  1. After a couple of years of thinking and looking, my husband and I finally decided on the deck and the tub! Among others, looked at D1, and wet tested Beachcomber, Hot Spring and Master Spa. To both of us, the clear winner the second we got in the tub, was the Beachcomber 720x. Now, before the tub goes on order, looking for your comments on any of the following: 1 - The local dealer is close (maybe 45 minutes away), but they remind me of used car salesmen. While on vacation, we visited another dealer who were also very knowledgable, but also nice - they just about bought us lunch! However, they're 3 hours north, but were actually willing to deliver to us, though delivery cost was unknown. Both have been in business for quite some time, and while we liked this dealer, I think it probably really does make much more sense to buy from the local guy in case of problems and even just for supplies. Comments? 2 - Price. The local dealer's quote was $8195 base cost for the tub, other dealer's $7995. Both priced options basically the same. The local's delivery charge is $299. Add tax and basically we're looking at 10K - I'm in NYS, is this reasonable? Hopefully costs haven't changed much in the last few months. 3 - The ozonator debate - local guy explained it's benefits & included it as one of the options. Upstate dealer does not believe in them, and has sold only a very few with them over the years. Does it really help and/or are there any proven health concerns? 4 - The cover is TBD, but per the bldg insp is supposed to comply with ASTM F 1346, or else we need gates, just like a pool. We had chosen the Lift 'n Store for estimates sake, but don't know if this qualifies. Will have to check with the dealer, anyone know about this? Whew...sorry so long. Any info and/or comments would be appreciated. Can't wait - deck construction begins in a week! Thanx in advance!!!
