  1. I bought mine at Costco. So, I'm OK. Although, it still works quite well.
  2. The wet test is gonna cost you $5K. You better make sure you get your money's worth.
  3. New Spa at Costco There's a new spa at Costco. http://hottubsoc.com/default.aspx Just saw it today. Looks really nice. Sadly, it doesn't come with the $5K wet test. So, you can only pay them $4599. Made by a company called "OC". Don't know anything about them.
  4. You may want to dig just a little deeper.
  5. Now, don't be bringing facts into this.
  6. Naw, I've just decided that you're right. If you pay at least 8K to a dealer, who allows you to wet test, then you have a quality tub. Period. End of story. You really don't need any information on exactly why the more expensive one (with a wet test, from a dealer, of course) is better. It just is. And anyone who asks why it is should be ridiculed. Because they just don't understand quality. And one day, some years from now, they might be sorry. So they really should return the tub that seems to work just fine, because it might not later. And, they'll wish they had spent 10K at a local dealer ( I don't know how 3 empty store fronts where dealers used to be fits into this equation, but I'm sure I could still get valuable dealer support from them if only I had given them 10K for their tub and gotten a wet test.) And, more importantly, when my less than 10K, non-wet tested, cheap, might go bad some day, Costco tub goes bad, I won't try to return it because the Costco return policy might be different for Hot tubs than for the entire rest of evertthing I buy there. Instead, I'll spend the rest of my life on this little forum screaming to the heavens about how low quality the tub is and about how stupid anyone is who likes theirs. And, hopefully, I'll get to be the dealer loved poster boy of the forum. That's all. I've just really learned my lesson.
  7. Maybe you can find a local dealer who can charge you 4-5K more for the same tub and let you wet test it. Then you'd have a high end tub instead of a cheap Costco tub.
  8. How dare you still love it!! Don't you know you didn't get a wet test?!
  9. And for only 2-3 grand more. Your right about one thing, you get what you pay for. You're right. Maybe some dealer will let me give him 3 grand for a wet test. Then I can be happy with my tub.
  10. Remember, the wet test is worth between 4K and 5K. So, you get what you pay for.
  11. If only you could put this energy to productive purpose.
  12. At least you didn't call anyone a "nitwit". I congratulate you on an apparent increase in civility.
  13. I can live without: 1. salesmen 2. dealer support 3. wet testing and 4. and paying a lot more for what still looks like the same box of water
  14. It's cause you can't wet test them. And, there's no friendly salesman to promise..er..I mean, provide..you service. And they might have cheaper pumps that are powered by rodents on hamster wheels. I'm not saying they do, but, you know, they might. So, you should be afraid to buy one.
  15. It's cause you get a wet test. How would you know if you like it once you have it if you didn't get a wet test before you bought it?
  16. I think there's only one actual owner that's against and he'll be here in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... ......... .......
  17. Well, thanks Spa User Guy. While my first thought was that the definition was not in the post when I replied and that perhaps you were just being, well, a jerk, I'm going to presume that, aside from your obvious trouble with name recognition, you were, in fact, trying to be helpful. Thanks. I appreciate it.
  18. Yes, there's a large international conspiracy group thats plotting against you. Just you. Everyone who doesn't agree with you is in on it. But, yes, you're far too smart for me. I'll never be able to win an arguement. I mean, if I ever have one. By the way, your "facts" really don't bother me. In fact, I don't care. You seem to really enjoy having a spa that doesn't work. Who am I to try to deprive you of that joy? I don't recall suggesting that I needed you to be impressed. And, no it's not a secret. I pay $4K and it works. I'm OK with that. I wasn't expecting any more.
  19. OK, painfully vocal? I'm not sure where you see a slur. Clearly, though, a sample size of 5 (I don't know whether that number's accurate or not) is not a statistically valid sample size. So, if I could match wits with your superior intellect, I might dispute your claim of having facts. But, you're right, I wouldn't stand a chance against your genius. But, yeah, mine works and I'm content with it.
  20. I'm not happy because I didn't pay enough for it or get a wet test. If only I had a salesman to talk to.
  21. Here's the website http://www.platinumhottubs.com/ I have the Platinum Elite II (not the Legend Elite, this year's model) , as do many of those here who have one. The owners, for the most part (one vocal exception), are happy. Those who sell other brands sem to dislike them.
