  1. 2015 Marino. It's worth what your local market will allow. It was probably $6,000 - $7,000 new, depending on what your local dealer sells for. If everything is in good condition and it doesn't need a new cover or any service, I would probably be asking $3,000 and negotiate from there.

  2. I believe most stain & scale products contain phosphates as do some filter cleaners. I just refilled my hot tub last week and my tap water had phosphates around 800 ppb. I use Natural Chemistry's phosphate remover which is identical to the SpaGuard one and then I use Natural Chemistry Cleanse Weekly to keep the phosphates down. FYI, I sell hot tubs. When I sell a saltwater hot tub, or a hot tub using the @ease system by Frog, then I care about phosphates because they higher they are the less effective both systems are. If you don't have either system, or care about using the least amount of chlorine possible, then the phosphate level probably won't matter. Phosphates are a nutrient source for bacteria and algae. High levels of phosphates can deplete chlorine levels more rapidly and when there is a lack of sanitizer, bacteria and algae can grow quicker. Just because there isn't sunlight doesn't mean algae won't grow, especially when you have 100 degree water. I'm not going to tell you whether you should or shouldn't care about phosphates. People have owned hot tubs for 40+ years without caring about phosphates. My experience with any of the mineral systems (Frog + Nature2) and saltwater systems is that they work better when phosphates are low or not present. When using a chlorine or bromine system only and not trying to get away with the absolute minimum, then I see less reason to care.

  3. This is referring to the combination locks on the tub cover. Thanks for responding!

  4. If you are using a Hot Spring cover lifter then you need a cover that has the plates in the cover to screw into and I'm not sure if other manufacturer's will offer this. I don't think there is an official lead time on covers, but I was told 8-10 weeks. I have received two cover orders so far and both were around 10 weeks. Your dealer can order covers two ways. First is to ship with hot tubs (I would advise against since hot tub lead times are looooong) and second is to order as a parts order. This will be the 10ish week lead time but your dealer has to order a minimum of 4 covers at a time. As with everything in this Covid world, expect that there could be delays or issues.

  5. Ok what parts do you need? Pumps, control systems, jets etc are made by other companies and can usually be found cheaper online from other sources.. Post photos and a list of what you need and we'll see if we can help.

  6. Hi Aero: I am responding to concerns regarding successive purges and what this may do to components within the plumbing system and jets. I would like to say upfront that I have never met Mr. Leno, the gentleman associated with a blog delineating his results from using our product, Ahh-Some, and numerous other cleaners to gauge their effectiveness in eliminating bio-fouling in "closed loop" plumbing networks. Nor have I instructed him or paid him to perform his testing on his own personal hot tub. Just wanted to make sure that the readers in this forum understand that these are Mr. Leno's views and test results. I would like to thank Mr. Leno for taking it upon himself to spend the time, money and effort needed to perform all these comparison tests over the years. I believe that the forum community has benefitted greatly from his writings. Unique Solutions, as the manufacturer, is not allowed to toot it's own horn in this forum or any other unbiased forum, and this is a very good rule. This forum's purpose is to give the pool, hot tub, swim spa and whirlpool bath owners invaluable information so they can maintain a healthy and happy soaking environment. I want to make it perfectly clear that we have never once encountered any user of our products that have experienced any damage to fittings, o'rings, gaskets, sealers, shells, covers or other components associated with their recreational water vessel. Ahh-Some products have a pH of 8.2-9.0. This is basic and not acidic. When you consider that these vessels use all the caustic and acidic chemicals that are recommended for proper maintenance and see that they, in itself, cause little or no breaches or failures, it is no wonder that our product, and I believe our competitor's plumbing cleaners, are generally much easier on the components built into the units. We have had jetted tubs with 60 plus consecutive purges with zero component failure. So, a typical hot tub with 2 or 3 purges a year is not going to affect any parts or components. Mr.Leno, I appreciate what you have done for the hot tub community and I am sure that the people you have helped appreciate your time and dedication. Because of your testing and writings, you have assisted a great number of people in helping them to maintain a healthy hot tub with the finest and best water ever. One thing I know for sure. The hot tub in Mr. Leno's yard is one of the healthiest and cleanest hot tubs known to mankind.
