nope, no foam liner for me. I *think* I may have lucked out. I didn't see any visible tears, holes, scratches. I also didn't feel any tears, holes, etc when running my hand over the areas where I remember the cat trying to climb out. Needless to say...I did not see the cat in my yard last night!

Not sure about the foam wall liner...is that another type of liner or something that would go under a vinyl liner? I'll have to check when I get home tonight and see if I can see any marks or anything on the liner. Boy that would suck, this is a brand new pool we had installed 3 months ago! I was already to jump in and save the cat. Then it started swimming. When it was having trouble climbing out, I tried to get it to swim to the stairs....guess it didn't want to go that far! Someone got a nice surprise last night when their cat came home smelling of chlorine!

Last night when I let my dog out I did not see the neighboor hood cat on the top rails of our pool. Well, my dog did. Scared the crap out of the cat, and the cat fell in. Before I could get the dogs in and over to the cat to get him/her out, the cat was trying to climb out of the pool with it's front paws on the top rail. I have to assume being an outside cat that it still has it's claws. I also have to assume that since the cat was trying to climb out, it probably used it's claws to get a grip. Question is, how do I check to see if the cat did any damage to the liner? To the cat's credit...it did the doggie paddle VERY well!

Question, We have the Biltmore in-pool steps. The directions say to use a bag of sand to weigh down the steps. My wife doesn't really want to do that, nor do I actually. We have plenty of old edging type stones/bricks stacked up around the house that we need to get rid of. Could we use those? As long as we clean them off of course. I am just concerned about them affecting the water chemistry at all. Thanks

looks great. That is right along the lines of what I am planning to do. Did you replace your old pool with one the same size or was it different? I've got a big round pool in a big oval hole now! So I have a bunch of sod on the one side to level out. But as I said, your pics give a great reference point as that is almost exactly what I had in mind. No plants for me around it either, just some stones works. Thanks again.

where in the north east? I'm in CNY, so we got the rain too...although not as bad as just east of NY. Thanks, I'd appreciate the pics. I am surprised the old pool never gave way, underneath the deck was no longer supported my the metal supports, it looked like 2x4's were propped up against the side. Of course we bought the house in the winter, and didn't see that. Oh well. Made it one season swimming in it and it didn't give way, so that worked! Funny thing is, wouldn't have even known this year either. We had a house fire and were out for this past winter. When we got back in, I looked out back, and saw the skimmer wall ready to just blow!

thanks Trigger. Sounds like exactly what I am looking to do. You don't happen to have a pic of what you have done? If you wouldn't mind sharing it of course. I hated the old pool, thank god it was on it's last legs. Gave me an excuse to get it out of there. Mowing the lawn and weedwhacking was a chore just making sure I didn't hit it. That's the main reason I am looking to do something like this. And well, since most of the area is dug up already, part of it's already done!

Hello, Hope you all can give me some advice. We recently just replaced out 15x30 oval with a 20' round Sharkline pool. In doing this, we also had to take our upper deck down. So now we have a good amount of dirt around the pool, especially from the area where the old pool was. We are planning to rebuild the deck next year to connect to the new pool, but for the time being at least(and who knows if what I have planned for the deck will actually happen), what will be something good to put around the pool? The oval pool we had had no "border" around the pool so to speak, so grass was right up to it. I want to avoid that with this pool. I was thinking of like those small white stones as something to go around the pool. Has anyone done anything like this? Keeping in mind of planning to rebuild the deck too, I would preferably need something that would still allow us to set the posts for the new deck as needed. Thanks Chaz
