  1. Hi, I have here a Questa Supa Jetflow 2hp pump with a sand filter. It has a see through plastic lid that screw on and has an O-ring. this lid cracked around the top edge and water gushes out there at the moment the pump turns off. I purchased a new lid and when I screwd that on, started the pump once and then when I turned it off, the lid cracked all around and actually the top popped off. I had a hard time returnung it and there were lots of excuses like I didn't fit it right, some other problems etc etc. They would noe sell me another one. So, I welded my old one with a hot air jet that I have here at work for plastiv welding. That worked fine for another 6 month and now it is cracked again - to be expected) I purchased another new lid from a different supplier and this one, I only tightened very slightly. The pump was not sucking as the lid was leaking and I saw airbubbles being drawn around the new O-ring in the lid. I tightgetened the lid just a little more (still not half as tight as my old one) and I suddenly saw a small crak appearing in it, again arouynd the edge. I turned the pump off and at that moment, the shock wave caused the lid to crack almost all the waty round. I cracks in a weird way sort of like automotive glass. My old lid does not crack like tht and I strongly believe these are made of substandard material but I am open to suggestions. I now still have my old lid (I will weld it again) but I would really like to get this sorted out properly but so far, all I get is that "there must be something else wrong with your pool" the latest is that I will have to get a new pump... The pressure on the filter rides on about 50-60 and it has done that for years. The pump lid is not on the pressure side and In my opnion, there is nothing else to it. Has anyone else ever experienced these problems and how was it fixed?? Kind regards Bernt
