  1. I have a new Sundance optima (July 2006) with Ozanator and use the Nature2 cartridge. I had problems keeping the water clean and smelling good when I was just using MPS to shock the water. I drained and refilled. I still have the Nature2 but, I only use Dichlor. I use the dichlor each time we exit the spa, 2 tsp, and then I use the dichlor weekly to "Shock" the spa. Since I started using this, the water has stayed crystal clear and it smells great. The Nature2 cartridge is really not what it is cracked up to be. It will work but, only when used with Dichlor (Spagurad Chlorine Concentrate).
  2. Waterbear, I am using Nature2 with Dichlor only. No MPS. I would like to keep the Free Chlorine level between 3 and 5PPM. How do I accomplish this? I would like to shock the tub (480 gallons with Ozonator) once a week and add in the dichlor after I use it each time. But, it seems like the chlorine level drops fast. I just added 3 tsps 2 nights ago and got the Free Chlorine to 3 PPM. I did not use the tub and now, less than 48 hours later, the Chlorine level is back to 0PPM. I had to add in more Dichlor to raise the level of chlorine before I could use it tonight. I don't want to have to add in chlorine each time before I use it. I don't mind adding it in each time I get out. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  3. It is a non-chlorine shock. It is Non-chlorine oxidizer. (potassium peroxymonosulfate)
  4. My spa is 480 gallons. So, I add in 1 tsp of dichlor AFTER each use. Then weekly, I shock with dichlor at the rate of 2tsp? I just want to be sure my measurements are correct. So, if I use dichlor for shock and sanitizer, I don't need the Spa shock. Correct?
  5. The nature2 directions state to add in 1 TBLS of Non-chlorine Oxidizer (Shock) per 250 gallons before each use. It says to only use dichlor if it looks hazy or at the start-up when you add in fresh water. This is where I am getting different opinions. I am not sure when to add in the shock and the dichlor. Some people have said they follow the directions and it works. Some say it does not work and they add in dichlor after each use instead of the shock. If I add in the dichlor after each use, when do I add in shock? Once per week?
  6. Do you have any suggestions for other chemical systems that utilize Bromine?
  7. I am not happy with the Nature 2. Should I forget about the Frog and go to something else? I would like to stick with bromine.
  8. I am switching from Nature2 to a Bromine system. I was looking into the Spa Frog Floating System. Has anyone had good luck with this system? Is it easy to understand and use? Also, does anyone like any other Bromine spa care kits?
  9. I was wondering if the nature2 was doing anything, since I already had smelly , green water after just 2 weeks of use. Will the dichlor help with this? If I add in the TBLS of dichlor weekly, how much Enhanced Shock do I need to add in and when do I add it? Weekly, bi-weekly or after each use? I can't seem to find any simple, easy to follow instructions for these chemicals. It has been frustrating.
  10. I recently purchased a 2006 Sundance Optima, 480 gallons. I am using the Nature2 cartridge in the skimmer. I am using the Spaguard chemicals. When I first filled the tub, I put in an entire bottle of Spa Sentry and then shocked the spa with Enhanced Shock, the next day. I was told to shock the spa approx. 1 /week. These were the only chemicals I was told I needed. 9 days after using the spa nightly, the water was cloudy and green with a musty odor. The dealer told me it was metals in the water and had me add in an entire bottle of SpaGuard stain and Scale and then shock the spa with approx. 2/3 of a cap.??? He is never good at giving me an accurate amount to use. Anyway, I ended up having to drain and refill the spa because the Stain and Scale and the shock did not work. After I drained it, the dealer recommended another entire bottle of Stain and Scale. And then the entire bottle of Spa Sentry. I decided to go out on my own and I just followed the directions on the back of the Stain and Scale bottle. I only added 2 ozs. I did add the entire bottle of Spa Sentry. The next day, I shocked it with 3 ozs of the enhanced shock. So far, the water is clear but it has only been 3 days. My question is, do I need another chemical to go along with the Spa sentry and the Enhanced Shock? Do I need to be using some sort of dichlor or chlorine? My dealer says no, but I think that I do. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
