  1. Hi yes you will need a hose clamp. I helped my brother in law do this with his 18 ft intex pool last year. It was a great idea & it worked wonderfully. You should get an intex side mount floating skimmer to hook up to your pools suction. I would not use the flat tubing, go to lowes or home depot or pool store & get 1 1/2 in flex hose about 3 ft length. He did this & using the sand filter the pool stayed sparking clean with no problems. Good Luck, Nancy ok cool...but is it usually a direct fit to the exisiting valves on the pool? I dont want to have to change anything. If Im correct I'll be using the flat tubing that expands when water goes thru to it...so this should just slide over the fittings on the pool and keep them on there with some sort of clamp or band? Am I thinking correctly on this...thankyou for your help in advance.
  2. Hi Greg! The intex pools use a really bad way to filter their pools. I have had one the size of yours & gave it to my brother in law. He wanted to use a sand pump with it. He found a great deal on a Hayward 1hp motor & sand filter. He had to change out the 2 hose fittings but let me tell you this was a wonderful idea & it kept the water sparkling clear. He used my aqua critter until he got his own. The intex side mount floating skimmer also can be purchased directly from intex for about $12. This is a great pool set up if you can get a sand filter to use with it. If not good luck you will spend more time & money on intex product that it is worth. Have a gr8 summer. Nancy
  3. Hi well I've been there & done that! I just took down my 18ft round because it dodged one major hurrican, the second Katrina got it. This pool is really neat because you can fo laps. Installation absolutly sucks. Company offers no tech support at all. Thx 4 the advice though. Oh Splash pools has a good rep the cheaper imitations are the crudy ones!
  4. Hi I don't know if you found a used splash but please do not buy used. Splash pools sell reconditioned pools & trade in & they have been completely checked & defect free. A pool like the size I have 13x25.5 x4 will run $1500 instead of $5000. Contact splash at 1800-92-splash. Good Luck! Nancy
  5. Hi I own a splash pool! These pools are so expensive because they are made to last! Mine was not bought new & I am having so many problems out of it. I talked to a splash representive today & they sell reconditioned pools that are quite a few dollars less. My pool was around $7000 a few yrs ago now $5,000 but you can get a perfectly good reconditioned pool from them the same size 13X25.5x4ft for $1,500 with a good warrenty. The cheap knock off are exactly that a cheap knockoff, Intex even makes these pools now. The splash foot blox is a wonderful add on instead of using patio bricks as one of my legs on corner slid off Hope this helps you!!!!!!!!! Good Luck, Nancy
  6. Hi I am wondering if anyone has a splash superpool? I just set up a 13x25x4 rectangle pool & have had nothing but problems. I contacted splash & they are no help at all. I got the pool filled up by last fri. morning by sat. afternoon & almost 11,000 gals of water on of the leg supports on corner of pool came off. There is a piece of tarp like material that connects from bottom of pool to legs with a steel bar that tore off. Splash said to drain pool! OH NO!!! I suggested to hubby that we may can get a car jack under the leg & get it back on concrete support. Steel bar rail will not budge too much weight from water. They also told me that the material that came off of bottom would have to be put back on. I can't believe they want me to pay almost $400 to ship this heavy pool back to them so they can fix it. It is not under warrenty. I totally drained the pool & it took forever. I am totally at wits end. Have to replace hose on inside of pool when I get it drained because pump would not prime, I have tried everything. This pool should be able to function without the torn strap on the bottom. I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix this thing so it doesn't happen again. I took pics of problems so I am praying that someone will please help me with this dilemma. I am so distraught over this & have worked so hard to get this pool up. Please offer any & all advice if you can. No splash dealers in area & pool companies do not want to help. Thanks in Advance!
