  1. have owned our Calspa for 13 months now. We asked for the full foam option. Probably not needed in Houston but cant hurt. 13 months and no problems. Barely noticed electricty increase if at all.
  2. WalMart sells a similar unit to the one pictured. I just picked one up for about $12.00 if I remember correctly. Also came with a small brush that clips on the end instead of the nozzle and a small net that clips to the handle for skimming the surface. I looked on their website but did not find it, but it was in my local store right with the pool chemicals
  3. ha-we pay around 11.5 to 12.5 cents per KWH in Houston, TX. Better hope your state does not deregulate like Texas did sold on the idea that consumers can save a bunch of money by choosing their electric provider-what a joke!
  4. Just a heads up for what I thought was a decent deal if you have spa that uses a Sloan LED lighting controller. Someone on ebay has a 23 FM Modulators listed for sale for $39.99 each or "Make Offer". I offered $10.00, plus $5.00 shipping which was accepted so I bought and just recevied one. It simply plugs into your Sloan LED lighting controller which I think is one of the most common LED controllers made for spa LED lighting and has a RCA input jack for a music input to make the lights flash to the rhythm of the music. Cheesey I know, but for $15.00 bucks I thought "what the heck". Not sure what they cost normally. If interested jsut type "spa led music" and that should take you straight to it.
  5. What Model is it they are selling? who makes it? it is called Duo Sap by DM Industries
  6. Cal Spa makes a couple of 2 and 3 person spa-83"x43" which is 2 seats that face each other , and 54"x78" which is the same 2 seats, plus a lounger by their side.
  7. Tiny- could you explain the .60 cent increase? Thanks
  8. To answer your questions-the dimensions are 93.5"x130", holds 800 gallons and was $6500 for the base unit with cover delivered. With the options was $8050.
  9. Santa dropped of our CN-51 Cal Spa on Christmas day-I couldn't believe it. It heated up to 102 the first night and so far the only problem is I do not want to get out of it. That and somehow the cabinet is the wrong color (more common mahogany color) and should have been a dark brown (less common-smoke color) which they will change out very soon for us. We bought a spa on the big side for the kids to be able to splash around a little bit in the summer and a lounger on the end for me. Options added were the floor dome jets, 2 waterfalls, LED lighting, stainless jet trim rings, 3 extra neck jets in 1 corner, full foam, and ozonator. Thanks to everyone for all of the informative posts and messages on here!! I learned a ton before and even after I made my purchase. Because of what I learned on here, I made some changes to the options on my order that should make the whole experience more enioyable.
  10. Chemgeek-would you add or change any comments on using Bacqua on a spa equiped with an Ozonator?
  11. Does anyone have any experience with the floating thermal covers or blankets? I know some are on the cheap side like bubble wrap and some are more heavy duty. I am considering buying one to use under the foam cover. Do they work? Are they a big hassle? Any good or bad brands? I have a big spa on order 93x130 - 800 gallons, so even in Houston I would like to conserve as much heat as possible during our winter MONTH Probably will not use or need it during the summer months.
  12. I know Roger Clemmens had this feature put into his jacuzzi bathtub. I heard him braggin about it on tv years ago that he could land in Houston at the airport and have the tub heated by the time he got home via phone.
  13. Thanks guys. The spa is a Cal-Spa. The Pre delivery Guide and Owner's manuals are online and they clearly say 50 AMP, so I do not think 60A is needed . The 160-170 feet max is really probably closer to 100-110 feet. Thanks again.
  14. My pre delivery guide for my hottub states the following: "your new spa requries a dedicated 50 amp GFCI service with four #6 AWG copper wires.....You can use #6 for distances up to 85 feet. Wire runs over 85 feet must increase to #4 gauge." Are they talking for the TOTAL run or just from the GFCI breaker to the spa? # 4 for the total run seems to be major overkill, but I do not want to void my warranty. The spa company's phone people cannot answer with any degeree of confidence. My electrician told me the run from my main to the GFCI is 160- 170 feet max, the spa is less that 10 feet away from the GFCI box..............any comments?
