montreal if anything would happen to my local dealer. I feel it is always good to support local business when we can. Dan
  12. Hi, I would like to says that I am a proud owner of the LA Spas, the model is the 2007 HEET with 3 motors, 1 fountain, 4 LEDs lights and stereo with the summit speakers. Things I don't have are recirculating pump, also no ozonator. I have had it for 3 weeks now. I have upgraded from a LA Spas OASIS which I had for a little over 6 months. I have tested a few spas from different manufactures, looked at Jacuzzi, Beachcomber, Artesian, also wet tested Sundance Cameo(friend), wet tested 5 year old Hot Spring Grandee(another friend), wet tested a Caldera C45, and also wet tested the LA Spas Oasis. The Sundance Cameo was very nice, also the Hot Springs Grandee was nice and big but not enough jets(possibly the newer model has more jets). The Caldera C45 I could not stay put in the lounger seat. Then I went to a local spa dealer(5minutes from my place) who sells the LA Spas and Catelina. I wet tested the Oasis and really like it, comfortable, good warranty, local, and the price was right. After 6 months use I liked it a lot but few things where missing. Here are the thing I didn't like or though was missing for complete enjoyment. It only had 2 motors(not enough jets), no real step to get into the spas( few people almost fell/slip getting into it), only had 1 LED light, and no stereo(this one was not has important). I went back to my dealer and he made me an offer I could not pass up in upgrading it to the HEET model, this where having great service really help. The only issues I had with the original spa (Oasis) where a couple jets needed to be replace from the start, and the cover stitches where starting to rip where the cover lifter was putting pressure and the dealer had ordered a new cover to replace it no fuss(again great customer service). By the way on the new spas I have a different cover lifter which should not happen again. I cannot talk about long term reliability since only had a LA spas for about 6 months, also I cannot tell how much energy the spa uses since this is the first winter in my new home, I live in Canada(Ottawa) and winters are pretty cold. I compared my bills with one of my neighbor and it was similar, of course we don't use the same energy but numbers weren't far of. Sometimes I wonder if the ozonator and re-circ pump would make a difference but it too late now. I find HEET form LA Spas is perfect me and my family, I love the huge step to get in(also use as a cool down seat), and having 3 motors with 61 jets is amazing. Also another reason I wanted to get a bigger spa was the amount of water in the spa, here's why, the Oasis only had 325 gallons/1,230 liters (spas size 83"x83") and when you have 4-5 bathers the water level can come up quite a bit making the spa too deep. Now the HEET is a 92"x92" and can hold 400gallons/1,514 liters, this gives more space and the water level doesn't seem to change much. I just wanted to share my experience as many people are coming on this site the get more info on different spas out there, LA Spas might not be the perfect spas for everyone but I hope my experience will help someone else when looking to buy a a spa, not everyone will be lucky like me to be able to trade in the spa after 6 months use. Dan
