Since you are up the hill all of these contaminants will travel into your yard and home by natural convection currents. If she has a compose bin that too must be removed. I would also tell her that you do not want her using any fertilizers as you are also allergic to any chemical product. I would inform her of your concern regarding all the nasty little creatures that a garden can attract,such as bugs,worms,moles,mite infested birds,disease carrying squirrels,chipmunks,racoon's,possum's and the large rat's you saw in her yard that probably are harvesting all kinds of disease if not the plague itself. you may want to go to a pet store and purchase a few dead ones that they use to feed to snakes and throw them in her yard the night before before you mention this and then go hysterical when you see them in her yard the next morning. At this time you might want to mention your severely allergic reaction to any bee sting. Yellow Jacket's,Hornet's,Bumble bee's,Honey bee's oh My.... Yellow Jackets,Hornet,Bumble bees,Honey bees oh My................ Yes a garden is something you do not want next to your living quarters. You have no allergic reaction to concrete and would appreciate it if she removed the garden and installed concrete instead. If this doesn't work you could always tell her that she should mind her own flippin business,install a very high fence and buzz off!

How can they sell a spa for only $10,000 and make any money? What a deal!

1) Why are most covers built using expanded polystyrene (white Styrofoam). Why don't cover manufacturers use Extruded polystyrene. (pink or blue Styrofoam). The R value per inch is much higher. You never use expanded on a residential or commercial project unless you are really trying to cut corners.

The dollar savings per year (extra btu loss) with a 6-4 over a 4-3 with the included 1.5 lb from the cover guy come out to about $5.00 to $8.00 per year. I think his R21 rating is unreal and closer to r 17.This cover is R21 but another dealer will list it as R17 which is closer to its true rating.Remember there is no standard for this rating as of yet as far as I understand. Double wrap......MONEY GRAB!This means that the special heat sealed wrap is no good.Soon they will come out with triple wrap and then Quad wrap with special reflective foil.As long as someone falls for it it will come. The extra hassle with a 6-4 top in my own opinion isn't worth it.A 4-3 with 1.5 lb is the way to go.

I take it that the electrician took out a permit to wire up the spa?Ask for a copy. Give a call to your local electrical inspection office and ask them what wire and breakers will pass code.They will tell your installation does not meet code.Then I would find another dealer and new electrician.

Now the Romex brand is owned by Southwire and is an actual trademarked brand.

1) Is this wrong? Could 8/3 romex on a 50 amp spa be a fire hazard? Is this against code? 2) If my spa is only 40 amps, am I okay? 1) 8/3 were I live will not pass code for 50 amp.8/3 is used for the most part in homes to wire up a range.Romex is a wrong term used by many electricians.Romex is not the correct name for this wire It came from the Rome Wire Company, which originally produced the wire so electricians gave it the name Romex.Its true name is NMD 6/3.This means non metallic sheath dry.To be used only in dry locations. 2) If your spa is name plate rated for 40 yes the wire is o.k. but were I live the Gfi and breaker must be changed to 40 amp.The breaker protects the wire fom melt down.The Gfi serves the same purpose but also protects the spa user rom electrocution.

I looked at some models and they looked good. I was surprised as I had not heard much about it.The web site states they have 200 dealers and have been named one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies every year since 2000.

Question: I need a new cover. I can purchase a 1.5 lb, 4 to 3 inch cover or I can upgrade this cover to 2 lb foam for $40.oo.I can upgrade to 5 to 4 inch for $100 more. I have been told by the seller that it is not worth the extra money. My question is is it worth it or is there so little energy saved that it will not pay back. Please do not post an I think answer. If anyone knows the real answer please post.I tried to find an answer in past posts but have been unable. Thanks

1) The person is thinking about laying out 2 grand for something, they better know if it is going to serve the purpose for what they are buying it for and since its a HOT TUB, if the small and again limited heater will not work for them to keep the water HOT it matters, but for you and your shameful pride you would never consider that and it takes a dealer to point it out, so that you can help the buyer find a product the will meet their needs. 2)I guarantee you this when those Costco and Sam's customers need help with their water and questions about spa care, there not going to Sam's or Costco for help but instead to those dealers are no longer sleazy but just nice guys willing to help. The Grand and Great Hypocrite the Internet buyer who called them sleaze before the sale to only call them friend when they are looking for help down the road. My Comments 1) I don’t know what the two grand tub is but I assume it is a small 110 volt hot tub. Yes this Hot Tub is only suitable for summer use at the cottage or inside and I would say. If you want a spa for winter outside use you should look at a 240 volt model with a 4 or 5.5 k.w heater…….But oh no you guys start the sales pitch again knocking and badmouthing any Tub that you do not make a profit on. This is one of the reasons I did not and will not buy off a Dealer as I don’t need to hear scare tactic sales pitches. 2) I have found all the help I need regarding chemicals and upkeep either on the internet or from the people I purchase my chemicals from. I do not need to pay thousands extra for this knowledge. That is just me and I do not disagree that some people need this help or they need the comfort of a dealer. I do not. When I purchase an electronic item I do not buy the extended warranty as I think it’s just a money grab. This is just my own opinion. Like I said I’m not a dealer so I don’t need to sell a product and I don’t get riled up like you guys do. In 10 years from now you will all wonder why you all wasted this much time on this forum.
